Given Reimus track record, I don't think they lost much by losing that job. There a reason she hired them on the spot with no interview & I bet its because she can't keep help around. I can't confirm for sure, but part of the hate is supposedly because Kaguya sent her many suitor's off to find five legendary items, bring one and she would marry them. Issue was that among them was Mokou's father, and that Kaguya already had the five items, so it was impossible for anyone to obtain them and many died trying to find just one of them.
