About Adventures Made From Scratch: I’m just a regular guy who likes to find adventure in day to day life. We may not be able to go travel the world, but there are plenty of opportunities at our door step. I do a mix of vintage car stuff, scrapyard stuff, nature hiking, and who knows what else?!? Come with me as I take you along for a ride in my world! - Авто та транспорт
Thanks for riding along with me for a couple of days! As you can see, I'm always busy doing many different things.
you asked us to leave a comment...... i asked on two other Videos about the price of scrap that You send in....... ?
No loyalty you're showing your friend Shawn he's a great lesson to be putting out there. I'm so glad I found your channel so long ago. I'm glad to see you doing different things that you do. I noticed you're not showing your kids lately. In today's world it's not a bad idea to keep him off the videos. But I will say that my wife and me hairballs enjoyed watching them. My wife has said each time how beautiful they are. Seeing you interact with your kids is a positive role model. Or maybe in this world where that does not happen as often generally speaking of course. Just thought you would like to know. 👍
Always a fun adventure!
You're one of the hardest working men.I know. You are truly a self starting self employed person who always find something to do.
I once knew a guy who was obsessed with the Vega. He'd buy every one he saw, but you never saw him drive any of them. One day he showed up at our farm asking my Dad some mechanical stuff and he was finally driving one....well, sorta. lol He transformed one of the wagons into a miniature El Camino and called it a Vegamino. Even had a nameplate on it. He could tell that I liked it and since he needed my Dad to go to his place, he insisted that I come with him. I saw some of the most fascinating things that day. He had over 20 acres in the middle of nowhere with a big barn in the middle of it and all of it was surrounded by a 15 feet tall fence of sheet metal, basically a sheet metal wall all the way around. Inside the wall was a chain link fence, almost the same height, with electrified barbed wire on the top. He sectioned off 1 acre plots and each plot was stacked with specific cars. Vega, Nova, Monza, Chevette, Gremlin, Pacer, Pinto, Maverick and the Mini Mustang. He had a lot of other cars much older as well, but this is about his Vega obsession. I soon found out that he had a lot of hours behind the wheel of the Vega. He had 2 Vegaminos, the other one was a jacked up 4x4 with a V8 under the hood. It was the biggest little truck I've ever seen. lol 3 different dragsters, 2 road racers and a stretch limo...all Vega. He had a Pintero, which is a Pinto Ranchero and a Pinto 4x4. One of the coolest cars there was a Pacer, built the way it was intended to be....with a Wankel. If you've ever driven a Pacer or ridden in one, you know there was nothing special about them. That rotary engine made a world of difference in performance. Holy cow, that thing was fast!! There were other amazing things there, but they all have stories of their own for another day. Seeing those Vega lumps in your video made me think of him for the second time by watching your content. The first time was the day you got the Chevette you recently crushed. You would like one of them he had, he raced it at Bonneville Flats, it was that fast. Walking into his barn was like a kid going into the Candy Store, you'd want to sample each creation. 👍
That red car at the end is a Fiat 128 estate. Rare even in Italy
Guessing that was an AMC Eagle sitting there. Always wanted one of those. No special reason. Also you have to love the Vega. The only car ever to rust on the showroom floor.
Have a great memorial weekend.
That orange and white Vega is a rare car. 1973 "Millionth Vega" with many options, that paint scheme, and the door handles say Millionth Vega.
That's cool. The door handle does say millionth Vega
Thanks silas you always seem to give a good show at work
Silas you have the skill of a surgeon with that loader 👍
I had a Ford pinto with a 289 in it, one bad ass little car when i was in high school my buddies all had Vegas, good times
I don't know what it is about watching someone else work, but I could watch it all day! You're really getting the hang of the excavator-- practice makes perfect, as they say. Wish I lived closer... you get some neat old jalopies that would be fun to tinker with (but you're a long way from far east Alabama! Thanks for posting!
And that's how you make a unibody into a Mono body !!!!
Vega’s and rust were good friends.
Was a no cost option on cars rust added by factory
Have A Great & Wonderful Rest Of You're Memorial Day Weekend There My Good Big Bro Silas Of Adventure Made From Scratch
You're Welcome So Very Much There My Good Big Bro Silas Of Adventure Made From Scratch
Thank You So Very Much There To Everyone Else That Likes My Comments
Love a junk yard video
On a Quiet night, you can hear the Vegas rusting,,,,
The “Lounge Music” you have to choose from cracks me up. Interesting new content!
Wow three Vegas
Silas I really enjoy your videos went to work for my uncle loading his one-time truck with copper batteries radiators and then later on I went to work at a Recycling yard brings back a lot of good memories
The car at the farm clean up looks like an Opel station wagon. I had one in high school. Love the vids. Keep up the hard work.
Everything that you do is a thumbs up, for me who has been a shut in since November, and can't make my own adventures. I have to live vicariously through others and enjoy your adventures.I thank you very much for sharing yours. Stay safe and God Bless.
Gives new meaning to subcompact lol!
Great watching you operating the loader, popping exhausts, plucking out engines, those forks are like an extension of your arms. Never ceases to amaze me the trash/treasure is on peoples properties still. Keep up the good work.
It's nice to see somebody demonstrate such great loyalty. You're busy guy and you work harder then anybody I can think of. But yet you're helping out your friend Shawn. I realize it's a two-way street. Picture demonstrating that you realize that it is a two-way street. In this world of people who don't understand this or would not care. It is interesting to see the different things that you do. And I haven't seen any kids on here and sometime. Hope they are doing fine
Hoping you film the auction you go to that you mentioned at the end of the video. It's always fun seeing what you find. Take Care.
Dude I knew in HS would rebuild Vega's and sell them to other younger classmates. Man those brought back some memories
Great Video/That car crusher was really worth the investment/And wow you really handle that forklift and excavator very well/
Good score on that steel 😊
I never get tired of watching the skill you have with that loader Silas
Silas, Thank You for the great video . Work never stops at the yard. The Chevy Vegas were Junk when they were new . that 4 cylinder aluminum engines were gutless and oil burners.
That car at the farm cleanup looks awesome. Almost like its an old honda or toyota.
Looking forward to seeing that old 1960/61 Chrysler/Desoto.
That's why you folded it in half!
I thought you were just fooling around.
Looks like a plan, it fit.
Cool to watch someone else "have at it" for awhile.
Enjoy your videos, gotta compliment you on the machines; you're a good operator.
All the best!
That was the last car and I didn’t want to save it
Hi Salis, all that steel on the farm clean-up looks like it's structural shed, A big shed if you wanted one.
Haven't seen a Vega in a LONG LONG Time!!!
Same Here
Awesome episode Silas, always look forward to your videos !
I really do enjoy watching every video that you post
Be careful with that New Tailgate and hauling your trailer.. after not having a tailgate for so long be easy to forget and smash another one..
I love watching ur videos
I always enjoy watching your videos. Thanks for sharing 👍.
Fun video, always give you a thumbs up. You are the real deal, no fake drama, just good old crushing and cool cars. Vega’s we’re good cars, but gas prices of the 70’s made them popular for awhile. I thinks they had a combination cast iron and aluminum block parts that didn’t work out to well together. Stay safe. Peace
with all the angel iron you will have you could make a "gas/oil/ draining cart " that you could put the cars on to drain the fluids ?? good video
Your video and audio is always good 👍🏼 thanks for a great show
I bought a used Vega hatchback in 1973 and had a lot of fun with it. But it's aluminum block engine burnt oil like crazy, so much so that I had to drive with a case of engine oil in the back. By the time I dumped the car in 1976, it was burning a quart of oil every 100 miles.
Love the Vegas
Picking up that tire and wheel and placing it into the rear window of that sedan, very impressive. You always impress with your loader operating skills.
that orange '73 Vega is a "Millionth Vega" = a promo package they offered to celebrate their millionth Vega produced. 6500 of those were built. Somebody might actually want that thing. Friend had one new.
Hoping the damaging storms bypassed you and your properties. Thanks again for a fun video full of variety. Chuck in NE Kansas
Fantastic video silas & looking forward to the farm clean up .
I always give you a thumbs up your videos are always worth it.
I liked seeing the Vegas.
Awesome Video I Always Enjoy Watching Your Video's And You And Your Family Have A Wonderful Rest Of Your memorial Day weekend!!!
Thank you for another wonderful adventure
Awesome as always Silas crush crush crush
i loved the vegas great show
Wow…watching you pick cars apart with the loader is wild! You sir….have skills!
That orange '71-'72 Vega GT hatch has been a car I've wanted for some time. They used to be common, not so much now.
Really enjoyed your video! Thanks! 💯👍
That metal that was stacked up you would make selling it than junking it.
Love the loading up music 👌🏻
Good video , I like watching. You work the all the machInes
Very KOOL Silas
Got rhings looking good silas excellent 😊
Thumbnails are everything.
Those aluminum Vega motors were junk on the showroom floor!
that load of steel you got, like you said you could use to support the noses you cut off. If there is a hot rod shop near you they are always looking for stuff like that to support the old bodies and replacing wood with steel. I am sure you could get more then scrap price .
The cake looked very nice 😂
Very cool. I saved a 77 Vega wagon many years ago that was a rats nest. Im sure its rotted out lol
Yes Sir!!!
Love all the old cars that come in i am in Australia whish shipping wasn’t soooo dear love the 50 chevys and the trucks
Awesome always cool stuff always thanks
Excellent
i sure would like to crush some cars too it looks like so much fun ,thanks for shsareing have a great day
Now that guy had the Vegas, you bury one and cover it up with the other one
Cool 😎 cars
good job!
great video
I Wish that that I had money to buy the to buy them Vegas.
Good one 👍👍👍👍👍😊
I once had a friend who put a Toyota motor in his Vega. He called it Vegota.
Those Vegas besides art pieces could possibly be good rat rods or diamonds in the ruff
Always enjoy your videos. Interesting to see your yard in the United States. I live in Scotland to compare how the local scrap yard in Aberdeen works against yours.
love the crushinf videos from n ireland
Those Vega hatch backs doors are worth money do not crush, people use them to create Superbirds or Daytona's
Silas,i just wanted to comment on your cool video
Happy Memorial Weekend
If you ever get a "Chevy Monza Spyder" I'll buy it ... Some like the Vega's & Monza's (same platform ) because the Monza's had a V8 option...
I had a 78' Monza Spyder I drove in high school...
Love to find one today..
The biggest reason they were junked is because the frames rotted out...
I bought a half dozen in my younger days but sold em..
The Vega frames are the same in the wagons & Monza's (I think)
I was wondering if you still did business with the orange trailer semi for transporting the crushed cars. Great videos 😊
Here in OZ some of those old truck rims, like the one you jammed in the car early on in this vid.. welded together make dam fine fire pits..
Got to eventually crush a Smart car or a Scion iQ sitting upright on its trunk when the opportunity comes along in the new EZ Crusher
Nice job.
Another great video
Nice
I wish I was a whole lot younger I’d work for parts 😂
I had a new 1973 Vega, got 40 mpg but after 20,000 miles it got 50 miles to a quart of oil… aluminum block 4 banger, 3 speed on the floor… fun while it lasted 😅
Love that Fiat 128 Panorama (wagon), would sell for $2-3k in Europe if its reasonably together & complete! The 85hp X1/9 engine slots straight in & makes them pretty quick, as they only weigh about 1600lb! I don't know why you don't put stuff like that on ebay, I know people in the US who collects Fiats of that era, it would sell for much more than scrap value.
Another good vid 👍
His machines are an extension of his arms he's that good 😊
You just showing off picking up that tire @2:14..........LOL. Your rock my brother!
Save me some of that light gauge channel for my '48 packard nose (and drivers door). I'm hoping to hear about shipping on a pallet costs to north TX soon.
Thanks Sir-!!!!
