Brilliant, very creative. I wouldn't worry about the square bit, I think they would have been bigger and better if left to grow normally. Also, I was surprised to see they were yellow, only ever seen red watermelons.
Should have used a more sturdy square case made from steel, then you'll get a nice square melons, unfortunately those casing need to be fabricated for this purpose, good job on using those plastic tupperwares, if only it can hold better shape

The technique is beautiful but trying to change the shape of the melon was no good idea. Nature will always win, man.
