@@santiagorodriguez2940 The idea is the same. The queen behind the rooks is more ideal but you don't always have that. The queen between rooks is just as good and worked perfectly. You are the only channel I watch on UA-cam bc U keep it interesting, NOT boring at all, with how u explain & show us different tactics/moves to see the results. U also show me mistakes players made. I believe that u put alot of work into each video, & I appreciate that. Thanks again! Sorry 4 long post, and sorry for bad grammar-tried to make post short but didn't succeed haha
Capablanca like now Leela is learning . There will be one day when he will remain undefated for 8 years " belived or not" and this of course will be his downfall .He thought he didn't need any special preparation to defeat Alekhine in the Championship match. He was wrong. Even after the lost to AA he was considered the best chess player in the world for a few more years. I assume that a tropical bird like Capa would have had a lots of problem with the cold weather in Europe and caught the flu often.

I just found your channel yesterday and I really enjoy your content and the insight you give for the different outcomes that a move may lead to. Also I like the background information you give for each game and tournament. You earned a subscriber mate.
The more Agadmator increases my "vast knowledge" of José Raúl Capablanca, the more I start thinking that he really was the greatest of all time, the GOAT.
I checked out the position in 9:30 with stockfish and it showed very different lines (but starting with Nxg2 or Qc4) than yours and I guess that's why I love this channel. U dont just show engine lines but u think through positions by yourself.
On your deleted comment, if Qg4, then Pf3...! R defends everything and P attacks Q. This breaks Ben Finegold's rule ( never play F3 ) but wtf , one has to in this position.
Can you make some more on Korchnoi? I love his complications and maneuvering, sacrificing and then regaining material later with interest, scary positional player !
Dd i miss something at 9:15? I didn't find that elusive move Agad shows. Its a rather long sequence to mate, but what about simply playing ..Qg4 threatening mate on g2? White can't capture the knight with the bishop Bxf4 because this opens the e-file allowing Re1#, and the only other defense i found is g3 which also doesn't work due to Qh3+ followed by Qg2#. after some more searching i noticed white can play Qb7 protecting the g2 square, so my idea doens't work. Obviously Agad, Capa and Alekhine all know a wee bit more about chess than i do. 😁
I enjoy the study and scholarship and academia which improve one's game, but the beauty of the game speaks for itself through intuitive play, not textbook
I assume you already covered Lasker's win over Capablanca in this same tournament? That game demonstrated that a knight on e6 or d6 protected by a pawn is a monster. Many years ago I played against this guy (who is a math teacher, much stronger than me at chess) and when I planted a knight there (this was a blitz game, 5 minutes per side) he did not think twice: sacrificed the exchange.
He respected strong opponents like AA and Lasker reason he rarely played strong forcing moves that resulted in embarrasing checkmates for them. Not so with those lesser mortals who purportedly believed being better or disrespected his status.
Even I found this line. It's the best one - forces mate irrespective of what White does. Good thing I checked all the comments. Otherwise I'd have repeated what you wrote, Dave !!!!
Capablanca had his way with the arrogant theorists. He basically said put your money where your mouth is and wrecked Nimzovich and quieted the cronies, but eventually they prevailed. Thats why he was called, still is, "the natural"
Turns out Fischer and Tal and Capablanca were the game and they d probably all agree that it was ruined by the theorists who felt they were elevating the game, but they killed it.

@Trică Nicolae Ioachim Hey, I'm just curious... is that Agadmator posting, or just his picture?

Capablanca used Alekhine's gun to defeat him. Thats amazing.
Technically Alekhine's gun places the queen behind both rooks. It is different. And stronger

I'm not sure if I ever heard the correct pronunciation of Alekhine before Antonio said it in one of his videos (a long time ago).

So, does Capablanca learned some opening theory by now?
Of course not
And he won’t…he’ll be even more bored never losing after that.
I preferred back when you used the arrowkeys to move the pieces. It was just so much more immersive - can you please go back?
I'm starting to feel sorry for old Alekhine: three lossed to the Cuban in a couple of videos.
He can always fall back on his other career as Weird Alekhine, doing parodies of popular ragtime tunes.
He respected strong opponents like AA and Lasker reason he rarely played strong forcing moves that resulted in embarrasing checkmates for them. Not so with those lesser mortals who purportedly believed being better or disrespected his status.

why not queen takes c3 at 14:26? isn't that winning?
If queen would go there white would take the rook with a check, and would also dodge the bullet by moving the rook
