Yo-yo You're right! I watched it at normal speed the first time and felt decidedly sleepy. I actually wonder if the video wasn't slowed down before upload to help out people who were a bit slow-witted.
Very informative. With the depiction of a bolt with its crucial measurements, I found it to be most useful. And please do not worry about those knockers who care more about sheen than substance. Thank you very much.
1:19 So basically, literally replace both x's with the word "by". For example, M3 x 1.25 x 30 is pronounced "M3 by 1.25 by 30". Thanks for this short yet informative video!
I have a very tiny electric motor with a gear box that reduces it to 18 rpm. There are two threaded screw holes in the top plate of the gear box. Some research lead me to a diagram showing “2-M1.5” next to the hole. Can you help me figure this out? I only need a few, two exactly but a couple more to replace the one I will no doubt drop. 🤨 Thanks!
For US measurements: Thread Pitch will instead give the number of complete threads per inch of length down a screw. Ex: 10-16 references a #10 screw size (use a chart to know what exact measurement the #10 references), and a thread pitch of 16. Aka, 16 complete threads per inch along the length of the screw.
Very nice watched many thread and fastener lesson videos generally cover imperial but we are a US machine shop we machine utilizing metric as watch movement or time measurement micro-machinists, so thank you for this share. Lance & Patrick.
Thanks. You are a laptop technician life saver ! Accidentally all screws of an laptop dropped to floor and I could not remember which go where for many of them ! I measured them and with a service manual (hard to find it for that laptop) diagrams I found which go where ! :-)
Let me correct some major mistakes: 1. There is no *M3x1,25* screw. M3 has a standard pitch of 0,5mm. 2. If I'd call myself "Mr. Metric" I would know, that we use the "comma" as decimal divider. The point is for the thousands. 3. The declaration of metric screws is [Diameter x Thread-Length] for standard screws. Only when it is a FINE-Thread screw (which is quite rare) the pitch is inserted before the lenth. E.g. M3x0,25x30.
" I would know, that we use the "comma" as decimal divider. The point is for the thousands." This is not necessarily true. Some countries use these in the opposite places.
You seem to know a lot. How do i calculate the minor diameter for this specific thread? M5 X 0.8 I would like to have the solution today, it is important! (Its in ANSI)
Thanks for the video. I need screws for my Asus laptop, which are described as M2x2.5=0.5(3.3,0.3)(K)+H. I guess this means the screw diameter is 2 mm and the length is 3mm, but I'm confused about the rest. Does M2x2.5 mean the diameter is anything between 2 and 2.5 mm ? Is 0.5 the pitch ? Is (3.3,0.3) the length ? what about K and H? I'd be grateful for any help !
It means 2 mm diameter, standard pitch (0.4 mm no need to indicate), 2.5 mm length. We usually don't bother with stating pitch for standard fasteners. Just imagine what a thread wit 2 mm dia. and 2.5 mm pitch would look like. Not that is couldn't be done, but that's an extreme driving screw, no fastener. Same for the example given in the video. 1.25 mm is the standard pitch for an M8 fastener. You will never find this on an M3. Standard pitch for M3 is 0.5 mm.
Rik B Why are you looking for charm in a video about bolts? Why do you care? Why the need to share the thoughts of your sick mind? You should just shut up and go pound sand.
These are different measurements stndards from different world locations. NPT - American Taper Pipe Thread BSP - British Standard Pipe Parallel G thread is another term for the British standard BSP. Here is good article to reference: www.teesing.com/files/en/brochures/Type-of-thread.pdf
Because the common pitch is 1.5mm and 1.25mm is fine pitch which is more rare. There are M10-1.25x70 socket head screws but can't seem to find any flat head for that size. Not sure what your application is but making a counter bore might an option.
You have to laugh at commenters that are disappointed in the excitement the narrator generates about thread counts and screw sizes. More explosions and car crashes when picking out the correct bolt for your Japanese motorcycle!
The bolt shown can't be M3x1.25x30. If the 3mm is correct the pitch is 1.5mm . I copied the picture into paint and copied the 3mm end measurement and laid it over the thread measurement... i.imgur.com/jl3pbFV.png
What a strange size you chose as an example - standard pitch for an M3 is 0.5mm, and I don't think M3 x 1.25 even exists, it certainly doesn't match your illustration. 1.25 is standard pitch for M8.
This is the most intense voice over work ever.
It is sort of like if you could imagine Bill Barr describing his penis in a deposition.
This is what you get when you use FIVERR.
1.25x speed works wonders
Yo-yo

yep, no going back after x.1.25
you are a freaking genius
1.5 even better no jokes
Lol. So true
Very informative. With the depiction of a bolt with its crucial measurements, I found it to be most useful. And please do not worry about those knockers who care more about sheen than substance. Thank you very much.
This is how I sound when my parents ask me to do something.

Whats the meaning of M10×1.5×15/18 ?
Most unenthusiastic voice over ever. Good video though
Loving the ‘dead inside’ voice. Like 👍🏿
Very informative. I used to wonder what those M4, M8 etc. stood for... Thank you very much...

Gotta love the deadpan voice-over 👍
ok so for a m14x1.25 what tap should i use to tap the hole for that bolt since taps dont use those same readouts any help would be appreciated
Oh if bolts and nuts really did have their specs stamped on them... that would be heaven.
Hey Mr. Metric can you help me in how to controll the Guaging thickness

How to determine the load carrying capacity of a bolt or screw.?
Hello good day thank you for sharing about this knowledge take good care God bless
Yes! Finally some good explanation
Thanks a lot, I was wondering whether it was the length of the thread or the whole bolt
For most types of head, it is the length under the head, but for counter-sunk heads, it's the overall length.
Very nice watched many thread and fastener lesson videos generally cover imperial but we are a US machine shop we machine utilizing metric as watch movement or time measurement micro-machinists, so thank you for this share. Lance & Patrick.
Yo this was super helpful. Thanks for the vid!
Please tell me what is the difference between bolt and screw.?
excellent vid. muchas gracias.

AWESOME, VERY HELPFUL!
Who's the troll that disliked this video!? It's a down right DELIGHTFUL video! Thanks.
ive just disliked due to obvious mistake
I disliked it because the narrator has issues
Just because someone does a "dislike" is not any indication that they are (or are not) a troll. Get over yourself.
Is this possible 3×1.2×30.for dia 3mm is .5 pitch ,4mm is .7 pitch any how thanks mam 👏👏👏
This helps a lot. Also that 2014 Scion xB though. 😍
How can I identify the pitch on a micro screw?
This video is super clear and succinct.
website is DED. rip. i need some M4x1.5x16 screws. can't seem to find any. not even on ebay
Hi I'm looking for some whitworth screws.
very very good info and only one i could find on yt to identify the washer i need.
In this case what is size of minor diameter how to calculate it
Helped me right out thank you

This is not necessarily true. Some countries use these in the opposite places.
Some countries use 1,234.56, others use 1.234,56
Mr. Metric used that for example only not to divert his explanation in wrong side
It is for example.....
You seem to know a lot. How do i calculate the minor diameter for this specific thread? M5 X 0.8
I would like to have the solution today, it is important! (Its in ANSI)
Sometimes is see a screw sizes with a "g" in it. For example 10g x 16mm. What does the "g" stand for
The "class of fit” for all metric fasteners is “6g”. So for the question 10mm diameter with standard class of fit.
TCL 55 INCH TV, MODEL 55S451 USES WHAT CALLOUT. There seems to be no source for this information.

You chat with our fastener experts at 1-866-501-9504 and they can assist you.
M2x2.5 Means the diameter is 2mm and the pitch is 2.5 mm. I don't know about the rest designations.
It means 2 mm diameter, standard pitch (0.4 mm no need to indicate), 2.5 mm length.

Thanks for the video, it was helpful but please lower your microphone gain.. and I'm glad I lowed my volume before that whistle near the end.
Very helpful Thank you
Thanks, that really helped!
So what is #6-32 lock nut what M is that?
Such a cute video . ❤️
Good Example.
How can we decide Metric bolt size from Hole size?
thank you
What is the size of 1/4" screws?? Is it M3, M4 or M5??
They’re a quarter inch dude, M is for metric
This was helpful. Thank you.
Nice 👍
great video thanks
so conflicted about this video, information is great and really useful, but the voice. A robot would of had more charm.
Rik B
Why are you looking for charm in a video about bolts? Why do you care? Why the need to share the thoughts of your sick mind? You should just shut up and go pound sand.
@@ThekiBoran The depressed voice is rather distracting.
learning this tonight
thanks you saved my life
Last call out is thread length or ordinary length??
Thanks in advance
Hi
thanks
Teşekkür ederim ☺️
Great video, simple and clear
Thanks
1) The number 6-32 means what to a screw or a bolt?
6 would be diameter of the bolt
32 would be thread pattern.
Thank you! Great vid! Super helpful :)
Skip watching video and just screenshot 1:34
the wikihow article on this is garbage, this really helps
What is difference in G thread, NPT thread, and BSP thread, ISO thread?
These are different measurements stndards from different world locations.
NPT - American Taper Pipe Thread
BSP - British Standard Pipe Parallel
G thread is another term for the British standard BSP.
Here is good article to reference: www.teesing.com/files/en/brochures/Type-of-thread.pdf
In my country there are only 2 type known thread:fine and rough thread.
With proper lubricant, no hole is too big or small for mr metric
Why I cant find M10 - 1.25 x 70mm flat head bolt anywhere..!!!!
Because the common pitch is 1.5mm and 1.25mm is fine pitch which is more rare. There are M10-1.25x70 socket head screws but can't seem to find any flat head for that size. Not sure what your application is but making a counter bore might an option.

Very helpful thanks! BIG👍
I watched this twice but for some reason couldn't concentrate on the voice. I'm gonna try again
Use full video ☺☺
M3 size 1.25 there 30mm length
Can u tell me the picture of
bolt 2" x1/2"
The chick's voice is like listening to nails scraping a chalk board
No, it is more like chalk on a wet piece of cardboard. Like if Mitch McConnell was a woman.
Wow, I've found you! Now I know what's the meaning of numbers in 'Taps and Dies. Te quiero!
Excellent ! Thank you !
The More You Know..... -thx
cant open ur web page????
Really helpful.. Tankxxx
She reminds me of the boring teacher in Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
Bueller, Bueller, anyone?
Thanks!!
please mention Allen keybolt and Allen key

Very nice informative video! Gotta say though, she sounds very depressed when she reads.
does anyone on here know the advantages of using an Acme thread? please help
I wouldn't use it. It never helped Wile E. Coyote catch the Road Runner.
wow... 3 second and i was scrambling for the stop button....
M16*3*40/60.. what does this mean??
Good question. For M16-3.0 x 60mm or M16-3.0 x 40mm, it would mean: M16 = Diameter
3.0 = Thread Size
60mm or 40mm = Length
=) thank you ..
well, well, to bad they seem to have closed.....just now that I need it them
Wow, way to sibilant, you need to use a pop shield or control your S’s
1:35 is the only thing I need.
3 mm diameter of bolt ,I am amazed 😁😁
The smallest bolt I've seen was M0,6
But common Bolt sizes are M16, M14, M12 M10, M8, M6, M5, M4, M3.
The bolt shown can't be M3x1.25x30. If the 3mm is correct the pitch is 1.5mm . I copied the picture into paint and copied the 3mm end measurement and laid it over the thread measurement... i.imgur.com/jl3pbFV.png
nice
Good jo nhi janta hai usko koi hindi me nhi bata rha hai ki bolt kaise mapte hai
I stay with "unidentified holes"...
video made after marijuana
good video but "one point twenty five" hurts

I thought it was a digitised voice to start with!
The narrator seems to be the female equivalent of the economics teacher in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
