I mean other pros agreed best team ever is a toss up between Astralis and fnatic. It’s not ridiculous to think that winning 30 tournaments straight is superior than Astralis winning 2 majors and ~10 tournaments last year
i dont think the competitive aspect is too relevant since SK era had a bunch of competition too but rather the revolutionary way Astralis played and approached the game as well as just how hard they rolled opponents.
todays scene is the most competitive CS has ever seen.... any top20 team right now would wipe the floor with LG/SK of 2016, the competition back then was the weakest in the history of eSports

Yes, they are. Why? Because teams keep improving, players keep improving, they keep finding ways of doing things better. No matter how dominant a team was at one point in the past, if someone managed to end their dominant era, they take the crown from them. No team from the past could beat today's Astralis.
imo its not about who can beat the past ones or not, its about what they achieved and how dominant they were. Astralis dominated so hard and won everything. there is imo no qeustion that astralis is the best, not only cs:go team, they are the best cs team of all time.

@@Providenza I've played and watched CS since 2001. Argument could be made for 2015 fnatic, and that's just maybe. Definitely not for 2015 Envy, that's just ridiculous. Much of fnatic's victories were close games that they won by massive comebacks that came out of nowhere. While they did have dominant victories, they weren't nearly as common as with Astralis. Let's also not forget that the core of TSM (current Astralis) was the only team that was consistently beating fnatic back then.

People saying CS now is more developed than 2015 really going to argue that 2015 Envy, NiP, Fnatic, Navi, even TSM and VP from those days, wouldn't destroy most of the team's in the top 5 currently? The best teams were better in 2015 than the current best teams, it's just that there's more competitive T2 teams these days than just Flipside, Mous and Hellraisers.

What makes Astralis better than fnatic in their era? Both have won 3 majors and I believe fnatic had a longer lasting era of dominance than Astralis have atm
The whole scene is more competitive now, so maintaining dominance in the current era is definitely a huge plus point for Astralis.

@@VinDel777 Well, it was harder to get into the competitve scene back in the day, so there was less competition among the actually good teams.
Fast forward to current era, there are tons of good teams with decently raw skilled players and superstars to choose from. This also means that to perform in the competitive scene, teams must emphasize on actual strategies rather than relying on their players to get sick frags. All these points just go on to show that Astralis dominating in this era is more impressive than fnatic dominating in theirs.

Saying that fnatic was better i 2014 is pretty irrelevant. They may have been more doiminant at the time, but the overall competition was much lower as well. The level of gamerplay has done nothing but increase each year. If you were to put 2014 fnatic in todays pro scene, they wouldn't even come close to the same results as back then. Being the best team ever and the most dominant team ever is two very diffrent questions. Nothing in terms of dominance can really compare to the NIPs 87 win streak either.
