The funniest part about big run is wahoo is a really good salmon run map
Its such a good map, that its literally the only one. We haven't had any more big runs with different maps.
I genuinely quite like Wahoo World in solo but I **really** liked it for SR. I want it to come back i'm sick of ignoring half the rotation because I hate Spawning/Marooners 😭
I missed gold by like, 10. I wasn’t expecting to even get silver so I was pretty happy still! Can’t imagine not getting gold by like 1 that’s gotta sting.
Speaking from experience, it does. It _really_ does.

Just remember like some few people have said before: if everyone who got 136 made it to 137, the top 5% then would have been *138.*
Not sure if this is a "it's fated to be unlucky" sort of thing, but it's mathematically just outright false. It literally doesn't move the 5% bracket at all if every single player below 137 was bumped to 137. Only people moving from 137 or lower to numbers higher than 137 would move the line.
Unless there was a huge majority of people at 136, the line separating the top 5% would not move another number if those specific people had achieved +1 more to get 137. Only if everyone in the world achieved +1 would that line be guaranteed to move.
I'll be real, I thought the top 5% quota would be much higher than 137

You guys are forgetting that a large majority of the people who play this game are kids, the people you see online posting about 200+ eggs are in the top 0.1%, with coordinated teams.
Only about 20% of the userbase is in EVP, so 5% being a high but very achievable score for EVP makes complete sense.
I'm not that big on Inkjet in multiplayer, but I LOVE it in Salmon Run. It's easier to avoid (most of) the Salmonids, they're usually easier to hit than human-controlled Inklings/Octolings, and the attack's range and blast radius makes it really easy to revive downed teammates.
And you can easily take down Flyfish and Stingers with it.
@inthewrong7766 When I see more than 1 Flyfish I immediately pop Jet or Crab no questions asked. Doesn't matter if its wave 1, those fuckers are HORRIBLE to deal with in higher HLs.
I hate Inkjet in multiplayer simply because none of the good weapons get to have it
The funniest death Ive ever had was Inkjetting and a Maws GOT me lmao
I found out recently you can still place eggs in basket while flying and I clutched a wave by getting the last egg in while flying over all the chaos at the basket lmao
For a guy who doest play salmon run often, that's AMAZING!

Wish we could trade items. I got the bronze trophy, but I wanted green.
At 1:59, if you look closely you got the egg. It was wrapped in net and everything, then in an instant the game robbed you of it. I swore this kept happening to me and I thought I had gone mad. Good to see it’s an actual issue and not my brain playing tricks on me.
At least, it seems like you had a good chance with an organized team. Outside of one team with randoms (where I got 144 eggs), none of my records would have been enough to make it.

Got 160 eggs with people from salmon run discord
Being around 220% hazard level was the sweet spot for the eggs to enemy ratio though it was all about getting mothership and fog for the over fishing
They will consistently get you over 50 eggs at that hazard level
Especially high tide. I once got high tide goldies where every single goldie decided to deposit 10 golden eggs next to the basket. We didn't even have time to put all of them in due to all the nearby bosses and lessers sadly.
The fact that I got a gold statue and a top level player did not is such an ego booster, but missed by one egg? That must absolutely suck
But Chara is a top player in ranked and not in salmon run. It doesn't fully translate but also he said he only play for like an hour and a half of big run total.
Since Wahoo World was out for the Big Run they should invade Mahi Mahi Resort next for another W
I wasn’t close to gold during the big run, but the day after it ended I got 146 in freelance on my first game 😔

Ooh that's rough, I got 141 and I thought that with so many overfishers out there the top 5% would be like 180 or something. I only played on the first day, so I was stressed because I thought I was going to miss the gold statue.
Running into Salmon Run is filled with expected surprises, but unexpected results. Also I have a question for you and anyone who would like to answer: In all of Splatoon, what do you truly believe makes Splatoon fun? Honest answers are the best answers. for me its the concept of swiming in the ink to reload and you have to paint the map and turf. refreshing from things like csgo, cod, and valorant

Novel mechanics like the ink recovering your health and ammo while functioning as a stealth sprint, novel movement mechanics like the squid roll, and novel weapon mechanics (i.e. Brellas, Rollers, and Sloshers, especially my beloved *Bloblobber*, come to mind). It's so fun and fresh compared to a lot of dark, moody, dusty shooters that haven't changed how the game plays more than "gun go bigger and stronger". The fact that a lot of things have dual purposes (clothes are not only cosmetic, they have abilities; ink serves as ammo/regen/sprint; leveling up gives you a chance of gaining cosmetics or items that can affect play, etc). It's one of the only games I can think of that has a multitude of different currencies and unlockables that are all rewarded exclusively through gameplay and never pay to win outside of some minor cosmetics (amiibo stuff). The game feels really fair and exciting overall in nearly every aspect and that keeps it really fun! Sorry for the rambling response but I love this game more than I realized lol

About the map thing, I’m glad it’s this way for gameplay purposes however it makes no sense. Inklings should be able to use their super jump in their own territory

This is litterally what I need, I’m a veteran splatoon player that’s been here since the first game, I know what I’m doing and can hold off on my own just fine but found I couldn’t really get anywhere due to 0 friends that play this game/ no communication

I thought that the help menu was the amount of eggs. I didn’t know it was based on percent. If I knew that I would have cared more for a 77 egg wave instead of disconnecting for familly.

during big run i went from profreshional +2 to go getter
i got my high score in the first few games and then it went down from there
i didn't like the whole competition thing, because its just completely dominated by coordinated teams
