Thank you for this video, you saved my day! I haven't had to deal with this kind of problem since I work in the industry alongside school, because there are people who do these program repairs, but now it's saturday, everyone's home except for some measuring geeks doing owertime. The machine ran out of cooling liqid and just stopped in the middle of the program. But these steps worked perfectly on a Doosan NHM6300 machine with Fanuc series 31i control. -An enthusiastic engineering student from Hungary
Hi mark, Can you look at doing a series of videos on basic programming using "ihmi" including the machining cycles, as there was no manual supplied showing the use of "ihmi", even in the supplied manuals which are on the machine. Not sure if the lack of manuals for "ihmi" is a major fault by DOOSAN or Fanuc, but it does put us off buying anymore DOOSANS with Fanuc controls, we are already looking at other manufactures with different controls for our next purchase
Thanks for the reply. Email me at mark.christopher@dncompany.com and I will see if I can get you taken care of. The machine should have come with the manuals on a USB drive in one of the boxes. As for future videos, all of them will be done with the iHMI control in the future unless it is on a machine that requires CUFOS or a 31i-B5 like we have on some of our horizontal machines.

With these informational videos I wish there would be a simple printable step by step guide/check list. I'd hang these on the back of the controller. How fast can this restart be done by a seasoned user? It seems if the cycle is only 5mins I'd be better off time wise starting at the beginning.
Jorg, just like anything else, the more you use something the easier it is to use. I consider myself a "seasoned user" and it only took a little bit of trial and error and doing it a few times to get comfortable with it.
Charles, I agree it can be a few button presses but what I really agree with you on is once you use it a few times you get used to using it. Appreciate the feedback!
Are there any way to get the machine to do an M30 when reset are pressed If I pressed reset then I have goto MDI and do M30, just so the machine can restart from the start without alarming out. Just like all other machines work in the world
got a real answer thats a bit faster. in memory, feed hold, reset, then switch to edit, reset, then switch back to memory, and you should be good to go. just learned this today.
I have never experienced what you are talking about... I have run fanuc for decades, and we have a few doosan 0i controls now and I love them.. I reset out of programs all them time without ever having to do an M30...
Show next, how to properly set up a rigid tapping cycle, pull out the tap at a faster speed 200% How use teach mode in mdi How to remove the movement of the axis with G49 #5006 TOS How to set the correct G83 small hole drilling cycle with "i" back feed How format memory card on cnc
And if you would like to change the order of returning the axis you must change the par. 7310. When an any machine comes from South Korea I must change this parameter because first axis is Z then X and then Y (it is for VMC!) Oh!! It is crazy thing!!! Everytime Z is first!!
Thought you can just push edit...scroll through the programme where you want to start from ...hi light it ..go back to memory and hit the green button ...and it will run from where you highlighted it...
I am not really sure I understand your question. But I will tell you this, the tool setter populates tool height and diameter offsets in the tool offset page when a tool is measured. Your CAM system just programs the part and calls a particular offset. So for example, if you are using Tool 5 it will state something like: G43 H5 D5. I am not sure I understand how or why a CAM system would need data from a tool setter on the machine? But the bottom line is the tool setter only provides data to the tool offset page inside the Fanuc control.
Paul, it works the same way, however, most of the time I recommend just starting at the tool call on lathe programs as they are usually shorter in nature, but the short answer is yes, you can do the same thing.
Hello. Unfortunately, you cannot restart the program inside of a canned cycle. You would have to start it at the beginning of the canned cycle. Great question though.
Richard, do you have a Renishaw Probe? If so you have to activate it on the RENGUI page. Once it is activated the macro programs that operate the probe become available in the machine. As far as adding it to your program, Renishaw has documentation on how to program using their probe within your part program. You would need to contact them for that documentation.
just to add one other thing, the suggested videos asked for before my comments seem to be very old, but I can't find videos on any of these topics, so it looks like you didn't really mean for people to really ask for anything. This dosen't put DOOSAN in a good light, it even seems to indicate that DOOSAN don't care about their customers
With the pandemic, supply chain issues and since we changed names from Doosan to DN Solutions mid-year, all of our new video shoots were put on hold until next year. We have a list and are looking at the next videos that will be shot and released. We appreciate your feedback.

Hi Mark, When will there be new videos done with iHMI control as I can;t find any, (I hope you haven't stopped doing the videos).@@markchristopher5809

@@markchristopher5809 you are right, practice makes perfect. I just wish it was more intuitive, I still struggle with the tool load settings.
Hi can you make a video how to switch on machine removing alarms and do reference return then prepare machine to run.
Yes in only 28 steps you too can restart your Fanuc machine... :D Thanks for going over it, once you get used to it, it will seem easy enough. Charles

Switch to edit, reset, then back to memory. Always has been this way on Fanuc for as long as I’ve been using them, nearly 25 years in fact
I have never experienced what you are talking about... I have run fanuc for decades, and we have a few doosan 0i controls now and I love them.. I reset out of programs all them time without ever having to do an M30...

Thank you for all of the suggestions! I will add them to our list of potential videos!
what about for 5 Axis when spindle is in angle?
If the machine is set at the correct angle before machining begins, then it should work the same way. Great question.
How bout a future video on running lights out with tool life management.
Johnny, give this video a look.

this is for restarting in a cycle that's already been running for a few minutes, you can start from anywhere

now i realise how my hurco 5 axis help me lot..
Doosan with Mitsubishi M80 CNC has better features and program restart is really one touch. Not much steps..and really cool
