Remove the root signs for (x^2 - 16)/(x + 4) = 100((x + 4)(x - 4))/(x + 4) = 100(x - 4) = 100x = 104Yes, pretty much the same way.

Yes, pretty much the same way.

Square both sides,
(x²-16)/(x+4) = 100
x-4 = 100
x=104
