Forgot to mention in the video, but the first level is extremely clever in misleading the player. With the bob-omb I used to blow up the block with the powerup, the level creator made it look like you're supposed to use the bob-omb in the next section to blow up the goombrat enemy with the key. But you instead have to use the fire flower and know its trick to destroy the goombrat, which made this level especially difficult to figure out.
Not to mention the two arrows above the saw were an indicator for a midair shell jump in Mario Maker 1 to further confuse players, as that technique was patched in MM2
Man, i like the idea of a puzzle speedrun, but does it have any clue the fire flower was hidden on that block? Like, a fair puzzle gives clues, with no clues becomes more of a dev exit than a puzzle.
@@noysam3570: There is no editor in SMM2 and it took quite a while for third-party methods to be developed. There may well have been no way to view the inner workings when the level was first uploaded.
@@julien827 the average player will not do that. Heck, even some expert players will not do that till they get really tired of the level (just look at Panga's dealing with this level of crap design). If the above average player is forced to look at a program to being able to play your level properly, then your level is flawed and becomes unplayable for the average userbase players.
I tuned in to the stream during that second level, and you were having trouble with the spin jump off the block. I left the room for 2 minutes and when I came back the level was already complete! Glad I can finally see the rest of the level, props!

I remeber back in SMM 1 I did a difficult lvl to beat with typical mario bros skills. Like an level. I was very hard for me to upload only to see that 2 weeks after uploading the level was taken down bcs nintendo taught I had a hidden block I felt so desimetterd. I guess this happens when an lvl is too hard to beat with normal timer
There's a persisting issue while designing videogames, maps, enemies, etc. which is "How do I *not* turn my game into a puzzle game?" and this maker just made their "skill" level a puzzle level. Not even "cheeky" hidden or whatever, just a puzzle level.
i am fucking baffuled at the sheer skill at videogames of some individuals on earth. The amount of dedication is borderline scary. Also why'd you break the puzzle?
