  • Join us as we visit Budva, Montenegro in this travel guide covering locals eats, top attractions and the best things to do in Budva during your trip. Visiting in the off-season meant exploring the Old Town was an uncrowded affair. We had the incredible Citadel to ourselves, wandered along the coast and got lost in the small maze of the walled city. For Montenegrin cuisine we grabbed food along the waterfront with great views and a bit of brisk breeze in late fall. Overall, we had a pleasant visit and would recommend taking a day trip here from Kotor or even stay a few nights if your schedule allows for it.
    10 Things to do in Budva City Tour (Будва) | Montenegro Travel Guide:
    1) Walk along Budva harbour
    2) Breakfast at Konoba Stari Grad for omelettes and cappuccinos
    3) Budva Old Town Beach

    5) Statua Ballerina
    6) Church of Saint Ivan (Sveti Ivan) + greeting cats
    7) Town Citadel (Citadela) + City Gates (Stari Grad)
    8) Shopping in Budva (souvenirs and high end items)

    10 Things to do in Budva, Montenegro Travel Guide (Будва) Video Transcript:
    Good morning good morning guys. Greetings from Budva, Montenegro. Budva! So this is our second stop in Montenegro. Yeah. We left Kotor behind and what was it like 30 or 40 minute bus ride. Yeah, ridiculously close. Yep. Probably our shortest travel day. Yeah. So far. And we're also really close to the Old Town. Like our apartment is a 15 minute walk. Yeah. So we've just walked down here and we're going to show you some different things you can in Budva in this travel guide. But first breakfast. Breakfast of course.
    Budva is a popular resort town that sits on the shores of the Adriatic Sea, so we started the morning off with a walk along the harbour where you can see everything from little fishing boats to luxury yachts. Though Budva is very close to Kotor, it has a very different feel so we’re going to take you on a quick day tour of the city and show you what it’s all about.
    Budva Old Town Beach may not be the prettiest to swim in, but you do get some nice views of the walled city with St. Ivan’s Church peeking above the fortifications, but now let’s continue up the coast.
    If you keep walking west along the coast, you’ll first come across the Ballerina Statue, also nicknamed Yoga Girl, keep following that path and it’ll bring you to Mogren Beach and Mogren 2, which are a bit sandier and less pebbly than the beach in the Old Town.
    The Old Town of Budva is situated on a rocky peninsula, with the citadel located on the southern tip of the city. There isn’t a lot of information about the site once you enter, but it’s worth the visit for the views of the Old Town alone.
    And that’s pretty much it for our tour of Budva. As you can see, the Old Town is quite small and compact, so you could easily cover it in half a day if you only had time for a day trip. We hope you enjoyed this quick tour and we’ll see you in the next video!

    In Europe coffees are small but so packed with punch and flavor. I swear I crave those coffees when I come back home. Only crappy coffees in the US.

      Right now, while I'm quarantined here at my house for weeks and it will still be for quite some time, I am trying to deflate and plan a scooter trip to the Balkans, with the intention of spending most of the weather in Montenegro (probably in Kotor). A curiosity: how is Podgorica? I have not seen many photos since I am more interested in the coast, but the ones I have seen do not make it seem something particularly beautiful.
      I very much hope to be able to make this crazy trip (as I like to do) in Montenegro.
      Greetings from Sanremo, Liguria, Italy!

      I was there in 1981 and in 1987. Had fried Calamari there for the first time in my life. They were quite nice! I remember a sign at the beach pointing towards the island. The sign said Hawaii. 😁

    Hi! I just spent 8 days in Montenegro with a wonderful family who guided us from Dubrovnik, Croatia to the Albanian border. The food was amazing, the weather wonderful, and the seawater an absolute joy to swim in! My wife and I loved it and will go back again someday. We also went on an inner trip to a high mountain peak where there was a tomb and a restaurant to visit. The surrounding villages were peaceful and quiet. The people were always helpful, and I felt safe which is important to everyone I suspect. We also went to Paris and I did not come away with the same impression. Lyon, France, on the other hand, was better IMO. Peace and happiness to you both!😎🌺

    Budva is one of the best hidden secrets in Europe. Of course the experience in off season will be different compared to July and August. It is the new Ibiza/Party town. Budva has 35 beaches, so half day would not cut it. The New York Times called Budva the #1 must visit place in 2018, I am not the biggest fan of that because I like it the way it is and I think every year it is getting more popular. Last year was really busy, so we will see how it will be this year.
    Jadran is good, if you walk thru the restaurant, on the other end is the beer and bike bar that is rather popular. Same owner has a also a restaurant in Sveti Stefan that is rather good and Sveti Stefan area is spectacular.
    Point of my long post, come back in the summer, I show you around!
    Edit: I should mention that there is a cat museum in the old town of Kotor, one of the strangest museums I have ever been too,lol

      Well, it's hard to really describe it. But you show the best places in town, those that might be the most attractive for tourist. But if you go about 1km from the beach it doesn't look nearly as good. And the deeper you go - the worse it gets.

      Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos That is great, your video's make me so excited 😅 I have watched a couple now. We are going to Dubrovnik, Split, Krka National Park, Trsteno, Mostar, the Vjetrenica cave, Budva and St. Stefan, Kotor, Brac island, Lokrum island and maybe a few tiny little islands and it is just so lovely seeing good quality video's about any of those places really, and the food is also very interesting. We did think that May would be perfect, not too hot but still warm and also still not in the main season so that will be great.

      Half day is crazy, I go for 6 weeks,lol. Sveti Stefan it is called and such a stunning area. Only 20 minutes from Budva, it is actually still Budva. As you can not access the island, there is a nice little restaurant by the beach, go upstairs for the views. From there walk towards Milocer, which is the Beverly Hills of Budva thru the pine forest for amazing views. It is a quick 15 min walk, just sit down along the way and take it all in. There is a shuttle bus between Budva and Sveti Stefan that runs every 10 min, could be less in May, just ask the driver

    Montenegro is a small state and they should respect all tourists all year round and not to keep premises opened when busy. I've watched this video as I am planning to go in October. I think I am going some place else.

    I do not understand why people go to the Adriatic in the winter time. Ok let's say you do not like the crowd and you like peace and quiet but off season is very, very depressing especially when it is rainy and cloudy.

    • @samuelandaudrey
      @samuelandaudrey  6 років тому +2

      It is still relatively warmer than other places in Europe I suppose.

    • @zli76
      @zli76 6 років тому

      I understand that but the feel is totally different and the sea is also cold for swimming so you are missing on that experience as well.

      But on the other hand I want to give you a big tumb up for your reviews. You are very detailed, prepared, you do a research, you try not to mispronounced the words, your editing is great. The only thing that I might not like is that you are very positive and dearly you have a negative critiques about anything. There must be something that you do not like. But you are Canadians and I probably understand why since Canadians are very polite in general.
