@@FrostyDKGaming Probably not many other times, since (unless it's not canon), Plagueis was alive by the times of The Phantom Menace. In fact, he dies at the same time as Maul dies, so unless Palpatine had other secret apprentices before Maul, he couldn't pull that thing off with other apprentices.
I’d say the greatest most iconic villain of all time is The Joker. But not far behind is palpatine and then Vader. Everyone knows who the joker is, and his motive is second to none when it comes to pure evil.
"The Jedi taught their students to stay clear of the dark side, and thus became unfamiliar with the signs and what it looks like" This actually makes sense
No shit it makes sense it's the entire logical basis for all of Star Wars. Seriously. How do people manage to miss this? All throughout the lore, from the earliest days of the Jedi all the way up to the rise of Vader it's been made abundantly clear that the Jedi are fucking idiots. They're fixed in their ways and wilfully closed minded to the fullest nature of the Force. This is made very clear in the Darth Bane trilogy. The Sith are more powerful than the Jedi because they don't lie to themselves or try to run/hide from certain aspects of the Force. The Jedi CREATED the Sith Lords through ignorance, they allowed the Bane line to flourish through stupidity and arrogance, believing they had wiped out the Sith when really they did nothing of the sort. The Jedi created Vader too. They could have done sooooo much to stop it but no, poor stubborn little Jedi allowed the dark to fester because they were afraid to go near it. This is meant to be one of the central plot points of the Star Wars universe....
Yoda succumbed to his own slight ignorance, he was basically cloaked with knowledge and understand of the Old Republic's use of the Force yet only had suspicions.
Sidous was Chancellor for 10 years before the clone wars started while the jedi knew there was a sith lord. Count Dooku explicitely told Obi-Wan there was a Sith Lord ruling the Republic. And while you don´t have to take your enemy´s word at face value, the jedi could at least have checked Palpatine out. I mean, Obi-Wan was also sceptical toward him in EP2 when and anakin talked about him and the jedi, especially mace windu, were super anti-palpatine in episode 3 but they never suspected him before anakin told them. There is no excuse for that.
The Jedi council didn't ask Anakin to spy on Palpatine long after his office had finished. I can't believe you got 10 likes? Perhaps you have control of Senate/youtube?
Right, and the video explains why. The jedi were foolish and arrogant to think they have eradicated the sith, and instead of being aware of new threats, saw the sith as basically a folk tale because they saw themselves as saviors.
Also Grievous told Obi-Wan in a prophetic manner that whatever happened the Jedi were lost. That meant that Grievous was pretty well informed about the plot. Jedi were defeated by what they thought were their strengths: group thinking, liturgy, traditions, superiority. The real thing is that they were much better with lightsaber when they were in full rage and anger, totally against their beliefs.
Steve Mann The Jedi didn't even know that palpatine was playing chess on both sides of the board( he basically caused the conflict for war and pushed both sides into war and led the Jedi to give him political power he needed lol )
@@elvarias9730 Guess he shouldn't have provoked Anakin. Dookie should have killed when he had the chance. He could have fragged 2 Jedi's with in 5 mins but he chose not to. Sith lords usually just kill the Jedi. Maybe since they're all friends is why Dookie didn't. Or maybe cause it's really good for plot content hehe 😉
@@ifuckingfarted I would say Dooku is too classy for execution but he did try to finish Obi Wan before Anakin lunged to block his saber. So idk, maybe he sensed Yoda coming.
There are videos analyzing his behavior and theorizing that he was indeed a sith lord. He can be seen controlling people in several scenes. Remember that he is animated. Every single movement he makes was put there deliberately by the animators. Why would they waste time giving him random movements? He can clearly be seen holding up his hand and speaking silent words, as he literally uses other people as puppets to speak his will. His clumsiness is actually quite deliberate. He uses a form of drunken boxing to kill his opponents, while making it look like sheer luck. This is most obvious during the battle on Naboo, where he dispatches many droids by having a series of "accidents". How is it that such an insignificant being, with no political experience at all whatsoever gets a seat on the senate? He can be seen giving a speech in one of the later films. Why was he there? He was travelling with Palatine, who was actually his apprentice. Anyone in his presence was having their mind severely warped. Palpatine's true power was hidden, but Jar Jar was hidden far more, having Palpatine carry out his bidding, while playing the part of a simple creature. It's likely that George Lucas intended for this to be the case, but then backed out of the plan after Jar Jar received massive criticism from audiences after the first film was released. Fearing that people would not see the films, he scrapped the plan.
I think another significant reason Palpatine managed to slip under the radar, was misdirection. Duku himself played a major role in this. You stated yourself that a significant number of the more astute and powerful Jedi sensed that were in danger from within. When Duku rose up, many of them assumed him to be the Sith lord they sensed, which considering his past as a Jedi master, meant he was the one they were looking for for many of them, so they stopped looking and focused on stopping him. That's my thoughts on the matter anyway.
That was the beauty of Sidious’s design and the arrogance of the jedi... the rule of 2 meant there was always a master and an apprentice at any one time, but once they killed Dooku they forgot that there may be another Sith out there somewhere. Dooku even told Obi-Wan the truth when Kenobi was captured and tried to tell him he wasn’t the one they were looking for, but Obi-Wan didn’t believe him. “Your arrogance blinds you, Master Yoda...” Really interesting stuff, man
Palpatine/ Sidious was brilliantly deceptive in having the depleted Jedi to have those clone storm troopers fight alongside them in Attack of the Clones and portions of Revenge of the Sith. Count Duckoo also revealed to a captured Obi Wan that the Galactic Republic and Senate was now being controlled under a Sith Lord named Darth Sidious. AKA, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. Soon later to be known as Emperor Palpatine in Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Senator Palpatine also was brilliant in persuading Queen Amidala into overthrowing Chancellor Vallorem w/ a vote of no confidence. And having Palpatine replace Vallorem as Supreme Chancellor of the senate and the republic during the whole battle with the Trade Federation. And Palpatine was absolutely brilliant in using Anakin's lack of emotional control and fears to turn him into Darth Vader. Palpatine/ Sidious played Yoda, the jedi council, and the republic very well.
The presence of the Dark Side alone did not necessarily mean a person was a Sith though, as the former existed independently of the latter. The Sith were more of a religion devoted to he Dark Side and evil wizards who used it for their ends, but there were dark-siders who were not Sith, and it existed with or without them. The same way as the light side would always exist even if there were no Jedi.
Palpatine and Plagueis cast a great dark spell to obscure their actions and to lessen the Jedi's powers, which is part of the reason Anakin was so strong; it was the Force balancing itself out after the light side was weakened.
You put so much effort, thought, and you strive to make your videos interesting each time. Much respect, that's something most people struggle to do. Love it dude.
5:31 If I have a kid, I look forward to using this. "Daddy, what's the point in being patient?" "Well, sweetie, it was LOTS AND LOTS of patience that led to the Sith defeating the Jedi and taking over the galaxy." "..." (I will be a great dad.)
The answer is right in front of everyone. In my opinion, the video is partially right, but not completely. I do enjoy the perspective of "Yoda possibly making a mistake," on having Jedi ignore or block out the force but I don't feel its the case. The concept of the Jedi Trials is a direct "contradiction" to this hypothesis. The Trials are supposed to test a Jedi's resolve against isolation, anger, betrayal and vengeance which requires experience the effects of the Darkside. Luke's own trial was really no different except more severe than most (his father was Darth Vader). But his training was basically the same. Also, Yoda may be the most powerful and mysterious Jedi master, he is still only one person playing a role in a much larger destiny unfolding. It would take far more than Yoda to prevent everything from unraveling. Qui Gon Jinn made a very interesting point, "Your focus determines your reality." The reason why the jedi could not accurately sense Palpatine is because (as the answer was given in the prequels), the darkside had clouded their vision. Too clarify this, its basically the Jedi who were actually responsible for losing their vision, not Palpatine or the Darkside directly. After all! Good and Evil! There never is one without the other! No matter how long the galaxy has been at peace. What had happened is that, over a prolong period of time, the Jedi had become complacent and set in their ways (predictability is not the actual reason but a by-product of the reason). The Jedi had become too confident in themselves which was basically somewhat 'arrogant' and even a little bit 'prideful' in themselves. You get hints of this all throughout the prequels including doubts of the Sith's return; or when Mace Windu said that it's not in Count Dooku's character to order an assassination on Padme; or when Jocasta Nu replied to obi won about not locating Kamino in the Jedi Archives, "If its not in our records, it doesn't exist!" Perfect representations of the mentality that had developed around the Jedi order. After all, they hadn't faced the SIth in a very long time. They had not fought any major battles that threatened the galaxy. So as things sit, they whither with age. This is not to say the Jedi turned bad. Its just saying they had weakened over time. As Merlin says in Excalibur, "its the doom of men that they forget!" So true, So true. Palpatine may or may not have been the most powerful Sith to exist. But he had a few things to his advantage. Timing, Prowess, smarts, determination and political charisma. Timing was his greatest advantage! The time was perfect for change. The Jedi's complacency allowed Palpatine to work underneath the Jedi's nose and slowly corrupt politicians and the system to his cause. The more corruption and disruption took hold, the more distractions the Jedi had to deal with. The more scattered they were. What Lucas basically did was bring in the classic "King Arthur: Knights of the Roundtable,' approach. Where the Knights united the lands, brought peace and prosperity, and ushered in a new error of tranquility only to later get drunk, complacent and eventually evil returned. Sorry for the long explanation everyone.
If only the Jedi could've seen this video before they were purged. Things would've been a whole lot different. That gives me an idea: What if the Jedi found out that Palpatine was a Sith before the Clone Wars?
***** I agree somewhat I just have an awful feeling that they got the wrong actor for Kylo Ren. Mask on he's badass mask off meh lol he seem like he reminds me of Anikan Skywalker. I'm also not a big fan of Snoke as of now but I want to wait for all three movies to come out before I cast final judgment on them. Also hope they make a Darth Maul stand alone movie should've kept him instead of Dooku.
Just well done, I like all your videos that I have watched so far. You do really well not only with your scripting but also with the video matching up scenes with your script. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication. Well done.
Additionally, I remember reading many years ago that is that Force opposites cancel each other out. Yoda hid on Dagobah in large part because of the Dark Side cave...the place where a Dark Jedi (Sith had yet to be invented in the EU) was defeated... leaving the cave suffused with his dark essence. This had the effect of canceling out Yoda's powerful Force presence and was just as important in hiding him as Dagobah's remoteness. As for Palpatine, he was given an ancient and powerful Holocron when he was young, from which he learned many lost tricks and skills of the Jedi/Sith. The Holocron was also suffused with the Light Side and had helped cancel out Palpatine's Dark Side disturbance, helping to hide him from the Jedi on Coruscant.
Thank you for this ! When I watched those 3 prequels, always when I saw Palpatine in very presence of Jedis I just could not believe they could not sense dark force in him ! Even I when I still didn`t knew about his true nature sensed something odd about him, but most shocking is that even Yoda in his very presence remain completely blind to presence of dark side behind the Palpatine ! I was just WTF !!!
Its possible that career politicians were naturally leaning to the dark side because most are consumed by greed and ambition. Sensing that and brushing it off would be a bit of a stertch.
Figures like palpatine are too smart to attack and announce "hey I am a sith lord and I want to destroy democracy and the Republic as a whole by doing it inside out and I also want UNLIMITED POWAHHH". Although he did exactly that when the jedi were as clueless as ever.
I've always believed that he always looked disfigured and it wasn't from taking the bolt damage. More so that he was using an illusion throughout Episode 1 and 2 of his appearance and he only revealed it to blame the Jedi for disfiguring him. Releasing his illusion when he was being attacked to make Anikan more sympathetic. And of course... "left me scared and deformed" as he addresses the Senate.
T-Bone He used force alchemy, camouflueging his body and his face. It was the main reason they didn't see him as a sith, I don't actually know why it was not mentioned in the video. Poorly done
Yep, most likely. Extensive use of the Dark Side has been known to make people physically weaker (though they can still draw upon it for a temporary boost) and malformed.
That makes a good con artist, but without the ability to confront windu and yoda with the lightsaber he wouldn't come to nothing. Even his plot would've ended with his dead.
You must admit that Palpatine is one hell of a brilliant strategist. He made sure that events happened as he had planned. Although in the end he did not foresee the strength of the bond between Luke and Vader (son and father).
Yoda: "Blind we are, if creation of this clone army we could not see." Count Dooku: "The dark side has clouded their vision." Yoda again: "The shroud of the dark side has fallen." Why do we need a six minute video explaining this? It's explained in the movies.
Also the book " Darth plaguies " sidious and plaguies literally made a whole in force making The Jedi force sights of the Galaxy basically making sidious and plaguies invisible, they meditated for 2 weeks straight without eating, tenberous and his master did the same thing but on a smaller scale, hence the reason why mace windu says "I think it is time we inform the senate that our ability to use the force has diminished" which yoda goes to say "
+PriMe MachiNe still tho considering that if the force was in balance the rule of two made the sith as equal as the jedi at the time and im glad this video cleared up so much to the contemporary fan about the movie canon. in the eu, palpatine was op af, being able to make force storms and shit. even go so far as to be able to transfer his conscience into a dif body. Plaguies was deceived by his own apprentice. The almost perfect Sith, Sidious.
+Tengku Aliff well not really, force storm was a last ditched effort which ended killing him and destroying his own fleet, as for cheating death, the technique he used is called Essenes transfer, and it's been done many time in the past, but the fist Sith to do it and create it was Darth annedue, then Darth vitiate did it( his feats were better then sidious because he achieved god like life by stealing the force life of every single living thing of his home planet) then came Darth bane who would have survived, but he tried to take the body of his apprentice Darth zannah, but in a way he hoped he would die so that his rule of two would live on.
PriMe MachiNe Yes i am aware of that story. But in the sense that he triumph to be close to Krayt's rule of one without the implementation. I wouldn't go too much in the lore to defend this but i think u get my point. The idea that the Sith at the time of the twilight of the Republic to the transition to the Empire, was to be considered equal to the jedi in terms of power then Anakin finally tipped the favor and ended the balance itself. To me, Palpatine as an individual who was at his time one of the most powerful force wielders, rivaled by the Skywalker bloodline.
I’d love to ask Palpatine:”What do you live for, if you achieved immortality beyond the shadow of a doubt, unlimited power, then what..... then what do you want?”
hmm, if destiny is destiny then nothing could have changed his turn. but i like to think that if he had reached the rank of master he would have felt more accepted among is colleagues and might not have turned. although the darkness was already very much there inside him, remember the slavers that kidnapped his mother? he mowed them down as a padawan. maybe if qui gon lived he might have not have.
@Sam Salem Even if he was promoted I think he still would have turned because the anger and low self esteem was still there, he just would have found something else to complain about that he didn't have to make him "happy", something else he "wanted" but couldn't have that would have drove him over the edge... such as, the power to save Padme. Even if he was a master, he still had the dreams and felt he wasn't strong enough.
What sort of totally sick bastard decided to call that particular speech impediment a "lisp" anyway?? People who have it can't pronounce it and say "lithp"
I really like context and explanations to explain the fall of Jedi. before, I always ciriticised Jedi's for being so ignorant and now it adds a layer and insight to it.
Where has it been stated? And don't point at stupid books and games and shit, point in the movies where it's been stated, because that's all that really matters. Most people don't have the time or care enough to read all of the stupid books that "explain" all the plot holes in these movies.
yourface1218 of course it's been stated in the books and games who cares about the shitty fucking movies they can't even not contradict each other and don't get me started about the gay new cannon
+Accel Partly yes and partly no. The Jedi in a sense screwed the Jedi over, because their practices and training became so rigid and predictable. In comparison to the Sith, who were constantly adapting and advancing their methods over 1000 years.
Yeah, Jedi were too arrogant even to the early days on Typhon the always thought the light was better then the dark. Sith were arrogant too yet you can say they earned it since if you survived your training and was able to wake the next day because somebody didn't try to kill you in your sleep. You'll feel kinda like you earned your place. Jedi overall have a lot of "Masters" That never really fought in battle or studied tactics. While Sith were steeped in war, lore and survival. Jedi kept the peace so hard they forgot war which is why the clone war and the war after that were worse compared to wars in the Old Republic Era. In those days everybody were pretty much even since normal people had to learn to deal with force users and force users had to adapt to all sorts of force techniques and technology crafted to counter their abilities. Jedi seeking peace above all else ruined Jedi, While the rule of two destroyed the Sith.
Beast Titan Windu was the one who did not trust Anakin or the Senate to make their own decisions. He was even prideful and did not inform the other Jedi what was going on since he did not trust Anakin.
He actually was present in naboo for a few second at the end of revenge of the sith with Padme as she is shown in her....burial....or was that just some random gungan?
5:00 so, when the time was ripe, he didn't hesitate at all, first revealing his true nature to Anakin and then fighting to death with whomever was on his path. That is a great lesson on grand strategy master implementation.
If someone could answer this, I would be grateful: What would have transpired if Palpatine had failed to assassinate Plagueis, would have he been killed in the process, and most importantly, how would the story develop? P.S. Thank you for your amazing work and content, it's always thought out and newer has left anything unanswered (for me at least)
Thank you! and very tough question, I assume Plagueis would have fled after a failed assassination and plotted to destroy Palpatine but at the same time Palpatine would plot to finish off Plagueis, it might have concluded with a war of the SIth.
I thought as much, thank you for confirming. One last question if I may - it's clear that Plagueis would ultimately kill Palatine, but what I always have intrigued about is, if that had happened would Plagueis seek out Anakin? Since he is the chosen one. Sorry for the long question
Darth Plagueis was assassinated in his sleep because, as incredibly powerful as he was in the Force, he simply made the mistake of trusting his apprentice too much, so he turned on him. That is the way of the Sith. My guess is that if somehow he would have woken up and successfully driven off Sidious, Plaguis would have taken on another apprentice, but it's obvious he was getting too peaceful to successfully remain a sith lord for very much longer.
plagueis was a very strong sith, no doubt he would have found anakin eventually. but palpatine was also very strong but also possessed sometihng plagueis didnt have. the power of words! plagueis had the money from the banking clans if i remember correctly. and palpatine had the political chops to raise up the ranks. all plagueis did in his last years was work on old experiments trying to prolong his life for as long as possible. so i think, yes. if he ended up killing palpatine he would search for anakin in a hurry because the dude was getting old and weak. he got drunk at a party and crashed out on the couch pretty much right before palpatine took him out!
Yoda did similar style when he used a walking stick to get around, but when fighting count Doku Yoda did backflips and alsorts of crazy manuvers which was not befitting for someone who uses a walking stick...Only when the FORCE was activated he could perform abilities which were "unnatural"
Daniel anyone following the original Expanded Universe was well aware of the beautiful intertwining continuity. It was the primary appeal next to the fantastic writing. There has been a continuity department in place ever since the 1990s led by Kim Kennedy. Any new author was given direction about taboo subjects, along with their final work being edited to ensure proper terminology, functionality, & continuity were maintained. You are 100% incorrect. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The continuity errors existed before this team was established back when the term 'expanded universe' did not even exist. This was before the 1990s where tv children specials, unconnected projects renting branding rights, & sloppy effort by hired creators manifested a mess. It was then repeated in the early 2000s when too many games were being created all trying to outdo each other with hugely important characters previously absent. The novels never had this problem. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The previously existent continuity department created a fluid atmosphere where new books were easily inserted between various trilogies without conflict. In fact such installments unveiled sensational insights & richer details of their surrounding stories making fans excited about every new project. Once Lucas decided to make the prequels, a slew of video games were created which mimicked the 1980s sloppy mess. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The old canon was tossed out primarily due to Disney wanting to have free rein to maximize their newly purchased franchise instead of wrestling with a timeline stretching over 10k in the past & 100s of years into the future. Initially I blamed Abrams for this since he did the same to Star Trek, proudly attempting to make a Star Trek movie for people who don't like Star Trek. Afterwards he pushed to erase all previous ST canon & place his own script as the primary source material. Suddenly the same bullshit occurs in Star Wars the exact moment he is given the power to direct the new movies. However I found an article citing Disney's motivations. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Although their stance makes sense on paper, they have so far butchered the greatest aspect of the Star Wars franchise they bought, because everyone except the most ignorant knew the Expanded Universe was better than the movies themselves. Try reading the novels & see for yourself.
What I can learn from this video? Never build a sanctuary over a place that was once used by evil forces. I never thought that the Jedi temple on Coruscant was built on top of a Sith stronghold.
Jedi , both light and dark side can practice a technique to make their presence small in the force ! Palpatine was able to use this technique , as could Obi Wan , and many other Jedi and Sith have been excellent at using this technique ... this is pretty basic and nothing special !
I just assumed he just refrained from playing sinister theme music in their presence all of the time like vader does.

Steve Mann The Jedi didn't even know that palpatine was playing chess on both sides of the board( he basically caused the conflict for war and pushed both sides into war and led the Jedi to give him political power he needed lol )
Koi Teves thats some real 4D thinking. He was on a whole other level
Or he could have played with anger (a dark side trait) and made a few blunders and lose
that’s not how chess works
Koi Teves Hegalian dialectic
It’s happened in real life too

+The Stupendous Wave hello so this vid is about palpatine. Right? So when I looked at the comment number, it was 66 (order 66). XD
Nice!
count dooku gave a much simpler answer, ' the dark side of the force has clouded there vision'
If only he survived, things could of turned around
@@elvarias9730 Guess he shouldn't have provoked Anakin. Dookie should have killed when he had the chance. He could have fragged 2 Jedi's with in 5 mins but he chose not to. Sith lords usually just kill the Jedi. Maybe since they're all friends is why Dookie didn't. Or maybe cause it's really good for plot content hehe 😉
@@ifuckingfarted I would say Dooku is too classy for execution but he did try to finish Obi Wan before Anakin lunged to block his saber. So idk, maybe he sensed Yoda coming.
@@aquarius4884 Good point.
Has the dark side of the force also clouded your ability to spell, and use proper punctuation and grammar?
It was his cologne. He was wearing "Eternity" for Sith lords.

Palpatine acting clumsy. What does this remind me of... Let's see, oh of course! "Mesa... Clumsy." Jar Jar is the dark lord!
Yep all is going to plan. Jar Jar and the Jawa Sith shall rule.
+magetaaaaaa Also at Qui Gonn's funeral he smiles reaaally creepily.
JAR JAR =PLAGUIS=SNOKE
Jar Jar was one of Anakin's "fathers", Anakin was a genetically engineered test tube baby.
man, everytime i see one of your vids on my newsfeed, my days suddenly get a lot better!!
Awesome! Glad I could help:)
+The Stupendous Wave Here's a question. Why were the Clone Troopers replaced with the Stormtroopers?
Because Clone Troopers aged more quickly than regular humans.
+Seth Bednar Palpatine considered clones less human and second class so he did not want them in his army
Mark Muchane Don't forget about the ageing though.
Nailed it 💯....
“Your arrogance blinds you, Master Yoda...” Really interesting stuff, man
Yeah, but Dooku himself also tells Obi Wan about a Sith Lord named Sidious, though not many Jedi knew this
Palpatine/ Sidious was brilliantly deceptive in having the depleted Jedi to have those clone storm troopers fight alongside them in Attack of the Clones and portions of Revenge of the Sith.
Paul Page unfortunately for the jedi, the secret sith lord known as Darth Sidious is friggin smart for a sith lord...
Paul Page sadly I have to agree
Mace Windu: "The Dark Side of the Force surrounds the Chancellor"
Me: "Say that again...but slowly"
The presence of the Dark Side alone did not necessarily mean a person was a Sith though, as the former existed independently of the latter. The Sith were more of a religion devoted to he Dark Side and evil wizards who used it for their ends, but there were dark-siders who were not Sith, and it existed with or without them. The same way as the light side would always exist even if there were no Jedi.
the main reason why Jedi couldn't Sense Palpatine.

Palpatine and Plagueis cast a great dark spell to obscure their actions and to lessen the Jedi's powers, which is part of the reason Anakin was so strong; it was the Force balancing itself out after the light side was weakened.

UA-cam finally gave me a suggestion I am actually interested in. Well thought out and interesting. Thanks for making the videos.
That was a very good example
Awesome explanation love the merlin reference great movie
If only the Jedi could've seen this video before they were purged. Things would've been a whole lot different. That gives me an idea: What if the Jedi found out that Palpatine was a Sith before the Clone Wars?

Anakin... you legetimatly need a psychologist... you got some borderline personality disorder.
Don't do this Anakin. I loved you!
Ahsoka: "To defeat your enemy you have to understand them" truly a great understanding in this video.

It is alluded to that the dark side surrounded Palpatine but they not have understood its significance!
Honestly, none of these explanations are good enough for me...... I’m still at WTF.....😂
Figures like palpatine are too smart to attack and announce "hey I am a sith lord and I want to destroy democracy and the Republic as a whole by doing it inside out and I also want UNLIMITED POWAHHH". Although he did exactly that when the jedi were as clueless as ever.
Well the audience is supposed to know. Kind of.
It's very simple. The plot demanded it.
Not that much of a Star Wars fan, but i love learning new things, backround and characters in the lore. Keep up the good work.
Poorly done
I imagine plenty of people have been zapped by force lightning and didn't get disfigured like that too.
Yep, most likely. Extensive use of the Dark Side has been known to make people physically weaker (though they can still draw upon it for a temporary boost) and malformed.
SHHHH. IT’S A SECRET.
Nobody:
Palpatine: Dew it!
Yoda: "Blind we are, if creation of this clone army we could not see."
Count Dooku: "The dark side has clouded their vision."
Yoda again: "The shroud of the dark side has fallen."
Why do we need a six minute video explaining this? It's explained in the movies.
Also the book " Darth plaguies " sidious and plaguies literally made a whole in force making The Jedi force sights of the Galaxy basically making sidious and plaguies invisible, they meditated for 2 weeks straight without eating, tenberous and his master did the same thing but on a smaller scale, hence the reason why mace windu says "I think it is time we inform the senate that our ability to use the force has diminished" which yoda goes to say "
This might not make sense to people who are not deep with the Star Wars lore
I want to read that book so bad, it is really good right?
03:57 the Guy to the right looks just like Zlatan Ibrahimovic

what if anakin was promoted to master by the council
+StaRKiLLer CoD he was a jedi knight not a master. The fact that he had a padawan doesn't make him a master.
+Anakin Skywalker He means for a what if video not that it actually happened
+Anakin Skywalker do you know what promote means?
hmm, if destiny is destiny then nothing could have changed his turn. but i like to think that if he had reached the rank of master he would have felt more accepted among is colleagues and might not have turned. although the darkness was already very much there inside him, remember the slavers that kidnapped his mother? he mowed them down as a padawan. maybe if qui gon lived he might have not have.

I really like context and explanations to explain the fall of Jedi. before, I always ciriticised Jedi's for being so ignorant and now it adds a layer and insight to it.
The Jedi can't sense Palpatine because somewhere in the galaxy, some Star Wars fanboy has got a theory for everything Star Wars
kalasend it's not a theory if it has been stated
kalasend most of the "theories" you see in those UA-cam videos just qoute shit from books and games and movies
Lol
Where has it been stated? And don't point at stupid books and games and shit, point in the movies where it's been stated, because that's all that really matters. Most people don't have the time or care enough to read all of the stupid books that "explain" all the plot holes in these movies.
yourface1218 of course it's been stated in the books and games who cares about the shitty fucking movies they can't even not contradict each other and don't get me started about the gay new cannon
I've been a Star Wars fan since I was a little kid and this video was very enlightening, great job!
F*ckin' Anakin, he ruined the Jedi as much as Palpatine did.

I have new idea for video. Did luke know that he have grandparents from padmes side. And did he meet them after fall of empire?
I would like to know that too!

+PriMe MachiNe Padmes parents look on 50 years old in ROTS. They probably lived after defeat of empire. But padme has also sister.
the most likely die when the Empire destroyed Alderaan
They live on Naboo.. not Alderaan.
5:00 so, when the time was ripe, he didn't hesitate at all, first revealing his true nature to Anakin and then fighting to death with whomever was on his path. That is a great lesson on grand strategy master implementation.
If someone could answer this, I would be grateful:
What would have transpired if Palpatine had failed to assassinate Plagueis, would have he been killed in the process, and most importantly, how would the story develop?
What if Jango Fett survived?
Darth Plagueis was assassinated in his sleep because, as incredibly powerful as he was in the Force, he simply made the mistake of trusting his apprentice too much, so he turned on him. That is the way of the Sith. My guess is that if somehow he would have woken up and successfully driven off Sidious, Plaguis would have taken on another apprentice, but it's obvious he was getting too peaceful to successfully remain a sith lord for very much longer.
plagueis was a very strong sith, no doubt he would have found anakin eventually. but palpatine was also very strong but also possessed sometihng plagueis didnt have. the power of words! plagueis had the money from the banking clans if i remember correctly. and palpatine had the political chops to raise up the ranks. all plagueis did in his last years was work on old experiments trying to prolong his life for as long as possible. so i think, yes. if he ended up killing palpatine he would search for anakin in a hurry because the dude was getting old and weak. he got drunk at a party and crashed out on the couch pretty much right before palpatine took him out!
because the dark side clouds everything.
Yoda did similar style when he used a walking stick to get around, but when fighting count Doku Yoda did backflips and alsorts of crazy manuvers which was not befitting for someone who uses a walking stick...Only when the FORCE was activated he could perform abilities which were "unnatural"
I'd rather have a movie that focuses completely on the sith than one of Han Solo or Bubba Fett.
Simple explanation: plot convenience
Very intriguing video. I never thought about Star Wars in this fashion until I watched this video

woah! if greedo shot first things would be so different! I mean it was because Han sh-... oh wait
+The Stupendous Wave, why wasn't Darth Maul a bigger part of the films? He's a freakin amazing character, one that had TONS of potential....
Noah Long Yeah, then they completely ruined him by bringing him back in The Clone Wars Series and Star Wars Rebels Series... should've left him alone.
Justin Yatsko I've seen bits of those....how did those ruin him?
Justin Yatsko No, Darth Maul is way better now
Justin Yatsko The show didn't ruin him at all
Because he fucked with Obi-Wan, bro. You dont fuck with Obi-Wan.
Amazing video, very complex. Good work man, thanks.
The Jedi can only sense the stop button.
What if Luke didn't wake up in time to escape the Wampa on Hoth?
The classic bully response - "He maaaaaaade me do it!!!"
Thelondonbadger well by the time luke was on hoth the death star never blew up anymore planets anyways....
Reminds me of the KOTOR video where they say you were deceived and that whole story line. Excellent video as always.
what would happen is Luke could not get Vader to the light side and Sidious was not killed?
What if Anakin listened to Windu and assisted in the arrest of Sidious? Would he would have achieved his full potential?
Matt Weismiller Hell nah, to the no, no, no.
(I think it goes like that)
Matt Weismiller yes
Smart ass you are. Wise guy you may be.
Thank you so much for this video. I'd wanted to know this for such a long time.
Why did Disney removed The Star Wars Expanded Universe.
It seems like every franchise in the world has theories up the ass because the writers of the franchise can't follow their own continuity.
Haha right?
Hence the throwing out of old "expanded universe" as canon. They have a team on continuity now.
This wasn't a theory
Grand Moff fucking relax lmfao
Very, very good explanation. You did awesome work.
Do it for me my lady. The thought of losing you ... is unbearable.
What I can learn from this video? Never build a sanctuary over a place that was once used by evil forces. I never thought that the Jedi temple on Coruscant was built on top of a Sith stronghold.
Finally someone with a comprehensive analysis. Thanks for this :)
Jedi , both light and dark side can practice a technique to make their presence small in the force ! Palpatine was able to use this technique , as could Obi Wan , and many other Jedi and Sith have been excellent at using this technique ...
this is pretty basic and nothing special !
Everything in the Star Wars universe is Qui Gonn Jinn's fault
That doesn't make sense. The last time I checked Qui Gonn wasn't a Jew.
