I wouldn't say the owner was happy with the way you recived the painting, I sincerely hope he valued it at the post office but to me it looks priceless 😩
Very good for people to see this! People often try to save money on shipping by packing lightly. This is a huge mistake! Spend the money and ship properly! The last item that I shipped to Russia, made it fine. $80.00 to ship seemed expensive, but building a safe package ensures safety!
Alex another fantastic video very informative I love it when you and Thomas get together and I watch all of your videos, well the ones in English please keep it up it makes my day...
As always, a very interesting video. Keep them coming! I would think that someone who specializes in art restoration would be able to repair that painting but it would cost the owner a few $$. I have seen that artillery etch once before, an absolutely stunning blade!
That painting is not a goner! Take a high quality scan or photo of the painting as flat as you can get it, and with photo shop i can in fact get that crease out and save the image itself.
I'm a potter and shipping is a nightmare. The bayonet Tom sent, the tip poked a small hole in box...no damage. Wouldn't mention it yet the video covered package mishandling.
I just ordered a $1200 fez from wittman and they just threw it in a soft bubble wrap envelope. Not even in a box. Maybe wittman should ship their goods more securely. Thankfully it did arrive securely, but I couldn't believe they shipped nearly a $1200 fez in a bubble wrap envelope. Ironic. So thankful it wasnt damaged. I got lucky because it could have been ripped or damaged in that bubble wrap envelope.
I saw it on the website. It is a good original Fez. I own one as well. But that seems quite dangerous! Imagine you live in Europe or Australia. It can be damaged!
@@thilgu I had been wanting a fez for quite some time! I got very lucky it wasnt damaged. When I saw it in an envelope I was so worried. I got very lucky, no damage!
I have some old German daggers my dad brought back from ww2 has markings 2 has a skull ss markings with eagles on globe others has eagle & globe. 1 is very ornate has gold markings on blade. I often wondered how much their worth, i found this channel researching them
cosign. He sells them on his website. Keep 20% fee. The rest goes to the collector. His prices are quite high so the collector gets a good deal instead of selling it himself.
Alex I have an extremely rare item (sword) I would like to sell discreetly for a clinet of mine. Can you please advise how do I reach out to you privately? Cheers...
@@WarStoryRu Oh okay, I wish you well in you collecting journey! I have recently gotten a Gauleiter Car Pennant and I do not know if it is real, would Tom Wittmann know?

Good luck dealing with USPS on a damaged item like that.

To be completely honest, All of the Third Reich, (Nazi) stuff should all be melted down or burned!

Thank you Alex and Tom for a great Vlog. :))
A good painting restorer should be able to fix that.
Thanks Mister Wittmann...from switzerland
Tolles Video Danke

Oh yeah. Gotta package stuff very carefully.

Nice
breaks my damn heart
Just wondering if you might have any 1917 US Enfield bayonets? And not at way to crazy prices...like over 125.00 US??
So collectors send you items for valuation? Or is these items that you have purchased and forgotten what you bought?

i would like to hang out with these guys for a day.
I'm needing a scabbard for a k98 dress etched bayonet any help will be appreciated
It may be damaged but since the items destroyed by usps idiocy it’s still valuable .
👍🏻
So ein Päckchen hätt ich auch gern
Something that rare and valuable should of been boxed properly

Смотрел на русском и на английском языке но с удовольствием просмотрел ещё раз
Never send anything usps.
Isn't it if you 'DON'T' want to destroy them? i'm just confused a little ;)
Alex was being sarcastic , what's not to understand?
@@DeadChavez Oh lol right yeah, i mean it was probably late and my english isn't that good so ;). Btw nice odalrune on your picture from yt !
I just found this channel and find it very interesting. I’d love to buy a hitler youth knife but I’m afraid of getting a fake.
You like to use the word liberate, I noticed.
Collectors from England like use this word when they are talking about war souvenirs
