Quién murió fue John Harman, hermano de Archer Harman, el ingeniero jefe de la obra y su ayudante George Davis no pudieron vencer las enfermedades. Los relatos dicen entre los jamaiquinos e indígenas, fueron como 3000 quienes fallecieron.
