Echoing most of the other comments opinions, Black Pyramid is not worth the deaths and time anymore. Maybe if the overall difficulty of the POI was reduced to match the loot. Like you said, not much different than some Abandoned POI's. I did it during my recent playthrough. Still a good show to watch! Cheers

This is one of the reasons why I find it harder to go back into Reforged Eden; Revien and Vermillion seem to have almost MMORPG-levels of grinding ideas, and when they find people running certain POIs because of how rewarding they are, they nerf their rewards, usually. So it basically becomes a 'run it once to say you did it then ignore forever because it's just not worth it'. It's such that I've seen people say they keep quiet about even moderately cheesy things they've discovered simply because of the fear Vermillion will nerf it into the ground. He's almost punitive with some of the nerfs and tweaks he does. I get that it's supposed to be a cooperative/server-oriented scenario, and I get that Revion and Vermillion are making the mod they want and are sharing it with others... but, though I will give credit to the game for being able to handle a surprising amount of players given its jank, Empyrion is most stable as a solo experience. And RE is just not quick to get into solo with the level of grind presented. Getting stronger ships takes forever, or you've got to exploit gameplay elements neither have been able to patch out because it's so intrinsic to the game itself, like spinny combat ships. Add to that the cost of losing something; all that time, effort, all the resources gathered and used, and so much of the end-game stuff is basically irreparable and arduous to replace, you're loathe to risk it, otherwise, there goes all those hours collecting special turrets or cores, and even if you don't lose them, you have to make sure you use a BP without those items for repair pads to work, IIRC. Most players don't want to risk something they spent hours upon hours collecting knowing if they lose it, all that effort is wasted and one will have to do it all over again, just to recover, and that's just not how the average player works; the reward for all that work is to have those items, not immediately lose them and have to do it all over again because you misjudged something. It's not fun. It's just daunting at times; there's so much actual content you _can_ enjoy, but to enjoy a large chunk of it, you need to spend ages grinding and grinding just to inch up to the next level. And at times, it's not clear what feedback gets listened to; what regular players say a lot, or having to hope someone like Spanj critiques something. Yeah, wall of text, but I have thoughts about the balancing in RE. Such a great mod/scenario, but it's plagued with things that just take the wind out of its sails.

Yup, I feel the same way. I probably won't be playing Reforged Eden anymore for much the same reasons you listed. Way too much grind, challenges that are way too unbalanced for the rewards offered and punitive bulldrek.

it was enough to put the admin core back or just move the core like he did... no need to reduce all the loots... now, it's not worth all the resources needed to do it... (or only when you are at the start or the game to get lots of ressources to build something ...)
Quite the bummer that this was nerfed. Looks like you didn't have the invisible death creatures like I had. Those Kriel creatures in the engineering section sounded like the thing that was killing me, so I think that was the creature, but the model never spawned in.
i think the Black Pyramid is definitely not worth the expenditure of time and ammo. its great that they changed it up so you can't really cheese it as easily, but to additionally remove 75% of the loot that made it worth going into is a step to far for balancing it.
Damn. That was hard enough to clear even when cheesing. The fight to kill the top floor enemies is usually pretty wicked. I like Ravien a lot. But this wasnt a good call.
knowing that the other core is accessed by destroying a block through the window you take to get to the old core you could use your ship weapons to destroy the block that leads down to level 8 bypassing the rest of the pyramid. It shouldn't take too much of CV weapons to crack Armored Concrete. as for the Tunnels of Doom after the cores are gone your multi-tool or a micro SV with a tool turret, should make short work of all those pesky walls.
They should have left the rewards as they were and removed the core to eliminate the cheese if the intent was to balance it. With cutting the rewards as well, this POI isn't worth the risk/reward.
Yeah, the loot looks lame now, TY for your service! I guess I won't bother with the new one. Imagine if you came in here with multiple people and that's ALL that dropped..
Joining the others to say that while I love watching your videos no matter what POIs you do, this episode totally turned me off from going anywhere near a black pyramid from now on. The risk-reward balance is totally off. Still, immensely enjoyed your solo run. Will live vicariously through you in the future.
ive been finding a lot of large upgrade kits in loot it's the SMALL ones that i can never seem to get my hands on even the vendors only ever seem to sell the large ones
Most of the land POIs have been systematically nerfed and had their loot removed/revised, taking the fun and joy out of doing them. While I do appreciate the hard work Ravien and Vermillion have done to make RE both challenging and fun, I feel they’ve leaned too much on the challenge side of things, making me wonder if RE2 is their version of ultra nightmare mode of Doom.
Ah, Reforged Eden forgot that if the rewards are not up to par, why would we run it over a much easier/quicker poi? It has lots of loot but by the time you can run the black pyramid its not worth it.
Shame this got nerfed in terms of loot - would that be something to mention to Ravien or Vermillion? Not that I have an expectation of them listening to a request for more loot. Thanks for the playthrough - at least I know not to bother with this POI, the rewards aren't worth the effort.
was certainly a few elite loot boxes, could it just be bad luck? is any more of that procedural now and might be vastly different next time? good run btw. cheers
POI blueprints are not procedural, while there can be multiple different versions that may spawn, each of them would still be custom made and anyways I doubt that is the case with this one so what you see is what you get. The loot inside the boxes is random, but the boxes themselves are placed by the build creator and will never change unless the blueprint is manually edited and reintegrated into the POI spawn list.

The game doesn't really have a system that could do that, at least not without leaving some evidence behind. Blocks can't be cleanly removed outside of creative mode; they can be destroyed, but then there would be damage around where the loot boxes used to be.
That’s not a please fix moment that’s a please put back the way it was moment. Lot of effort for little reward. I could see them taking out the way to cheese the BP but then leave the loot alone. Or leave the cheese and lower the loot but not both. You’ll be better off finding new Abandoned POIs for loot instead.
The core. A single block, cant use more then one has been the "core" item for us since day one. I dont understand how we can have a fake or 2 Cores in anything.
I think I've seen somewhere on steam forum for RE that there could be more than one core. Not just core and fake core but multiple that all need to be destroyed.
Black pyramid not worth it sort of killed me a little inside when I found one an did it. Another great poi that has had someone go nope no you don't deserve fun. Sorry for the salt still bitter lol.
While I did enjoy these two videos, I have to say, this POI is pretty worthless now. It was just barely worth doing legitimately before the nerf in my opinion, now it may as well be painted onto the terrain for all the good it is. It would have been fine to just de-cheesify it, but now that the majority of the loot is gone, why bother spending an hour or two getting murdered over and over again? It would be faster to just take my helmet off in space repeatedly, then at least it would make sense to get nothing in return and I wouldn't use up all my meds in the process.

Yeah, I understand WHY they did it...but no thank you. Black Pyramid is just too much of a grind, too much of a time commitment considering what you get. It used to be my Get Rich Quick Scheme, now I think it's going to be on my To Avoid list. :(
If they keep neufing the rewards in the POIs then they will take the fun out of it and then people will play something else, I like the game very much, they did a good job making it, but I mean why spend $10 for an update that has less rewards and the fun of finding them, than it used to have....? Perhaps you might be able to pass these comments on please.

This right here is exactly why I started working on my own scenario to balance the grind RE takes for what it gives.

The golden rule of the Black Pyramid is that if you think you got all of the Sentry Guns and it is safe to move forward, you are likely wrong
The BP is not really worth the effort now. Something like the Ark is easy to decore and provides a decent amount of loot.

They need to fix the AI pathing first. They get stuck on walls so often and can't bother to shoot.

You must have taken a refresher 'Storm Trooper Sharpshooter Course' before this episode. I have never seen so many near misses.

Implant chips for suits would be sweet. I know suits have the boosts already but having permanent boosts on a suit would be great !

@tonyug113 that's what I was thinking, a deco block basically. It's the only scenario I play. Though star salvage is fun too.

@Xerkus apparently after digging, you can make pois with multiple cores. At least since '22.

This is the modder's doing not Eleon's responsibility. Reforged Eden is going / has gone hardcore grind.
