      Bernie the red is a multi millionaire, his wife is a criminal, he voted to keep congress out of Obamacare, he has 3 homes. Yet, he won’t allow you to become rich, wants to eliminate single family homes, forces you on Obamacare (BTW healthcare has only gotten more expensive often its implementation…..where’s the $2,500 per year cost reduction). How’s free medical care working out for the VA? Bernie is a lying communist reprobate. He just drives up envy between the classes and every other segment of society. Why vote for envy? The campaign super funders/1% in the shadows don't want the working class people to prosper since that means they would have to surrender their fair share of capital gains to taxes, and the orange turd agrees with them because he is one of them.

    • @michaelkottler
      @michaelkottler 10 місяців тому +5

      The same is true in many other modern democracies where government bargaining is used to purchase medication in bulk at deeply discounted prices allowing citizens to, for example, pick up a month's worth of insulin in the UK for about eight pounds while in the States (the only modern democracy where healthcare is a for-profit industry) that same insulin costs at least $500. As a US citizen old enough to remember when we were still the "good guys" and also enjoyed the highest quality standard of living in every category it saddens me deeply to see how we've fallen from being the envy of the world to at or near the bottom in every single area save GDP and military spending. For a nation of people who identify mostly as Christian, you'd think we'd follow the lead of the UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, S. Korea, all the Nordic nations, Germany and so on and resume the universal education we once offered plus move to universal healthcare, prop up our dying organized labor movement, end the ridiculously huge monopolies in every industry including news media, redistribute wealth by making our largest corporations pay their fair share of taxes as once they did (prior to Reagan, the capital gains tax was 60%!) and so on. But, no. Citizens aren't kept informed re: conditions outside the USA and are fed the lie that we're still #1 when we haven't been for generations. So, yeah: what you said!

    As a visitor to the USA I had to go to a hospital ER.
    10 minute consultation and a prescription for some antibiotics cost me the equivalent of 30 private GP visits in Australia. That’s 15 years of visits under normal circumstances.
    Thank goodness for travel insurance.

    the NHS in the UK has its issues but one good thing is the set price for drugs. You don't get them for free, unless you're a child or elderly, but there is a set SAME price for everything, no matter what the drug.

    The more a politician points out the reality of greed and speaks to fiscal equality in this country the more they are villainized. It tells you how both sides are corrupt and fear having to do without 2nd homes and 100k cars. It's always those in power and those who have all the nice things that talk against it the most.
    Heaven forbid we cap wealth at 100 million. Yes it's possible and yes there are ways to create real checks and balances. We'd need to change cultural values. Unfortunately those with ego's that haven't evolved past their own childish desires for 'more stuff' who still rule over us and set the stage for more of the same.

They look up to those with all the stuff, and vote for the ones that tell you they can get you there. Of course, the reality is that those ones in office don't give a damn about you, they only care about their stuff, yet they still get voted in.

    I live in Australia and I suffer from endometriosis, coeliac disease and degenerative disc disease, all of which would not be covered in your healthcare system. Endoscopies, laparoscopies, hysterectomy, anterior cervical discectomy fusion, all covered by our healthcare system. I need 10 different medications and all of them are $7.70. After I pay for 30-something scripts, I reach what we call the "safety net", which means I then get all those medications for free for the remainder of the year. GP appointments, free. Neurosurgeon, free. Neurologist, free. Gynaecologist, free. Gastroenterologist, free. Physio, free. Nerve block injections, free. Ambulance, free. Nerve conduction studies, free. Blood tests etc, free. Eye exams, free.
    Healthcare should never be about profit. Hospitals should not be about profit. No American should have to risk their own lives because they can't afford the care they need. Universal healthcare sure isn't perfect, but what is. Everyone should have the right to decent medical care
