I'm excited for this series! I went to India 2 years ago with some friends out of pure curiosity. We didn't have much planned, but I had a local friend in country who helped us out so much with planning and things to do. I'm curious to see how your journey went
Watching your vlog reminded me of my awesome time in Kerala... :) I wen't for a budget option to explore backwaters though and took a private canoe ride, still worth it!

Brings back so many memories. We were there about 6 years ago and loved it. We didn't actually do a house boat but instead stayed at a tiny eco resort called Our Land. It was such a brilliant stay. Nice vid TJ! - Thomas
TJ you must come to India in the winters! you must go to Leh, Ladakh & Spiti Valley to enjoy the snow clad mountains and amazing scenery! and I don't think I can eat lamb again after seeing that goat! she was so cute!

Great work!
Thomas Kerwick omg this is the nicest comment!! He's definitely one of my favorite vloggers too, so to hear that from someone really means the world to me 😭 thank you so much for your kind words and for inspiring me to keep doing what I'm doing!!
Wow not going to lie TJ your intro in the beginning got to me and I could see it in your eyes too. I know the struggle of how hard the area may be. Thanks for doing what you do showing the places you go, but like you said its not worth the risk of the video sometimes. Keep up the good work!
It's beautiful there isn't it TJ? Brings back so many good memories of my trip on a houseboat there. Actual paradise! So good to disconnect for a while too! Beautiful video.
5:34 I am from Mumbai and Honestly I din know Kerala is so beautiful damn those house boats first time i seen I travel other countries but I never travel my own country which kinda bummer.
cool video I just happen by it and I love house boating. Relaxing and fishing and listening to music. And most of all writing more of the book I've been writing for the past 58 years I haven't a clue where all the pages are at...LOL... It's just the fun of writing it... It grand that you young ladies had a good time... Be blessed... BBE..
Oh TJ house boats are just nice & am just thinking how many more cities you will be travelling to in India coz more cities means more & varied food. Please do try the local cuisines of each city. Can't wait for your future vlogs.
CupofTJ awesome. Jaipur, Udaipur, Jaisalmer & Jodhpur are mesmerising. Please try the local food which is call daal ( lentil) baati ( wheat balls) & churma ( the very same wheat balls but with sugar ). As for snacks kachori ( savoury snack ).
I am more like a homeless wonderer !! When i travel i like to travel long distances ! I Often staying at cheap hotels, many time i slept on Railway stations and even sleep in Train at night !! Once i travelled a stretch of 4500 Km with just 6000 INR ( 100 US dollar ) in 2011 by Indian railway. I stayed over in 9 cities in Rajasthan !! .. I miss my college days !!
hehe you are so cute especially your reactions when you are eating ^^ You were so excited on that boat too and your friends are thinking "Yeah we get it TJ, but the boat hasn't even sailed yet" xD

I don't think they have over charged you. Its depends on the season and demand at that point of time I myself paid 10000 Rupees for a night out there in Alappuzha. Don't be disgusted. It is fine but you have to manage your trip properly stay at good hotels, don't visit the places which are not safe because India is a huge country you should know which places to visit and which places you shouldn't India is beautiful country but recently a UA-camr stayed at the cheapest hotel and near red light area of delhi where we don't go and encountered sexual assault so you have to make sure that you stay in good hotels good places where standard people live because India is very diverse country you will have the best experience of your life if you visit good places.. Have a great journey Love from india

I don't think it was overpriced, it depends upon number of rooms in the house boat , and tourism season
I love travelling like you and i am coming back to India from oman , middle. east
What was your opinion of the food quality in the boat? Kerala food seems quite different from the Indian cuisine you may be used to from another country. True?

We loved it :)!!
Tj you looks damn cute while eating.
A great love from an Indian guy to you and your videos, loved it😍😍
I'm soo sorry they overcharged you...I"m from Kerala, I live in Alappuzha, the houseboat place you went to...For two nights, it should be not more than 6000 Rupees aka 100 USD for all three of you.....I'm not sure why they wayyyyy overcharged you....you could add 2000 Rupees more for the ride from Kochi to Alappuzha ..
Please do more research online for the prices for any place you plan on going to Kerala...any place in Kerala shouldn't cost more than 100 USD....There is Munnar aka tea plantations you could visit, plus Elephant forest Thekkady and down south Trivandrum and varkala beach....Many more places to see..Good Luck...Enjoy :)
Dont know where in Allepy you get an overnight houseboat for 3000 per night.. Maybe some cheap, unlicensed, unsafe ones. The rates for one bedroom deluxe houseboats vary from around 8000 per night upto 12000.. Depends on the quality and service.. This didnt seem too bad. Maybe they overpaid a little but not too unreasonable when you add on the taxi fares all the way to Allepy.... You are quoting prices that are not reasonable or realistic and seeming to make it like these people got scammed.
Foreigners should stop coming to India.
Enna Kavi shut up
very wierd logic, it seems, you are clearly defininf, indians are piss poor and western people are rich, so they are obliged to pay for poor indian people?
capital the western tourists bring should be equated to their shopping, spending money for consumer goods and should never be equated to extra levied money on them for being rich and india being poor which is nothing but robbery and discrimination
Raj Kumar: What an idiot. Great way to get people to stop coming to your country with that attitude.
Thank you so much for visiting our state Kerala
It’s so beautiful place
You can travel north side of Kerala it’s more gorgeous
Next time you come with North Kerala also. Here is some awesome places and traditional activities
