I just ordered me a practically brand new fuji X-E2 which was like finding a needle in a haystack in this immaculate brand new condition. Primary focus is taking photos of my fishing tackle primarily soft plastic baits with a lot of glitter in them and some of them are small like insects so a macro lens is what i really want albeit all the good 80-105mm ones are pretty pricey for someone that's just starting out so Would this be the best lens without breaking the bank?

Probably would be perfect. The thing with macro photography though is you need good lighting, so getting a sharp but a more budget oriented lens would let you spend some more in lighting as well!

I have the X-E3 and the X-S20. The Laowa 65mm lens is popular for ASP-C macro photography, Dustin Abbott called it a "Champion Lens". For lighting people tend to use the Godox V350 flash and there is a version of this for Fujifilm cameras, it is called the V350F. You may need a diffusor to soften the lighting. It depends how big your bank is, but the system should not break it.
I just searched on UA-cam with the words "Laowa 65mm macro" and quite a few videos were found. I recommend that you watch some of them and make a decision.
I bought the 65mm lens and V350F flash within the past two weeks, but have been too busy to try it out. If you are in the UK you may have trouble buying them because they were out of stock in most shops.

It is an ok lens for the APSC cameras, but I do not like the optical design, I like "oldscool" designed macro Lenses with recessed front element in the Lens, like Leica Macro Elmarit 60mm 2.8, Contax Zeiss Macro Planar 60mm 2.8 T* and Voigtländer Macro APO-Lanthar 65mm 2.0 and 110mm 2.5 Lenses.
