Here's Edison Pereyra performing the second movement "Andante" from the "Sonatina" by Federico Moreno Torroba on a 1999 Greg Smallman classical guitar made withe cedar top and CSA rosewood for the back and sides. Recorded at the Guitar Salon International showroom in Santa Monica, CA.

Really amazing. He feels the music, and does not just play the notes. Torroba is not so often played so … a breath of fresh air!
(I hope he is not getting any mean comments such as “he’s trying to look like a white guy”.) Because this is what I heard my black brother from another mother say when a coloured Brazilian dude played Guimaraes on classical guitar.

That Smallman guitars sound nasally, banjo-like, has never been more in evidence than here. There's also the dubious durability of the lattice-braced design.
The Guitar indeed has a beautiful sound, as well as the player producing a like tone. However, his interpretation I do not think brings out much of the beauty of the composition. It reminds me of a Segovia master class where a performer was playing seemingly speeding up, then slowing down. Segovia quipped “ you are like a small dog rushing up a hill. You slow down and pant, and then resume your speed.
Also, the guitarist seems to emphasize several notes that should not be emphasized. A lesson in phrasing would seem to be in order here. Listen to Segovia playing the same piece and you will hear him portray the music much truer to the poetic nature of the composer.
This Smallman guitar sounds horrible ,it lacks charm and is just harsh and LOUD .
