I finally found the impossible to find in an English sub episode 18
12 years. This is 12 years long. Just to think these creators were somewhere around 18-22 at the start. Most Touhou creators stop as they reach the later part of their 20s. Its likely the later episodes are suffering from the creator being detached and did something to recapture what brought them in as a treat.
The animation is great to look at. I wish the episodes were longer and the pacing is a tad bit rushed and sloppy at points. But, it does look like the friggin games. The animators put their freaking all into this anime and it is fanmade.
Its been going on for 12 years. The creators are more then likely at minimum in their late 20s though more likely early 30s. As someone nearing 30 I understand the reasons why the series seems to have fluttered out and the ending they did. It feels very much like "This is what first got me into the fandom".

Touhou fans love acting like their community isn't a niche outside of the East lol.
A group of (WAYYY more dedicated and productive than them) fans put their their fucking soul into a full blown anime of their series, and they act like they're entitled to a best selling Ufotable anime, and from the same fan studio no less.
@@myb701It's not the budget, is the writing and even though i do LOVE the series the last two arcs had some weird priorities and they really, REALLY shouldn't have promised things that they couldn't deliver, like the moriya crew being a menace or Tenshi.
Still the fact that something this GODLY looking was made by fans will always be impressive and admirable, and the Scarlet Devil arc is near perfect.
Kinda sucks the Touhou anime didn’t do the one with the nuclear arc
But its understandable as the the creators have been working for 12 years. They are probably in their early 30s by now.

Agreed the animation is freaking amazing, hell it's actually better than a lot of big studio anime, specially the ones from Toe
12 years. It took 12 years to do 18 episodes and by the looks of things the later half is a dip in writing which seems to fit with Touhou creator life cycle. A lot of the big names in Touhou ceased around the time they started turning into their mid to late twenties. The creators are more then likely in their early 30s by the end.

Episode 18 is basically just a misunderstanding episode, bla bla bla, and the ending is WAY worse, like...

These creators been working on this for about 12 years. From the golden age of the Fandom and likely when they are at minimum their late teens to early 20s.
At this point they can't possibly do a proper sendoff as they like so many others at that time are rather disconnected with the franchise they are passionate about. This feels like something for the new fans who are around the age of when they started.
