Hey, I love your videos so much!! I currently have an offer to study music at Cam but need to get the grades first! What is the workload like for humanities? I’m assuming it’s fairly similar between the various hums subjects compared to stem? Also can I ask how much time roughly you have to do extra curriculars eg. Rowing? Thanks, and the video was great! X
Thank you :) and a huge congratulations!!! The workload is very changeable depending on how you time manage and what extra curricular do you do etc. each departments/subjects contact hours and recommended working hours are on their websites, but you can also check out my Cambridge: Our Uni videos for an idea of different subject workloads too! For English at Clare they recommend working. 9-6, 6 days a week, and this includes contact hours, so you have the evenings and a day off to relax and do clubs/societies. However, in practice this is hard to actually stick to due to set timings of seminars/classes/clubs and your own personal preferences on how you work and manage your time. It’s a skill to learn in your first term at Cambridge, especially with a humanities subject where so much of your work is self study. Would a video on this be useful? You can always dm me on instagram with any other questions!
In terms of hours on clubs this entirely relies on what societies you join - I would recommend asking at the freshers fair how much time each society takes up in a week, and being really honest with yourself how much you can pick up. That being said, extra curricular activities and doing things that you love and are fun are soooooo important and enriching and a really important part of uni - so I would really recommend making time for them.
I am an English teacher for over 18 years but I still want to go back to school for postgraduate education.Does Cambridge University has a such course for English education?😊
Hey nice to meet you fellow cambridge student ♥️ I am currently thinking of studying in cambridge and becoming a professor after i get out of school can you give any study tips ? ♥️
Hi Ana, Tarrannum this side! Really loved your video as I myself is a first year English Literature student here in India. This video was all inspiring and lovely I must say! Btw I wanted to ask you a question that I as a Lit. student have a dream of studying in either Oxford or Cambridge (who doesn't right!?) , So im thinking for applying into both for my masters in the future so as that has been said i need to be really into my undergrad degree and study hard(P.S if you got any tips for me as im a new uni plus Lit. student then plz do tell me sis❤) and try to get in either of it. But uk what besides studying i got a dream of entering into the film industry, as acting is my passion so im lil bit skeptical that should i do my masters in English or in Film studies! Ik for being an actor u need skills n not a specific degree but coming to UK will help me as a student and as a person whose passionate to have a name in the entertainment industry....if u r getting my point then plz do tell me that coming to UK will be a wise decision or not for me ?
