I am a 76 year old Grammy who's been following Augie since his food delivery & bmx days. I love this kid. Watching him mature and find his way in the world is so interesting. He definitely has charisma and an anointing on his life Is so interesting. It's clear that his steps are ordered by God. I love his sense of wonder and his transparency💙💙
This is easily the best individual you've had on. He could be so obnoxious, but instead he comes off as genuine and seemingly very curious about the world around him.
I like this dude. Love how he just came up to the dude live-streaming. Didn’t hesitate or anything. Just straight into it and even connected with the dude. Love that
Augie is a warrior. I don't personally know the dude but the fact that he somehow always finds a way to pop on my radar at the most random of times throughout the years is an indication of this guys perseverance and fighting spirit. Just from the blurbs or digital clippings I stumble upon of his journey and story, it's apparent he's found a way to grow through his dips and party through his highs. And to that, I can relate. Keep on trucking, Augie. We're rooting for you.
It's not often a photo just makes me smile, but those parrot photos have so much soul! Most people would have zoomed out but he went in and got close. Amazing! Glad to now know about Austin!
Paulie B puttin' in work, creating a phenomenal catalogue of mini biopics of some real people with vast talents. This channel will age well and provide much inspiration and techniques for the people for years to come. Regards from Canada Paulie 🇨🇦
Wtf. I used to follow this guy back when he did the bmx post mates vlogging. This dude inspired the hell out of me back then I was a senior in high school. It was partially bc of him that when I first moved to Seattle, my first job was postmates on an old road bike lol. A 1971 schwinn varsity for whoever is curious
Paulie what you do is so cool, all the artists you talk to are so beautiful, they're out there, they're truly alive. It's amazing, never stop what you're doing! Much love!
Wow, I’m so glad I have opportunity to learn of such a great person. The way he sees the world, his art, optimistic eye - it touches me. Thank you Pauli and thank you Austin for this episode!
Great video, Augie makes some really thought provoking observations, love his outlook and dedication to the craft. Really showed what a great guy he is when he mentioned he was going back to Africa to give his books to the families he featured in them! Love this series Paulie 👍🇦🇺🇬🇧🙏Max.
he’s so cool about the process. when the frame comes somehow he feels and captures. it felt like the naivest thing about his photography is to goin with the flow. he talks in almost %70 of the video and it touched my soul. thanks!
This might be my new favorite Walkie Talkie episode. Great, soulful insights from Austin. Love knowing that we share the same quest to avoid traditional employment at all costs so we can make content that helps us to have the freedom to be artists who are able to pay their bills.
the best and only !! such a big fan of austin work, one of the most sensitive artists in youtube in my opinion, his channel and his videos are just work of art and so poetic!
I literally checked 2 days ago If you had an episode with augie after discovering this channel, this is sick. Always liked augie and I love the direction he took his channel in.
I find your walkie talkie videos really interesting, seeing the photographers viewpoint and craft. Keep up the great content. Austin is a really interesting guy.
I thought this was a great interview. I love Austin's photography philosophy because it's just like my own, just make work and don't box yourself in with a specific title like street photographer, he's a photographer, a documentary style which is like mine. I capture the life around me through my camera and my goal is to focus on capturing the beauty of what the world has in it. Things we take for granted each day. I like that Austin just does his work for himself and pushes himself to learn new things etc. His quote of 'I'm a story teller' really resonated with me. That's what I do to. Thanks for the interview, Paulie B and introducing me to another artist!
Damn man, I’ve heard of this guy before through Willem Verbeeck. Didn’t know he was such an awesome guy tho! I don’t see how anyone could get mad at this guy on the street, his charisma and humanism oozes through the screen, I can only imagine the good energy he gives off in real life. Another great video, Paulie 👍
Augie mentioned having adhd and god damn it’s so accurate. I’m just like him, feel like a crackheads sometimes composing images in my head while walking around with my girlfriend. Blessing and a curse
Interesting guy and great photos and I admire his confidence. I’ve also enjoyed watching this video. Only gripe I have is his recounting of his experience in “Africa”, which is not just exclusive to him but a wider issue, and the narrative of “these people have nothing but are so happy” is also played out. “Africa” is a massive continent with many countries, languages and different cultures. To make my point, notice how France wasnt referred to as “Europe” but Ivory Coast becomes “Africa”. Just something I think people should be cognisant of.
@@STUDIOAUGIE I appreciate you taking it onboard and not taking it personally. Hopefully the work you make out there continues to grow and evolve and somehow makes a positive impact on the people you cross paths with.
On that out of the west scene of the video you can tell this guy has a heart of gold the way he was picking up those kids for hugs. I love seeing moments like that 🥲
The moment Augie coughed specially to cause a reaction from a stranger and take a picture... is gold. Greetings from Russia, Augie. I've been watching you for a long time, you're great! Keep it Up!
Not to categorize ourselves is a great photography lesson for expanding our self imposed niche :) I’m glad to watch this after years of watching Augie rip Bmx w homies.
hello Paulie B,i have been watching your videos for almost a year now, being a photographer, I teel you, your videos are therapeutics for me. Thank you...
Yes! Been waiting for this video for a long time. Austin is spot on when it comes to how shooting photos is like landing trick on a bike. It’s the same exact thing. The same feeling. The same accomplishment. It’s fckn dope. Great video Paul!
Man seeing Augie here after watching his BMX deliveries back in the day is so crazy he put on for NYC BMX more than anyone else actually from here in the past like 5+ years I’m glad he’s out thriving still
Paulie…your Walkie Talkies keep getting better and better. Great interview with a great photographer. Love Austin’s energy and work! Austin, you just gained a new follower! Keep it up you two!
when he took the pic of the man in front of the empire state building and he said the man "smiled weird," that was his best picture, precisely because of the unique smile on the man's face
I've been following Augie since his bmx delivery days. So happy for him to be thriving in photography and I can't wait for his book!

A man ready to lay on the ground wearing white pants transcended barriers that we, mere photography enthusiasts, are not ready to commit yet.

Inspiring young man keep going you will go far.❤
Great example of how to interact with the public in a non-confrontational way, was like watching a dance, great work!
I've always found this show very funny. This episode feels really interesting and natural. Thank you.
