A very good video! You might also mention outlying villages like Freelton or Milgrove for people like me who need space to grow a huge garden in some of Hamilton's excellent soils! Did you know that downtown Hamilton sits on some of the best soil in the world? You should stress that if one is into gardening, then Hamilton below the escarpment is one of the very best places in Canada to garden. Hamilton's climate is also excellent for gardening - in my opinion, just as good as Victoria. Remember that we are 1000 km SOUTH of Victoria. No one in any of these videos mentions gardening but this has kept me active and busy for sixty years. The potential beauty of Hamilton really excites me. You just need some people who are interested and have some knowledge! Do you realize that I grow Myrtles, Sequoiadendron and 30 ft bamboos which are green all winter long and the true cedars from Morocco, Lebanon and the Himalayas? I also grow winter Jasmine which flowers in March and Alstroemerias from Peru. They are hardy here.
Wow, that’s incredible! You clearly have a deep passion for gardening, and I appreciate you sharing that perspective. You’re absolutely right-Hamilton has some of the best soil in Canada, and it’s something that doesn’t get talked about enough. Freelton and Millgrove are fantastic options for those looking for more space to garden. The fact that you’re growing Myrtles, Sequoiadendrons, and even Alstroemerias here is amazing! I’ll definitely keep gardening in mind for future videos

Hi Mathew, It is so good to watch your informative video.Just want to ask you few things,I will be going to Ancaster on work permit probably before christmas and I am looking for a room in Garner Road but until now I have not been able to succeed,so if you can give me some advice will be helpful as I will be completely new to the country and doesn't know anyone,I have tried to do Kijiji but the rooms I am getting exceeds my budget,my budget is between 400CAD-550CAD.Please advice me so that I don't struggle as i have to start working within a stipulated time after I touchdown Canada.Thanks.
Hey Sophie, the air population in downtown hamilton is comparable to the pollution seen in Toronto. In my Pros and Cons of Living in Hamilton, I go more into detail and show a graph which you can check out. But outside of the downtown core, the air pollution is limited due to all the vast green spaces and forests found in Hamilton helping to clean the air.
It's not really a problem. I lived in Stoney Creek and never noticed it. It's thousands of times better that it was in the fifties when I was a kid! Besides, most of the time with the SW winds, it is blown over to Toronto!!!
Thanks for the feedback! If you are looking for some things to do that are less boring, check out my top 10 things to do in the Hamilton video. Lots of options to choose from so you won't be bored!

Hey Rahul, glad I was able to help you over email. Thanks again for your support!
‘Albion Falls’ on the escarpment in east Hamilton, not Albany Falls! Beautiful vista, no matter what you call it.
How about the air pollution ? With the wind you can probably smell that awful smell from the factories
