- Here we show the various hand movements that help to depict nature and tell the story of the song. Hula is fun to watch but even more fun to do. Try it and discover how much fun it is to dance the hula.

Very beautiful! There are many videos on the foot movements, but fewer defining the lovely hand motions. I first looked at your clips 3 years ago, and recently needed to see them again. I'm so glad I managed to find them again. Thank you for sharing your story telling with the rest of us!

Very beautiful, and I like that you had a theme to show different elements that could be used in telling a story.
It was good that you showed the footwork that goes with the hand movements and how they fit in the rhythm. When you showed the moon, however, your hands above your head were completely out of the picture -- cut off. I hope if you do another demo, please rehearse with the camera person and make sure that the video captures everything, from fingertips above your head to toes. Thank you.

I have always had great respect for the Hawaiian culture & people & always dreamed of learning hula. I am a yoga and sign language instructor. Here's how to do 'SPEAK ': touch lips very gently with one or both hands, then bring your hands, palms up, to the front, like you have an audience you are speaking to. 'LISTEN ' : cup both hands behind both ears, tilt your head a little. 'SEE ': Bring both hands to your eyes and gently wave your fingertips at the side of your eyes. Easy and simple moves, but nice.
