Any half-assed attorney can have that confession thrown out on account he gave it under duress
Exactly. I think it eventually does. The Mayor says NYC is going to "go to bat" for Garber. My guess it gets tossed quickly.
But still will never know if things happened as he explained it
I don't think the point of the scene is supposed to be taken as a technical legal indictment.
The point is that we are supposed to hear in his voice that he is being brutally honest In admitting what he did because he cares more about saving this kid's life then he does protecting his own ass.
In that moment if you're on the phone you're not going to be thinking about the legal technicalities of what happens if you lie lol
@@random-nz7dy Still, a DA, who could try to go after him, would have a hard time making a case since they wouldn’t be able to use that confession
@@joewhitehead3 bro, again, not the point of the scene, like, at all. You're acting like the movie was setting out to make legal statements lol
John Travolta was an ABSOLUTE BOSS in this one. A vulnerable Denzel was on another level!
How much how much? 😡
How fucking much?
Snipers adjusting the scope for a shot being less than like 100 yards away is hilarious.
Not only was it 4 clicks, he adjusted the windage, not even the elevation lol they're in an underground tunnel 😆
@@C0SM1CDUD3 Dont forget the train running by in the next track... like they wouldnt shut that shit down.
Travolta is absolutely legendary in this role . He absolutely knocked it out the park . Seriously underrated performance.
just what I was talking about with my wife, when travolta acts like a villian he is a fucking god!!
Travolta and Washington are awesome in this scene.
It's hawwwwwwt
Honor among thieves. This scene was beautiful in every way. The tension, the build-up, the manipulation, and honesty.
“Lemme explain sum to you “🤣
tbf, Japanese trains are next level - their rail network is the benchmark of the world. Getting paid an extra 35k for recommending the choosing of the better train is just a coincidence
💯
We should build our own trains
@@1stwonder788We would, if our manufacturing actually built something worth of value. As a superpower nation of the globe, we’re bafflingly behind in transportation like the subways.
On the flip side, globalization has brought tremendous unprecedented economic prosperity to these other countries and our local citizens. So I don’t see the problem.
America absolutely could have superior infrastructure, but our government is always busy arguing over which bathrooms gay people use or whatever, and paying all the taxpayer money out to the families of black people who are justifiably killed by the police. Japan doesn’t have these sorts of problems.
If I were a rival train company I would make it look like the Japanese train company bribed somebody and get their bid thrown out. It wether it succeeds or not.
3:56 “he makes it work” 😂
You gotta love a villain who is always quick with an unexpected compliment.
😂😂😂😂that part
This scene is layered in a way that the movie never reached again. Great movie, but this scene is exemplary work by everyone involved. #RIPTonyScott
How did you do it?
@@constantinvaldor3742 I went to Japan to look at these trains
@@daniaoktaviana3172 what did you spend it on?
What a great scene. Travolta and Washington, gives me goosebumps.
5:44 his eyes in tears when garber confess
my tears were similar
You know, this scene is actually genius because he got this guy to confess to a crime under duress, so it can potentially be dropped. So even though this is a real confession based on the circumstance, this makes the outbursts inadmissible.
True, confession under duress is a no go
Denzel movies always make me emotional. That's why he's my favorite actor.
Best scene in the movie imo, not even close.
This Part Always Get To Me
This movie doesn't get half the love and appreciation it should.
How much
Thirty uh
How fckin much
I cnt I'm cryin
😂😂😂
The look from everyone of understanding of using the money just for ones children future
I think it’s more that they all knew he did it, but they felt sorry he had to admit to this under these circumstances, it’s not really fair. This kids life on the line and he was forced to admit it
@@nathanlatham5651 Well, fortunately for him nothing he said can be used against him because it was under extreme duress (and he can just say he lied)
They had GREAT chemistry.
Ryder was like Jack Bauer cleared up everything in less than 5 seconds
this movie is so good.
Travolta and Denzel were FCKN spot-on as characters in this movie. I love this movie so much more because of the acting than anything else!
Yea uh in court that "confession" wouldnt be allowed,
Judge: why did you give this confession?
Denzel: he said he would kill a teenager if i didnt admit to taking a bribe
Judge: oh well this was clearly given under duress, so we must strike this from the record
Denzel: thank you your honor
MY FAVORITE SCENE 💯💯 TRAVOLTA & WASHINGTON 👍👍👏👏
The chemistry between these two is incredible.
Everything is good, from the director, actor, storylines, action dialogue and everything
Both actors r good at what they do. This is such an understatement.
Such a good movie. This movie is one those underrated hidden gems.
I love this scene, most parents would do anything for there kids. Obviously it wasn't right but he had no money for tuition
RIP James Gandolfini.
Wait what was he in this?
@hansgruber788 he was the mayor.
@@VisualizeAndWin no way I need to rewatch this film
It’s funny because I was watching a sit down with the cast of pulp fiction and John said. That movie changed his acting options, he went from the hero protagonist to more edges, complex characters like this one
I’m sorry for you man you are getting yourself in a lot of trouble
John Travolta will always one of my favorite actors.
Travolta's acting this this movie gave the impression he didn't want to be there.
Love Travolta as the villain, always a good show with him.
Still love this movie
Favorite scene
Such a good movie very underrated.
good movie
This movie really reminds me to always be a good father.
Travolta played an awesome unhinged bad guy that even in the end i found myself sympathising with a bit
scene funny asl 🤣🤣
Garber took up the bribe just like Mel Gibson did on Ransom
Another great film with Gary Senise
John is in love with a 2 toned p226. The 3rd movie I’ve seen him using one
6:24
you can feel the genuine psycho when Travolta has the kid thank Denzel for saving his life,
I have to look at this again
I don’t think so I DONT FUCKEN THINK SO ! 😂
So they went from a meticulous well done thriller to a psychotic.
Amen!
Sure man, the psychotic took the train MF , and he's thinking like 1 hour.
Couldn't stand 5 seconds of the 1974 trailer. Must be more borefest than my entire trig semester.
I've always thought this movie would have been better if Washington and Travolta switched roles. It's not that they both didn't do fantastic in the roles they played, but I just feel like they're more suited to play the other character.
Interesting take. I think you are right. That's what it means to have to master actors. Denzel would have added a tragic/nihilistic slants to the character. Travolta would have nailed the quiet desperation of the character.
Wow, what an amazing performance by Travolta! Holy shit!
And authority was documenting his confessional statements right away. That's crazy😃
It was under duress. Not a confession that would hold but it could help them with a paper trial. Still after what this guy went through, I'd say he earned the bribe.
When you become hostage negotiator, you say whatever you can say to diffuse the situation
Movies like this hit a chord. We are slaving away while politicians on both sides use insider trading to become filthy rich. But god forbid we reach out too high.
Honestly, his confession is worthless to anyone trying to use it; He was clearly under duress when he gave it.
I kept thinking he was still going to shoot the kid
For the sake of saving a kids life or just lying since he didnt give him a choice other than saying he took the bribe. This guy is fine
"Tell Garner thank you"
"Thank you Garber"
"THANK YOU GARBER FOR SAVING MY LIFE" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love when movies humanize the antagonist even if they are truly a good person just doing bad things for a good reason.
3:55 I dont know how this works but its not gonna look good in his casket😂😂
People in ny really go through this. That place has put the squeeze on people
so this movie illustrated in a major way why papers shouldnt be allowed to post arrests/trials until the person is found guilty
3:53 the train is moving? seeing those lights "passing" in the background, or there is another one passing on the opposite line
fantastic acting by all but the teen, that teen really had a "is it over now" energy that did NOT sell the fear or trauma of the moment and as soon as the gun was down he just sounded bored
Ohh SNAP!
3:31
Oho the real jawan
lol guys 10 feet away adjusting his scope couple notches
Y'all didn't really make the computer go "beep boop" when loading the New York Post. Come on now.
What motivated Travolta to force densely to speak up because people get curious when it comes to bribery.his point in taking hostage is all about money.
How could he take a bribe by just recommending one train over another? All the Japanese corporation did was give him more money for recommending their train. Doesn’t really make much sense, which even if it did, Ryder had Garber’s back to the wall so Garber can’t be blamed for that, lol. And plus, Garber only “took a bribe.” Ryder was a murderer. Powerful scene and movie though. I saw this saw this in theaters with my dad.
Nice watch for a guy who just got out of jail 😂
John Kevin Denzel Al woahhhh!!!!!
Lolololol why's he adjusting his longitude in a tunnel
Garber did it for his Kids, John Q did it for his kid😢
That's not an admission that's just telling a psycho what he wants to hear
When youre sitting that close to the target you dont need a damn scope. Hollywood bs.
Name a better action film genre director than Tony Scott RIP
Ryder is just Charlie wax if he became a bad guy
Terrific movie, they just don't make movies like this anymore. Nowadays it's all CGI BS
35k for more than one kid's college tuition XDDDD
How can someone be demoted when the charges have not been proved?
I guess so, as long as they keep your paygrade.
Is that freaking HENRY CAVILL he points hes gun at??
no
Hallmark of a bad movie: Computers that beep
i love the chemistry between these 2 ,i want to see more movies with these 2
Bollywood jawan copied the train scenes ditto
What fkn bribe?
Canadian train would be a bombardier. Japanese train is better 😅
George's girlfriend is so pretty
you gotta be completely honest with me man; DONT HAVE TO LIE anyways man; there seems to not be law these days no mo..
Remember when all navigators had annoying sounds when you clicked and opened a file?
I really love these guys....Jtvt + Dnzl
Goddamn, two amazing actors. Travolta kills this role.
This was the worst movie John ever did,,, not sure what he was thinking when he read thus garbage script, same goes for Denzel 🤮
Battlefield earth is one of the worst films ever made and John was highly involved.
John Travolta was amazing in mid 2000's
Pelham , paris with love , hairspray , basic & unfortunately wild hogs is where it STOPS
