You need to make more videos Shirley!your one of the few gurus i love to watch because your very chic and classy and seem like such a sincere person!Much love all the way from Texas!
finally all those summer camp days of makin the box & double box lanyards will pay off, it's literally the same technique just different material being used! #amazing thank you so much shirley for this -3
i used to do this on lanyard when i was younger. we called it the box. such a great idea for a necklace! i will definitely try this soon! i can only imagine how many different colors and patterns can be made. cool idea, thanks for sharing!
Honestly i have to left thumbs and couldn't do a DIY to save my life, but i just love watching your videos your so ethereal and pleasant. Your just enjoyable to watch!!
Oh cool! That process is the same as braiding those lanyard key-chains everyone used to carry in elementary and middle school. I loved making those! (I don't know if you all did over there but in the US it was pretty popular) That is such a cute idea! Thanks Shirley :)
I remember making these with the colorful plastics as a child. There was even the Chinese staircase that twirled around. Using this design with fabric is brilliant :)
Shirley you are so creative and artsy!!!! the necklace you made is actually better than Monki's necklace. thank you for sharing your technique with us, you are the best!!!!
I LOVE YOU FOR THIS SHIRLEY OMG. My mum would always complain that i buy too many for unreasonable prices, and I was about to buy some today, then i saw this, saved me a lot of money & you should really do some more accessories jewelery
Hi Shirley - love that you're using stuff from the hardware store. I do some industrial style jewellery with ring pulls, rivets and washers etc. Anyway, this is proper bonkers - love it!! And love the progressive house sound track too - keep going!!
I stumbled onto this while youtube surfing and I can't wait to try it. I'm glad I already know how to do the box knot. I would have never thought to do it with fabric. Now I know what I can do with that bag of tee shirts that are taking up space in my closet. Thanks for the idea.
Did one just yesterday with scrap turquoise jersey from another project, only made the chain a bit longer, and used clasps instead of chain hooks...TOTALLY LOVE IT! Will try again, more DIYs please:)
OMG. This a just like an adult version of the old school key chains we use to make in middle school (early nineties) lol wonderful job luv. can't wait to try it.
About five or six years ago I learned how to make "scooby doos" (as they were called), and I love that this is exactly the same method, only being used to make something so clever! Thank you for this lovely tutorial- it was clear, concise, and you obviously put a lot of effort into making sure it came across that way. Well done to you! The necklace turned out brilliantly, and I'm so excited to try it myself- I've so many scraps of fabric from old DIY jobs that had no use until now! xo
I didn't have any fabric so I used an old jersey material shirt. I didn't have S hooks and chains so I uses my wire string. I made to a coral one like yours and an ombre coral one. It came out so awesome!!! Love your DIY videos and your channel :-)
