- Here is my thoughts on the BougeRV 30qt fridge. We've been using it for over a year now and figured it was a good time to make a video on it. I've got a link below to this fridge if you're interested in checking it out. Hope you like the video!

Lots of great points made in this review. Makes a lot of sense not needing a bigger fridge when the cooler doesn’t have to be filled with ice. I’ve ruined a lot of food that water made it’s way into the packaging.
Same here.
I've own the exact same model for about 2years now. Its seen beach trips, extreme Texas summer camp outs, and even pulled ice chest duty in the home for a solid year straight...and is still going strong till this day.
I can run it @ 32 degrees on a jackery 240 or 300 for 2 days before it drains the battery...thats so awesome.
I just wanted to get away from having to buy ice, or soggy items, or packing less so I could have enough ice.
This thing was a true game changer for me.
Agreed!
Thank you for this one year review. Much more important then the take out of the box reviews. By then most know the pros and cons. I just bought one on Amazon Prime days so looking forward to building it into my van conversions small kitchen in the planning stages. Im mostly a weekender with the occasional week or 3 trip and have been using a cheap thermoelectric koolatron cooler and it sucked my battery dry and didnt do a great job. I will make a well insulated cover for this. I think it will fit my bill perfectly. The more bells and whistles you have on a product the more that can go wrong! But having said thst it sounds like Bouge has fantastic customer service as well! Appreciate the time you took to do the full review video.
Great review!
Thanks!
Great dad!
I was on the fence between two brands. Just ordered this model. Thank you for the honest review. Also I drive a KL and need to look into that fuse swap. I didn't know about that.
Hope you enjoy it as much as we have. The fuse swap is simple and great to have always on power in the back.
Quick question would you rather have a led light bar on top or the 22inch light bar in the grille ?
I just installed a 42" up top. I like the grill light bar option but I've already got the rd lights attached with a mohawk hood mount. So I guess I'd say light bar up top and 7"rd at the grill
I wonder if there has been a revision to the case since this video. Thele hole in the case for my 23 quart version is MUCH bigger now and the cable is no risk of being pinched.
I have the BougeRV 30quart fridge and noticed there's nothing to tie it down. So I purchased some D-Ring Patches that get Glued onto Inflatable Boats, Surfboards, etc, and glued them onto the front and back corners. I'm sure you can think of many other valuable devices that don't have anything to attach ropes to. How's that for an idea?
Well done! Great idea.
I just ordered one
I've had mine awhile and still really happy with it.
Do you notice a difference in run time with max compared to eco? I use to put on max to quickly cool down and eco to keep at said temp. But I noticed at some point through the night the fridge would be off by morning. Started leaving it on max and the fridge would still be on by morning. I assumed it’s because eco would run the compressor more often and longer. The max function would cool it down quicker, over shoot the temp and it would hold an average temp longer not needing the compressor to kick on as often. Also I use a portable inverter. In the family car it would suck the battery dry even with the high protection on. My work truck has 2 batteries which will keep it running but I like the convenience of the inverter. Just got a fold up solar panel to pair with the inverter. Will be trying it out this weekend.
Yeah it tends to keep a more steady temp on max. The biggest thing on the temp to me is just that it is colder than the temp guage reads. About 3 to 4 degrees. I haven't had any issues with it sucking my battery down though even over multiple days and nights in use.
ECO stretches the battery and life of the machine. Don't use an inverter. The power draw will skyrocket.
What is the weight? Is it primarily a freezer? I really want to use it to freeze blue ice and then not have to pull off of electricity. I think this might be perfect for that. What do you think and thank you.❤
I'm not sure how much it weighs. It's not very heavy maybe 20lbs. It's a fridge/Freezer. You can use it for either.
You should break the fridge in on ECO mode and never put it in MAX. This will extend it's life. That bag must restrict the air flow. I'd chuck it and tie a string loop through the grille to pass the wire through so it won't kink any more. This chest freezer is premium components and insulated to the max.
It probably does a little bit.
Does the bag cover the vents on the refrigerator?
No the vents aren't covered by it.
I love mine. Wasn't too happy paying 60 bucks for the cover though. 🤬
Yeah I hear you.
I chose to make my own cover, using those exercise mats they sell in sports supplies stores. Or you might find them for less in second hand stores. Wrap the lid, back, bottom and front in one piece, then cut and tape a piece into the left and right ends using Duct Tape or Book Binding Tape. Then cut holes for the air vents and power plug. Then you get to decide what color of an exercise mat to usem instead of Gray.
What is the overall height with the cover on?
The cover only adds about 1" and a half
@@MootsKLAdventure thanks. Mine was delivered yesterday.
How many years in the Army?
7 years Army, 4 years Corps.
why dont you just plug the cord in overtop of the bag???
I guess I could but then you have to deal with it when you're getting in and out of the fridge.
@@MootsKLAdventure I no mean just plug in the cord without ever tucking it into the bag. I see plenty of other videos where people just plug it in with the bag and they just don’t tuck the cord into the bag
This company really chose a great name. Bouge basically means snooty arsehole, someone who is bougey is one who sets themselves apart from others by overtly displaying opulence.
Smart name choice.
It also means “move” in french
No its short for the french word bourgeoisie "Middle Class" @@skiipy56
