Last year of his contract so he was gonna leave for free next year, plus Juve are in terrible financial shape, rather get his wages off the books than he sit around just taking his dough. Great player and great business for LFC.

The injury concerns are blown out of proportion. He had more minutes than Trent last season. He just had that long spell out due to his cruciate injury. He was alright last season, and his underlying numbers were very good as well.
Sterling is on 325k a week. That's 16.9 million a year for doing naff all, he still has 3 years left on his contract which totals 50.7 million. My choice would be to litrally screw them over and sit there getting paid for nothing.

@@matthewbaker2573 I doubt very much he will get back into the England squad. Yes, he has some pride and maybe he is willing to take a massive pay cut to play for another premier league team. If however, he wishes to keep his 325k a week. He won't be playing for his pride or anyone other EPL club, maybe his only option is some club in Saudi. As for not knowing anything about sport. I will leave that for others to judge princess.

Chiesa played 40+ games last season & was apparently offerred a new contract by Juve on the same terms of £150,000 a week but he declined it. He supposedly wanted at least £180,000 but Juve wouldn't increase their offer so he ran his contract down & they sold him. He's allegedly on £115,000 a week at Liverpool before goal, assist & win bonuses now.
He was never offered a contract. Too soft and self centered to play for Motta.

@@ragerider6283 That's Juve PR, same thing as the guy telling you that Motta didn't want him, that is probably not true as well, Juve wanted him gone 2 seasons ago, and now they didn't want to renew his contract for more money (even if he didn't ask for more money yet) and they didn't want to lose him for free, simple as that.
Oh, and by the way, i am saying that this is Juve PR is because they did the same thing with him last summer, they were claiming he wanted a new contract or to be sold for insane numbers for him and his managers or he would have gone for free, but that was not true at all since he didn't move, didn't get a new contract, and played all season for Juve.

Plus Slots player management. It won't be a shower heavy load on any particular player. Unless we get heavy injuries. But I think that's preventative with Slot and staff

I am happy with how the club is looking towards the future like getting in an Allison replacement given his age . That Georgian keeper looks good and at a right age . Felt sorry for Kelleher though.
When you play football a little more patient like he does to it probably cuts back on injuries also imo.

My Liverpool supporting mate saw that Newcastle were linked with him and his comments were along the lines of ‘that’s the level you’re at, buying crocked has beens who nobody else wants’. But now, yes you’ve guessed it, Chiesa is a fantastic signing !

there isn't many italians that have done well in england. zola vialli di canio and di matteo are still deemed some of the best to grace the english game, and there hasn't been much more since that have been anywhere close to as good as they were

The crazy thing is that all of the players you mentioned that did good in the Prem...were kinda Serie A rejects that weren't good enought to play for the big teams in Italy.

I remember setting an alarm to watch "goalasio" ( I know I've spelt it wrong lol) and if I missed motd on Saturday night, I'd miss the end of it on Sunday morning changing to channel 4
@@matthewbaker2573 Exactly, now of course it is a different story, but some of that mentality is still in the mind of italian players (even if it doesn't make any sense) they prefer the comfort of the italian league instead of going out in search of fortune (i think it is the same now for english players as well, but like Serie A in the past it works out for them for now since the Prem is so dominant) because they know that even if it goes wrong clubs in Italy are going to come for them for big enough wages, the only ones that try are the ones that cannot break into the big clubs in Italy like for example Scamacca, Zaniolo, Udogie, Vicario ect etc and now, strangely enough Chiesa, who was more wanted from La Liga and the Prem than from Serie A clubs, which works fine for him, since he is already an international level player (has experience in the UCL and national team) has played with some of the best players in the world (CR7, Buffon, Chiellini etc etc) and he is very good with the english language (something not a lot of italian players feel the need to know).

RE: Chiesa. Does anyone do research? “He hasn’t played enough games to warrant a new contract”. He was offered a new contract recently but rejected it as it wasn’t on terms he agreed with. He entered the last 12 months and they’ve decided to sell him and save on his wages. He played more games last season than all but 5 Liverpool players. He scored 9 last season. His best ever season he scored 10. He reached 35kph in the Euros, only player at LFC to reach a higher max speed was Szoboszlai at 36.6kph.

He scored 15 goals in 2021 (11 assist), 11 in 2019 (9 assist) and 12 in 2018 (6 assist).
But yeah Juve are a mess but this was just a money decision not much more (apparently he didn't even reject Juve's offer, they just didn't make him an offer at all) so Juve was not robbed, it is a win win for everyone to be honest, the only loss is for us Serie A watchers, that's really it, everyone else is happy and will be happy with this deal most likely, wheter it be Liverpool, Juve or Chiesa.
