Blasting this shit on a niiiiiiice tab of acid! AUTUMN 2022 and this album is still breathtaking! These melodies have indeed carried me far away from the sun........... edit: came back to say the fade to black at the end was *chefs kiss*
Sacramentum, Dissection, Dawn, Vinterland, Lord Belial, Ackranum, Naglfar, Necrophobic, Dark Funeral, Marduk, Ophalamia, Raise Hell (only their debut): Old school Swedish Black Metal.
seriously one of the best black metal albums of all time very melodic yet brutal and pretty atomospheric production and every song just melds together so well.
This album is a true masterpiece and really defines the spirit of melodic black metal where gloomy topics meet an uplifting attitude. Sacramentum deliver effectively developed and impressive songwriting full of majestic and sinister tremolo riffs.
A majestic milestone of black metal art. Got the chance to see them performing it in its entirety in Greece alongside Bewitched. A night to remember for sure!
Yo y mi cerebro cuando escuchamos la número 5 : mierda ! La nostálgia me está llamando. Ojalá poder volver cuando tenía 20 años y escuchaba está maravilla 😢 ..... 😎🤘🖤
I just noticed that they were back together and playing MDF next year. I have been waiting like ten years to see this band live and I'm FUCKING STOKED!
Mario Jacobs : Shit. I doubt it. Things are looking pretty bleak according to what the governors want to do. Things like concerts will probably be banned...
Incredibly Beautiful, don't know if this makes any sense but this is so cold that it's so warm... listen to Noctes - Pandemonic Requiem 1997 if you love Far Beyond The Sun, they are very similar, also from Sweden. Metal Till The Bitter End \m/
First time I ever saw someone recommend Noctes. Absolutely love that album too. If you haven't done so already you should check out Vinterland's "Welcome my Last Chapter," the greatest album ever in that particular genre.
@@michaelgreene7041 Thank you very much yes I know them =), I think I have listened to almost every metal band out there, you will never know how much Metal means to me, Try the amazing one man band Evilfeast from Poland, extremely cold and beautiful Symphonic Black Metal by a very talented individual imagine Norway's Gehenna but much more melodic and melancholic.... Sear Bliss from Hungary!!, they are an absolutely incredible band who changed my life, they were from the second wave 90's black metal era and sadly quite unknown and underappreciated, Imagine Dissection crossing early Dimmu Borgir and all the best parts of Norwegian Black Metal, I have listened to all of their albums accept Forsaken Symphony which I save for the end, I want to listen to it just as I am dying. Thanks again brother, Metal Till The End
kuku muniu it becomes apparent "Where dead angels lie" of course is majestic but it's too catchy. In the other hand "Cries from a restless soul" provides multilayered and sophisticated tremolo riffs along with masterly developed songwriting. That's why the Sacramentum song is far superior. However everyone has its own musical taste.

Well I'll add this to my list of "How the hell did I not find this band sooner?" This is fantastic stuff.
Since the day I bought this album (somewhere around ´97) this is one of my all time favorites. A perfect album.
agreed. they are for sure in my top 5 of favorite melodic black metal bands
If I had to choose between Sacrementum and Dissction, I would choose both
xD
A true classic from the underground.
Sacramentum, Dissection, Dawn, Vinterland, Lord Belial, Ackranum, Naglfar, Necrophobic, Dark Funeral, Marduk, Ophalamia, Raise Hell (only their debut):
Old school Swedish Black Metal.

Not an ounce of brightness emanates from this album. Unique in its kind !
One of the finest. The ambience and atmosphere is other worldly.
Was looking for bands similar to Dissection and discovered this gem
I also recommend vinterland welcome to my last chapter from 1996

this with vinterland's my last chapter and dissections storm of the lights bane are imo the best melodic black metal albums of all time
I would add ArthemesiA's Devs Iratvs to that list, then you got my favorites.
AGREED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Ilya Johansson Doesn't exclude them from making good music, tho.
Son de Suecia 🇸🇪
nice picks
One of the best albums to ever come out of Sweden!
This classic record represents clearly the ultimate 90's swedish bm circle.
I cannot wait to see this band at Maryland Deathfest play this album in its entirety

Damn, now we have to wait until next year ;/

If I had to choose between Sacramentum and Dissection, I would slightly prefer Sacramentum. Sadly underestimated and underrated band.
This album only

what is the Sacramentum's Where Dead Angels Lie?
Both songs are separated by a huge chasm
and there is also a huge difference between
better / worse and my favorite :)
