  • Today's walk started at the beautiful ruins of Creake Abbey dated from the 13th century, set in a tranquil valley and 40 acres of meadow within the north Norfolk countryside. The Abbey is open to the public all year round, free of charge. We parked outside the Abbey where there was space for maybe 3 cars, also for no charge. However, as you drive into the track leading to the Abbey, you will see further on there is a selection of independent shops along with a cafe - here there is also a large car park which I think, could also be free! We did drive round to the shops after our walk, but it was closed (there could be different opening hours depending on season) We followed a circular route that took us deep into the heart of the Norfolk countryside... following farm tracks and across fields. Many of Norfolk ruins do have walks around them, so it's worth googling before you set off. As always, I really enjoyed the open space, peacefulness and beautiful scenery - typical of our Norfolk countryside - will hopefully make a return visit.
I really hope you have enjoyed watching, please do give me a thumbs up, drop me a comment and subscribe to see more of our walks in and around Norfolk and Suffolk - and our holiday adventures.
    Thanks for watching, Jenny x

Ah, it's a puff ball Jenny - they're good eating them. Literally, if you see another in the future take it back and fry it on a medium heat with some onion or egg. Good for anything really - breaky or dinner. Well, Loving the bee s and butterfly's. But the hand? Well, you sure do have some lovely back lanes and tracks to walk. And when there's not a soul about it's a treasure. Awesome abbey there too. Have a great week ahead. Mark

Ah, yes we thought it was! Never seen one that big... Next time I find one I'll give the fry up a go! Was the big flat one a normal mushroom? It looked like it was but didn't want to chance my judgement. Ha! the hand was a bit random... seen lots of weird things on walks but that's a first, it was around Halloween so obviously someone having a bit of fun! We do have a lot of ruins dotted around, we have an abundance of churches steeped in history too! Luckily, most of the ruins are free to enter so that's good. Thanks Mark, you to have a great week - take care, Jenny.

@@bumblejennybee88 Yeah, give it a go Jenny. The big flat one might have been a Parasol mushroom - again edible. Ha, someone has a sense of humor clearly with the hand. Re-the ruins not sure I've paid to get into one before. There's always a first time. A pleasure. I will have a good week.
