I know this is an old vid…..but it’s new to me…..lol. I have a Duranautic 16 with the side console and an Evinrude etec 30 on it. With a 12 pitch prop I’m hitting just a tad over 28 mph. I love this boat……..easy on the wallet at the gas station and just enough speed to not be annoying. Do. You still have it? Keep that Evinrude running because they closed up shop.
the etec 30 sounds like a great combo for the boat. your 30 is measured at the prop and my 35 at the engine, so probably about the same power, but you're doing it on way less fuel and noise i'm sure! wanted an etec, but didn't jump on the chance before they were gone and now everything in the same power range is about 100 pounds heavier than this motor. still fish it and yep i try to keep up on the maintenance as much as i can to give it the best chances. i run the xd100 oil from the etecs for my premix, nice synthetic protection and just about smokeless.
Good luck with it! They are great boats. The Offshore's with the remote controls sure would be nice on those long runs from the Atlantic Highlands marina out past the Sandy Hook rip
Jersey Tom: Thank you! She sure moves with the Merc 50HP! Handles well, nice ride. Had her out in the Delaware a River. Taking her down to Cape May next year. She'll be used exclusively in saltwater.
Greetings from jersey as well!
Nice boat motor! :P
I just purchased a one year old Duranautic 14. I live within 30 minutes of Lake Hopatcong. Can you recommend a good place to launch on Hopatcong?

Nice! I just bought a 1987 16' Duranautic Offshore with a 50HP Mercury. Taking her out tomorrow for the first time. Let you know how it goes.

Hey Tom, is your 16' a short shaft transom?
no, it has a deep transom and takes a 20" long shaft motor
@@JerseyTom Thanks!
Do you still have this boat?

+Alan Otto hah yeah, it's definitely more than enough power for all but the calmest of days
