I remember my first visit to TVRM back in April 2009. And 610 pulled my train. It’s likely 610 will be restored should 630 or 4501 need there 1,472 day boiler inspection. I guess 610 was pulled out of service because her boiler certification expired. However I’ve grown accustomed to 4501. She’s almost like new having been restored in Fall 2014 but she’s over 100 years old. 112 years old is how old 4501 is today.

Given that TVRM just did some work on 4501 back in 2021, she should be around for a long time. They take good care of both 4501 and 630.

I also wonder why 4501 and train didn’t turn the wye on the way into Grand Junction like all trains did before?
The 4501 is restricted to “base leg first” operation on the wye. It is easier for it to reverse around the East Leg.
