Guys, I just discovered your channel this past week and have truly enjoyed watching your reactions. I am an 83 year old ARMY and love BTS. (Some call me ARMY Grandma)Jimin is my bias. I was hoping you would react to this performance. To me, it is amazing. Each thing you see has a meaning; horses, lights coming downs from the ceiling etc. Each member represents a Greek god. I enjoy your channel. Keep the reactions coming.💜
This is why Grammy is not ready for BTS ! No western artist, can give a performance like BTS ! If BTS were to do a performance like this at Grammy. Wow Grammy will be shaking their heads. Why isn't BTS already winning Grammy awards already lol. Grammy can't afford to have BTS perform a show like this. Grammy isn't worth BTS talents and energy.
@@aaddaaa2934 you misunderstood his reply. He was saying that even if other Kpop group performs at Grammy still they can perform better than Western artists.
They are representing Greek Gods Tae: “Apollo” god of sun. Jin: “Athena" goddess of wisdom and war strategies (edit because makes WAY more sense since he enters on the Trojan Horse.. 😊 thank you guys! 💜) Jimin: “Artemis” goddess of moon. Yoongi: “Hephaestus” god of fire. Jungkook: “Poseidon” god of water. J-hope: “Zeus” god of thunder. Namjoon: “Dionysus” god of wine. By the way Apollo (V) and Artemis (Jimin) are twins.. it fits so well with Vmin! Soulmates! The constellation formed Corona Borealis, which is associated with the myth of Princess Ariadne of Crete. In the mythology, she marries Dionysus, and the constellation represents the crown she wore on her wedding day. The crown has 7 jewels on it, and myth says Dionysus decorated the sky with this crown when Ariadne died, which became Corona Borealis.
wow i knew about how each member represented the greek gods and goddesses but i didnt know about the constellation part. its amazing how they pay attention to detail, thats amazing. thank you for sharing!
Mariana BMCastro Wonderful explanation, especially about the constellation because a lot of people seem to miss that or don't know about it. Everything you said is correct except for Jin, though. He represented Athena, goddess of wisdom and strategic warfare, as evidenced by the Trojan horse he rode in on. In the myth, the Greeks built the Trojan horse as a "gift" for the Trojans with the inscription "For their return home, the Greeks dedicate this offering to Athena". And with it being accepted, that allowed the Greeks to storm the city of Troy and win the war, a perfect example of strategic warfare.
this performance is one of the best of bts in awards the guys are legendary even more because they won the awards they were 😍👑 i love part of jimin perfection in person ❤😍
The leopards weren't a random set design, Dionysus is often depicted as riding on the back of leopards as he traveled. Those leopards opened BTS's Speak Yourself tour.
This was not a concert. It was an award show and they had more than 40 minutes to perform on it. My fav performances of all time, esp Dionysus and its intro dances
I love how as soon as the horn blew you all said "Dionysus" at the same time! I love your reactions... thanks for this one. I never get tired of watching this performance.
Now we know that this was supposed to be their last awards show before they went to the military according to the timeline Jin gave in his vlive. So it makes so much more sense now.
This was from the annual Melon Music Awards, a Korean award show the equivalent to the Billboard awards, awards given here are held in as high esteem like the Grammys, though the MAMA awards are a better comparison. BTS swept the awards, thus closed the award show, though many other artists did indeed performed beforehand. The cost of the production for BTS entertainment company BigHit, was over 500K dollars, and all the in-house production team of BigHit started planning it over half a yr beforehand! Also most of the rehearsal time that BTS had was while they were touring worldwide. But they all were quite into doing this, and somehow managed to fit in the rehearsal like they did the yr before. All the solo performances were prerecorded live with smaller audience the day before, since there was no way to have these stage sets and tank pool of water let alone have JK who was performing the dance in water get dried and change clothes beforehand! Although all the members still did a live version of their solo performance while the VCR was streaming the prerecorded versions, since they felt the need to perform real time for the audience there. The only one who performed live only without benefit of VCR being shown, for the broadcasted version, was Jimin, who shows here being the phenomeno breathingly amazing professional dancer which he was before even signing on to BTS. Also certain songs like Mikrokosmos was performed live beforehand and also prerecorded so they could also allow for the special effects that only people who saw the broadcast on TV in South Korea or had it stream worldwide could see that version. Also the part with the live horses was filmed beforehand without an audience.
Nothing about this performance is random, every single thing was well calculated and put, it was clever and genius and they made us do some research to know the meaning behind it I enjoyed your reaction
This performance will always be one of my all time favourites!! Everything about this performance was absolute perfection!!! The guys delivered a top tier performance.
I know the whole performance may be a lot to take in or some might even think it's so random and over the top but everything you see in the performance has a meaning and symbolizes something related to the concept of the last song Dionysus and Greek mythology in general. Some symbols and things in this perf may even be connected to the BU. There's so much to unpack but here are some of the explanations theorized by armys of Greek descent. *Each member represents a greek god namely: V: “Apollo” god of sun. Jin: “Ares” god of war. Jimin: “Artemis” goddess of moon. Suga: “Hephaestus” god of fire. Jungkook: “Poseidon” god of water. J-hope: “Zeus” god of thunder. RM: “Dionysus” Thracian god of wine. *THE LIGHTS coming down after each member's solo performance represent the Corona Borealis, that part of the constellation that represents the crown worn by Princess Ariadne during her wedding with Dionysus. When all the 7 lights came together in the end, you will notice that they formed the Northern light constellation or the Corona Borealis, culminating to the Dionysus performance. *Army theorizes that Jin's part references the greek myth the Trojan Horse. *HORSES were revered as symbols of wealth, power, and status in ancient Greek mythology, but in general they also represent courage and freedom. They also symbolize the Thracians (where Dionysus came from), as they were known to raise the best horses (according to Homer's Iliad). *THE GIRLS SHOWERING THE FLOOR WITH FLOWERS are called "maenads", and they always accompany Dionysus. *THE HORN symbolizes the cup of Dionysus called "rhyton" *THE INFLATED JAGUARS, which Dionysus used to ride *THE VEILED MAN WITH A HORSE standing right in the middle, referenced Demaratus, a deposed king of Sparta who was humiliated by the new king in a gathering so he left the place wearing a veil, which according to ancient greek culture, is a non-verbal expression of anger. Some armys believe BTS is sending a strong message through this symbolism to show their resentment and anger at those in "power" who are throwing insults at them. That's why the veiled man was standing at the center in front of BTS who were sitting on the table. *Apollo and Artemis are twins so if you will notice V (Apollo) and Jimin (Artemis) were wearing one piece each of the same pair of earrings. For more explanations, here's a link to XCeleste, who also got a bunch of videos uploaded on her channel explaining the BU. I hope you can check this out: ua-cam.com/video/FolLKUkCoKQ/v-deo.html
I literally cried after watching this LIVE (ofc online) at that time because this is so overwhelming to me and especially when RM said "Are you ready for this, are you ready to get hyped up?" i just can see and feel the tiredness in his and their face but then they still killed it and never lose their energy from the beginning to end.
Yeah I remember jimin saying that they were really tired and they worked really hard for this performance ( they work hard for every performance though)and it turned out one of the legendary performance
Was anyone watching this and just biting their knuckles and thinking just you wait for the horses…yes I said horses!!! Absolutely love this performance!!! I just amAzed that if one person of the seven had been any different and I swear it wouldn’t be BTS! When Jungkook actually “believes I am the manifestation of all 6 of their personalities”….you know you are watching greatness! I love boyband music…My teenage years were all about NKOTB! But I I honestly don’t think BTS is a boy band in any way or it shouldn’t be categorized as POP! They are the GENRE! They each have their strengths and weaknesses and they as a group of 7 make the best team I have ever seen! 7 shouldn’t work to many voices and not enough time in any given song…but my GOD do they make it work beautifully! I can’t wait to share this music with my daughters and grandchildren! Thanks you guys for making this Grandma ARMY smile!!! 💜💜💜
It's also a "gun". In Boy With Love the choreo is supposed to end with focus on JK's hand changing from "gun" to "I love you" sign, but because of broadcasting laws the award show didn't show JK's *tattooed* hand, so you didn't see the change(only his hand changed in the choreo). They've used this gun hand symbol since debut as part of the bulletproof concept.

Let them perform like this at the Grammys and all of those western artists will be sat for sure. Their show is incredible and they are performance kings 💜
And to think this was an award show performance, not a BTS concert. LOL. This performance is the reason I don't like watching American award shows anymore. They don't have top notch productions like this. I really hope they do something special for their upcoming Grammy performance.
this was legit top tier performance for bts. so happy i got the chance to see this live. the one broadcasted is combination of live performance and pre-recording. the pre-recorded one was also shown on the led screen at the venue. while it is being shown, bts still performs live. so literally, the live audience can see 2 performance. bts always does this so that those who came to see them perform will see them do it live. so yeah, there were no real horses during the award show.
One of the things that I loved about that year's *award show* (not concert, despite all the ARMY bomb lights you see in the audience, lol!) was that besides this epic 37+minutes performance, their company's new rookie boy group, TXT, (BTS's first "little brother" group), AND rookie group ATEEZ(from a competing agency) both performed covers of BTS songs😆😍! It was an EPIC show.
The whole performance BTS so good they like Computers right now set up everything stage like is giving me MJ mtv award vibes like they not playing around
LOL! I guess it depends on if he is TaeTae who is sweet, goofy and funny verses Taehyung or V in which he is definitely a hot, sexy villain. Good Boy vs Bad Boy! 😏
I love my boys 💜 V is my bias he always kills it, they all do. V lookin like he’s a damn vampire 😍 Let’s be honest it’s not an award show, it’s their concert. They make anything their concert and I love it.
V:God of the sun Apollo Jin:God of War Ares Jimin:God of The moon Artemis Apollo twins Suga:God of Fire Hephaestus Jungkook:God of water Poseidon Jhope:God of Thunder Zeus Rm:God of Wine Dionysus
❤️Jimin's solo performance, wearing a modernized hanbok just fastened by ties only, had many different dance elements in it! Including the barrel leaps taken from Korean dance elements, some martial arts elements, (trained for 8 yrs in various forms w/blackbelt in Taekwondo), & of course contemporary dance. Also, equally ever so stunningly outstanding, was Jimin's scarf work, which is alone so hard to master, without getting that ever so thin veil of a scarf all tangled! Jimin somehow was able to make the scarf one with himself, using it as an extension, even at one point when he did that amazing jump leap straight up the scarf becoming his wings!! Jimin's whole performance was so amazingly stunningly beautiful. Just so effortlessly breathtakingly mesmerizing to see!!!!
this bts performance is very legendary, spectacular😍❤ no wonder they are called bosses in performances they rock.💜👑 oh the perfection of jimin's performance 😍👌thanks for that guys
Guys, that last song is called "Dionysus", who was the Greek God of wine, harvest, winemaking, orchards and fruit, vegetation, fertility, insanity, ritual madness, and religious ecstasy. This explains everything doesn't it?
I learn "hardwork" word is from BTS 🥺love your reaction bro💜 anyway i only watch your BTS's reaction but i already subscribe.I hope your Chanel growing next day
Award show but it look like a Bts Concert.. thats how Bighit prepared for bts Performance in Award Show.. they Gave them all to thanks All the Fans and Army..!!
OTRO: TEAR English subtitles at Wembley!!!! OMG THIS IS AN EPIC RAP-LINE song! This song is lyrically insane!!! Forever YOUNG is another live version from Wembley! EUPHORIA from Wembley is just masterful!
To burst your bubble just a tiny bit, several parts of this were pre-recorded before the live show. The ones I know were pre-recorded are Mikrokosmos, Jungkook’s water dancing, and the big opening that had the horses. There may have been more. I don’t think that diminishes this performance in the slightest. It’s epic in every sense of the word. Nobody does it like BTS.
@@MidnightxCrow The fancam that hit the hardest is where they look like a row of kings on their thrones at the end of Dionysus and then the lights go out and they completely fall apart with exhaustion and probably pain. They strive for- and almost always achieve- perfection in their performance so it’s sometimes hard to remember just how much it takes out of them. They push themselves to the absolute limit.
Did you know BTS actually have a boy in luv la version video directed by Warren G for this song? BTS was on a reality show called American Hustle Life in 2014 in which they traveled to LA and was there for 2 weeks to learn more about HipHop. They had to go out on the streets to recruit women and cast them to be in their Boy in Luv LA Edition directed by Warren G.
If you're unfamiliar with it, it seems random, but it's very much so not. Namjoon begins with Intro: Persona, which was a new song from that year and introduces the entire Map of the Soul concept. It also samples their song Intro: Skool Luv Affair from 2014 that introduces the Skool Luv Affair album that the song Boy in Luv is on. BTS then perform Boy in Luv. The Boy in Luv ending choreography pose is the starting pose of Boy With Luv, as one aspect of Boy With Luv is that it's a response/continuation of Boy In Luv - BTS are showcasing their history and past to then where they are today (in 2019, anyway). They continue with Mikrokosmos, another 2019 song from the Map of the Soul album. Then they each showcase individual stages using remixes of their old songs in order of release, continuing that journey through BTS' history, with each member also referencing Greek gods and each star dropping down representing the god Dionysus. They finally finish with the song Dionysus, from 2019's Map of the Soul album, which depicts BTS' history and present through its lyrics of using alcohol as a metaphor for art and comparing Dionysus' outcast struggles with their own. The lyrics even mention that BTS were "born as a K-Pop idol and reborn as an artist." The dance break again uses a remix of one of their first songs, to then end with a big display of who BTS are now, sitting at kings on top of the table. So, yeah. Extremely thought out and purposeful.
So this has probably been mentioned, but this is one of the major Music Awards in K-Pop. MMA stands for Melon Music Awards. Another major award is the MAMA, Mnet Asian Music Award. ((please correct me if I'm wrong)) BTS kills it on every performance for both MMA and MAMA. You should totally check out the 2016 MMA and MAMA, then go from there as they get bigger and better each year!
Here's the dance practice for this Dionysus performance ua-cam.com/video/bccr1BwNI0Y/v-deo.html You can really focus on the dance as a whole since the camera doesn't move and you get a really good look at how the background dancers are moving the props in and out. This one ua-cam.com/video/GYs4bRYZxIA/v-deo.html shows their individual dance breaks while this one ua-cam.com/video/GbUlWapHAuI/v-deo.html shows little bits of them with some comments by the members.
It all might feel random, but a lot of the items tie into past BTS lore/events Like I believe you guys had heard about the tie between Boy in Luv and Boy With Love (which had come out a few months before this performance) -Mikrokosmos during their tour that year was the last song of the concert and they had a giant disco ball suspended in the middle of the stadium that moved and cast all those stars on us, along with the army bombs sparkling in the stadium -Each of the solos was a journey through time and remixes as you already figured out -The jaguars were on the stage when they opened their concert with dionysus! There's obviously a lot of comments I'm sure too about the constellation and the lore of what each member probably means too. But I'm more in it for the music side of it. That goes over my head XD Anyways, the one thing I learned from being an army....is that there's ALWAYS a reason for everything BigHit puts out LOL. So we're all a little bit paranoid. P.S. where was the outro, how dare you, I didn't already spend enough time watching this 45 min video LOL
I saw my first reaction video today that you put out. I love your personalities and love your observations and appreciation of my favorite group. I am now a subscriber

I like all BTS’s MMA and MAMA live performances. You should react to MMA and MAMA from 2016 to 2020.
I remember my firstime watching this I was so shock and mesmerized it's so epic 🔥Then remember this is only an award show
Thank you and plz react on Jimin serendipity performance
One of the things that I loved about that year's *award show* (not concert, despite all the ARMY bomb lights you see in the audience, lol!) was that besides this epic 37+minutes performance, their company's new rookie boy group, TXT, (BTS's first "little brother" group), AND rookie group ATEEZ(from a competing agency) both performed covers of BTS songs😆😍! It was an EPIC show.
The whole performance BTS so good they like Computers right now set up everything stage like is giving me MJ mtv award vibes like they not playing around
V's favorite colours are green and brown and grey too
I never heard anyone call V an angel before lol when I see V I think of a sexy villain 😏
LOL! I guess it depends on if he is TaeTae who is sweet, goofy and funny verses Taehyung or V in which he is definitely a hot, sexy villain. Good Boy vs Bad Boy! 😏
Yes, he’s definitely the sexy villain we love more than the hero😆
@@houseofalex
"A villain that we love bruh" 😂
@@user-qd5gr8ql2w fixed!😜
@@houseofalex
No I actually was just quoting FOKpopSquad words when they were describing V I thought you would understand 😅
This is one of the best bts performance....I'm so happy
I love my boys 💜 V is my bias he always kills it, they all do. V lookin like he’s a damn vampire 😍 Let’s be honest it’s not an award show, it’s their concert. They make anything their concert and I love it.
V:God of the sun Apollo
Jin:God of War Ares
Jimin:God of The moon Artemis Apollo twins
Suga:God of Fire Hephaestus
Jungkook:God of water Poseidon
Jhope:God of Thunder Zeus
Rm:God of Wine Dionysus
Grandioso, como todo lo que hacen nuestros chicos.Son tan grandes y tan pequeños a la vez.Magistral.
this bts performance is very legendary, spectacular😍❤ no wonder they are called bosses in performances they rock.💜👑 oh the perfection of jimin's performance 😍👌thanks for that guys
Do MMA 2020 it's epice too. Even it was during covid it was awsome.
They look so Handsome Gentlemen fine Suits ❤❤❤
This was THE performance that proved nobody our there like BTS and nobody will ever be as great as BTS
Guys, that last song is called "Dionysus", who was the Greek God of wine, harvest, winemaking, orchards and fruit, vegetation, fertility, insanity, ritual madness, and religious ecstasy. This explains everything doesn't it?
I learn "hardwork" word is from BTS 🥺love your reaction bro💜 anyway i only watch your BTS's reaction but i already subscribe.I hope your Chanel growing next day
💜💜💜
Jimin so❤️❤️
all music song in their performence is BTS song... old n new song..just mix n remix...its super.great...thanks for reaction
You’re welcome❤️❤️❤️-Peter
EPIC PERFORMANCE HANDS DOWN! Still a classic performance from BTS 🤯👌💯
Award show but it look like a Bts Concert.. thats how Bighit prepared for bts Performance in Award Show.. they Gave them all to thanks All the Fans and Army..!!
This performance is amazing!
OTRO: TEAR English subtitles at Wembley!!!! OMG THIS IS AN EPIC RAP-LINE song! This song is lyrically insane!!! Forever YOUNG is another live version from Wembley! EUPHORIA from Wembley is just masterful!
Taehyung fave color is green indeed, or a hybrid of green and brown he said lol
A lesson to the western award shows about how it should be!!!
it was all LIVE, they used allots of drones for the special effects!
OMG JIMIN❤️❤️❤️
He performance is awesome 👏👍
The best performance!! Speechless right?! Thank you for reacting to this! 💜
Did you know BTS actually have a
boy in luv la version video directed by Warren G for this song?
BTS was on a reality show called American Hustle Life in 2014 in which they traveled to LA and was there for 2 weeks to learn more about HipHop. They had to go out on the streets to recruit women and cast them to be in their Boy in Luv LA Edition directed by Warren G.
WATCH TO THEIR 2018 MMA PERFORMANCE ITS SO AMAZING
They already reacted to that one. It’s the one before this.
They are excellent performers🥰🥰🥰👏👏👏
This is the performance that armys been waiting to the reactors😍 thank you
That entire description in the end was so on point ❤️
They were all different Greek gods at the end there is a storyline to that performance - fire, water, war, wind etc
Fabulous performance, they ALL shone in their own way, that's what I loved about it! ❤
Dude in the middle was almost borderline offended, til they explained...imo.
This performance has means it was a propose ceremony from BTS to ARMY.
All you see on stage has a meaning with them as greek Gods.
And if you want more... well there's a 2018, 2017, 2020
BTS always make awards night their concert💜
I remember jhope is skipping classes just to dance, and when he auditioned. Bang pd make him dance for 3 hours I think
It all might feel random, but a lot of the items tie into past BTS lore/events
Like I believe you guys had heard about the tie between Boy in Luv and Boy With Love (which had come out a few months before this performance)
-Mikrokosmos during their tour that year was the last song of the concert and they had a giant disco ball suspended in the middle of the stadium that moved and cast all those stars on us, along with the army bombs sparkling in the stadium
-Each of the solos was a journey through time and remixes as you already figured out
-The jaguars were on the stage when they opened their concert with dionysus!
There's obviously a lot of comments I'm sure too about the constellation and the lore of what each member probably means too. But I'm more in it for the music side of it. That goes over my head XD
Anyways, the one thing I learned from being an army....is that there's ALWAYS a reason for everything BigHit puts out LOL. So we're all a little bit paranoid.
P.S. where was the outro, how dare you, I didn't already spend enough time watching this 45 min video LOL
I saw my first reaction video today that you put out. I love your personalities and love your observations and appreciation of my favorite group. I am now a subscriber
Tremenda presentación 👏 solo bts lo hace .lejos los mejores los amo bts x siempre 💜 💜💜💜🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱
Nothing is impossible with HYBE and BTS!
love this performance
They delivered their passion itself.
YAY finally! yall are going to be shook
Hoho. My face is the same as your faces while watching this 😯🤩 I have watched this many times with diff reactors but I am still in awe haha! It is also fascinating to see your reactions because I can see your sense of respect and admiration towards them and just in awe of their performance, the same way as I feel, and how you kinda whisper to each other as if not to disturb the performance is funny 😂
Hello guys 😁glad for reacting MMA2019 full live. DIONYSUS Them BTS all the members represent different Greek Gods, the Goddess during their solo performances:💜 Borahae BTS💜Army✌️
"its the avengers" LMFAOOOOOOO
Dionysus is a Greek God so like ig that was the concept. They had a lot of people and horses onstage maybe to show their power and status
I'll stay up for this!
They are literally the best
Please react to Bts are literally soulmates, mcs falling for Kim taehyung, bts being done with vmin or vmin bickering moments, taekook being the most chaotic ship, taejin moments that make me soft and don't put bts Kim line in the same room
Jimin's I NEED U solo dance performance was the highlight of the show ✨ And Jimin's stage was the only real time live performance among individual performance. Experts say that even professional dancers tend to avoid using thin fabrics because it is too difficult to handle. I'm so proud of my Jiminieeee 👍👍
Just found your page, what I like to say everytime I see this performance is that it's was so great if BTS to let an award show take place at their concert.
Thanks for the reaction!
I'd stay up for this because I cannot wait to see you react to this beautiful masterpiece but since im so tired from work, I'll have to sleep. But I'll be back tomorrow to catch this! So happy to see you all react to more BTS content!
The looks on your faces at the end 😂😂😂.. Good reaction...
One the best perfomance🔥🤍💜💜💜👏🏻
