I worked for Franklin Computers when it first opened for business in Pennsauken, NJ back in the early 80's. Still have my employee card as well as photo of my Ace 1200 computer system.
We are glad the computer itself is in pretty good condition
This was my first computer. I got a new monitor as well, but I dont remember the brand.
2 MS DOS disks. I ended up getting a mouse that needed an adapter. I think the mouse was about $125.
I actually typed a complete D&D Dungeon Masters Guide that my friend and I had written.
I would get these weird shareware games from the back of magazines for $6. Never knew what would come.
I was pretty poor growing up and this was a gift from my aunt who had a bunch of money.
This was the first computer we had at home. A few years ago my father gave me the computer and the matching monitor, both in their boxes. Unfortunately he didn’t keep any of the software.
i played a mind forever voyaging, odell lake and odell woods plus some early form of math blaster on this bad boy....boy those disk readers were so loud.
Had one back in the day
My friend's family had one of these. They got it the same year I got my Commodore 64. I was kind of underwhelmed by their computer in 1987. Its pretty at least. A shame it goes for a ton now. Cuz I like the look.
If there's one thing Franklin was better than the rest at it was aesthetics!
@@NewsmakersTech it was a looker yeah. Iirc it had MS Dos 3.3 as its OS. My friends had few games for it. Skate or Die, Jordan vs Bird, and some of those Keypunch collections. (Which as I understand might not have been entirely authorized.)
I found one on Craigslist for $40 I want to get it should I?
@@fanman8677 for 40? Hell yeah if you have the scratch.
"This is rare; let's throw it around!"
Bought one at Sears sometime in the late 80's. it cost me about $800, and it was great for creating stick figure porn in BASIC :)
Have you ever seen one of these rather rare computers?
I got one
What, you're not even going to power it on?
