Yes, you did provide a positive buying influence.....will be ordering the Diamondback SE in a few days......thanks again for a short, but very sweet (and informative) video on this bad boy.
Fun to see a long-term review on this. Thanks! Have you ever flipped the back panel forward and driven like this? It is supposed to be OK if strapped down.
Yes I actually have, it’s heavy enough to not strap down. I did not go much over 45mph though… so higher speeds and winds beware and take precaution. Thanks for the comment!
Love the cover. Is there a way to eliminate that small leak on either side of that center piece where the weather stripping pieces connect? I wonder if Diamondback could design that peice or that weatherstripping there such that a full length piece of stripping along the whole side can be used and not three pieces? Thoughts? Oh, and could the rear of the cab rooftop take the weight of one or two men sitting on it, the way that one man is sitting on the cooler at the end? Given that people can stand and sit on top of that cover, I could see some wanting to sit on the back edge of the cab.
I’m going to try to get a new seal and see if it’s a tighter fit. Maybe could put some RTV (sealant) in that area. In reference to the cab I would say you could sit 1 or 2 people on it yes I have leaned on it once or twice myself. And I’ve had 4-5 guys on the bed cover before with no issue!
Great video! Thank you for your review. I'm stuck between the revolver X4s since you have easy access to the full bed or the cover you have. Have you ever felt limited in access due to the center mount?
Definitely gets in the way with bigger loads. But for the most part it has not been an issue. So if you plan to have larger items back there it's not ideal sometimes. I usually just take off the entire cover and put it on after with whatever i'm doing. Thanks for throwing comment!
Not sure if you’ve made your purchase yet but I bought the revolver cover and not only is the install quite surprisingly easy to mess up, the thing felt like it was going to break every time I opened or closed it. I sent it back for a refund as soon as I got it installed. This will definitely be superior to the revolver if those are the 2 you’re stuck between.
I have not, my 2024 tacoma is at the dealership after 3 weeks. Cracked evaporator box, seems to be a common issue. I may not get it back for a while so plenty of time to think about covers. I appreciate your input about the revolver. I'm in south florda so I'm also worried about the peeling that seems to be common with the revolver. It would be nice to access the bed with a rack on though.
Hey there! I notice you have your yeti strapped to the top. Can it not fit under the cover? What’s the clearance under the cover? I want to buy one but I need to be able to keep all my gear inside of it 😅
Hey, A Yeti tundra 65 will clear no problem, they are about 16” tall so it has some space. It was strapped mainly for show of what the cover can do if your bed is full and need to strap some things down. If I remember correctly it’s 19” to the top of the Tacoma bed side which is where the cover sits flush to. You would be safe with anything around 18.5” Hope that helps. Thanks for the comment!
Curious if you heard back about the replacement weather stripping/seals from Diamondback? Looking at this option as well and greatly appreciate the video 🫡
I have the same truck and just ordered this cover but i have to say I’m not happy about the amount of water that was pouring in. How wet is the inside after a major rainstorm?
Its tough to determine exactly, but there is definitely a small amount of leakage if it rains hard enough and at the right angle. Overall through 2 winters and a lot of rain i have never noticed anything worth worrying about. The water hose definitely exaggerates the water leak. Im sure it can be fixed and maybe the newer diamondbacks seal quality control is better. Keep in mind the seal gets worn after years of opening/closing and weather. But i believe they will send out a new one no questions asked. I hope you enjoy and get a lot of use out of yours! Thanks for the comment!
this truck bed cover is definitely worth the investment!
I have one on 2021 Tacoma too. I can’t say if it’s the best, but I can say it’s the best for me. These are excellent bed covers.

I did! They sent some out no questions asked, I’ll be replacing them in the spring after one more winter season.
Does the paint finish fade when it is exposed to sun?
No sir been almost 3 years and still looks great!
