What a lovely video, your narrative style really made me smile. And useful insights on your gear of course.

very timely. As I will be doing a fairly similar trip from Dublin to France, I will review carefully. One issue I have is my Vango TBS 150 tent is purple (used it in hikinig groups in Ireland, so never needed to be discreet), but not great for stealth camping in solo bikepacking. So I think I will dye it in green with vinegar to allow the dye to get into the nylon, but I read that the waterproof ability might be damaged.

Yes I probably wouldn’t recommend it if there’s a chance of damaging the waterproofing. I had a forest green tent as I was planning to wild camp when needed. Despite this, I’ve always found campsites along the way and the luxury of a warm shower at the end of the day always won me over. Especially in Central Europe you’ll have no issues founding campsites pretty much everywhere. I would just look for a campsite around 4/5pm along my way and stop there 👌🏼Something to consider: it would be tricky to stealth camp in Ireland/UK if Bikepacking on road - all farmland is privately owned and pitching after dark/leaving at sunrise would mean only few hours of sleep since we have so many hours of daylight.

Great video. What bike is it?

Hi, it’s a Triban Grv520 for Decathlon. Best value for money at this price point in my opinion, just swap the tires for something more puncture proof 😁😁

Summer is here. The temperature in my hometown reaches 38 degrees and the humidity is 88%. I don’t even have the courage to go out and ride 5 kilometers.

I get you, I was lucky to do this trip at the beginning of June otherwise the temperature would have been way too high!! 🥵
