    Another great build my friend. I wish I'd never started watching these sort of videos as I now want all my builds to look as good as them instead of just building the kits and improving my skill

      Cheers J. Always, always remember that the only person you have to please is you. You might ask for the opinion of others, and hopefully they will help if you want to know something, but if you look at a kit and think "I'm happy with that"' then you've won! It's supposed to be about fun, after all...!!!

    Very nice kit. I enjoy when a kit sets my creativity to sort around obstacles.

    I am really impressed with this one - I am going to have to get this now! I fell in love with this aircraft after seeing the displays performed by the team that comes over from the Netherlands. Wonderful stuff yet again!

    Now I am looking forward to hearing from you on those landing gear assembly steps. ☕ Cheers until tomorrow's Thursday roundup video w/ extra historical content 👍

    I just finished this kit and it looks pretty nice. The exception is the weak landing gear. Mine have broke twice now so I had to reinforce them with super glue. Be careful. Yes the door rods for the nose gear doors will snap off, add them later in the build if possible.

      The gear is a bit of an issue to build. But those door actuators are just poor design. I wonder that they didn't;t think of that when they did their test builds.

      I tried the kit gear, white metal gear, and brass gear parts. I ended up printing my own in resin.

    Thanks Gary. Very interesting. I’ve got mine all ready to go but I’d better clear away a few other things first!

    14:36 That's the access ladder not the radio aerial. Super fiddly little kit, no way I am building that. I love adding detail to a kit so the Testors is my kit of choice.

      See, that's what I love about this - there will be someone who watches who will know what bits are! Lucky I get the guess right most of the time, at least with aircraft. Thanks for confirming it!!!

      @@garys_stuff Nice build. Some other details: That smaller pipe underneath the cold air manifold is a engine bleed air pipe going into that mixer above it. I don't know what that strut should be in the back of the main landing gear bay. There is an uplock mechanism on the aft inboard side, maybe thats what they intended.

    Very nice. My only comment is that the landing gear on Navy/Marine Corps aircraft is white

    Geest build again!! What kind of airbrush do you use?

    • @garys_stuff
      @garys_stuff  2 роки тому

      Hi Jason, I use a Timbertech airbrush and compressor - about £70 pounds from Amazon. Link is here: amzn.to/3jVjTHS

    Great build! I'm currently working on this kit. can I ask where, or if, did you put the weights to stop it tail sitting?

    • @garys_stuff
      @garys_stuff  Рік тому

      I did put some weight right up in the front of the nose wheel bay. Can't remember how much, it was a it trial and error. If you can fit some in the nose before you put the halves together then great - just keep checking they will still go together!

  • @duncanling2127
    @duncanling2127 2 роки тому +1

    Wow it looks awesome gary where abouts did you put the weights and what did you use thanks :)

    • @garys_stuff
      @garys_stuff  2 роки тому +1

      Cheers Duncan, I used flattened shot - I use lead shot that you use to make your own diving weights, then flatten them with pliers so they pack together better. I drizzle some superglue over them to keep them in place. They went into the very front of the nose space, forward of the nose gear well. If I've got more space I use some 5g weights of the kind used to balance cycle wheels.
