How to use PiP ( Picture in Picture ) on a Samsung TV to Watch 2 Screens at once

- Hi, this video shows you a useful feature that a lot of TVs have especially the newer televisions. It is called PiP which stands for Picture in Picture. It is useful if for example you are gaming on your Xbox or PlayStation and you want to watch football at the same time so you don't miss any action, it allows you to watch 2 things at the same time on the one screen.

Can both sources be HDMI if the TV has multiple HDMI ports? So say you're streaming a game and using this TV as a monitor, can you have your desktop as most of the screen and then the system as the the PIP so you can get a live view of the game?
Other than a gaming system, what source can be used to provide the secondary picture?
Meh I don’t know if they removed it but the function doesn’t work. It should be possible to do this between two apps like Plex and UA-cam as well.
can u choose like Netflix or something else other than the tv channels?
mine only lets me use coax which i dont use so I need to know how to make my tv allow 2 HDMI signals at once. Who uses coax cable for cable anymore though?

Can you play PS4 and watch TV through both HDMI? Like you can only use HDMI and not have the cable line plugged directly into the tv

@@Kefeliaros how would that work? My tv only gives options for either antenna or cable. But I want to watch my chromecast (hdmi) while also on my PS4 (hdmi). I don’t see any options in the menu to select a different input other than antenna or cable
@@kefkop12 soo let my explain on some television they can have a PIP mode (picture in picture) that feature can let you watch TV and play on PS at the same time I ussaly do that when it's going good film:)

PIP functions using input from two HDMI sources would be a decisive sales feature.

Look into OREI 4K Multi HDMI Viewer.
(There are multiple products on the market that do this but relatively few will have stable output video / no blinking or freezing esp in PIP.) Look for 4K60/HDR support, stable output, wired IR input (and IP or RS-232 control if integrating with home automation)

I've been always scared of 4K tv's because of scaling for pc usage, but your pc shows very clear, it's not "4K tiny" as one would expect, do you have any scaling settings on your windows for it to look like that?
It's very useful whenever you have a Samsung smart TV or a normal Samsung TV

New technology...? Had it on my vcr in 1991, and it wasn't that expensive.
I just think this is just crazy that some of the newer tv's doesn't support this feature. If anything, samsung should have improved this feature rather than remove it. This is a problem that they really need to fix, I don't see how it was removed to begin with.
This may have a surprising amount to do with content licensing & contract language. In the old days TVs got PIP from antenna/analog inputs, completely opaquely & privately, so it didn't matter who was watching what how. And till few yrs ago digital TVs just followed that same naive approach. Now everything is measured, 0 privacy. If you're shown an ad in a tiny PIP & no sound, how much is your viewing of it worth to the advertiser? Not as much as the big screen. Do all advertisers have the same opinion about it? Can you imagine the cost & migraine from navigating this in a conference room full of lawyers, for channel after channel after channel? For now they just strip the feature.
...But external boxes exist that do this, called MultiViewers. They vary by quality *a lot* (signal choppy or unstable on lesser units etc). Look into OREI 4K Multi HDMI Viewer. Say a 4x2 model lets you manage 4 sources across up to 2 TVs (I use just 1 TV but the 2nd source audio extraction is handy)

I have a decoder (HDMI) as my primary TV feed, but on the PIP options of my TV (same model of yours, kinda. mine is 55 in) there is only AIR and CABLE none of which works.
How do i get around to using PiP in this case?

What if you want to get a really big 4k tv BUT want a small screen for computer work. OR maybe use just the lower half of the screen as a ultra wide PC monitor? Is this possible?
This video doesn't help much unless you need help understanding the icons for size and placement of the PIP. A 5 year old can explain that. When I'm in PIP settings it doesn't allow me to select a source (USB). How to fix this? That would help

You have to have 2nd source hooked to the coax input it will then allow. If you don’t have a source that uses coax you can buy a converter which will but will only pass low def. I use it with over the air and sat.

I can't wait until someone can figure out how to make a TV that outputs sound from the main and picture and picture at the same time.
A workaround with this for me, on an older TV with component and composite input was to plug the white composite plug from my ps3 to the white socket on video 1 and the red composite plug from my ps2 to the red socket on video 1. The yellow plug for the PS3 is plugged to yellow socket for video 1, while the yellow plug is plugged to the yellow socket of video 2. Main is set to video 1, and picture in picture is set to video 2. Audio can be heard from both sources although the audio isn't stereo. For some odd reason on my TV, even if I plugged one of the composite audio jacks and not the other, I can still barely hear audio on the other speaker, so it is not completely mono audio.
Now the downside of new TVs. They have HDMI, and you cannot have one source play on one speaker and another source play on the other speaker. You cannot disable audio, whereas, if you want to disable audio with composite, you just unplug the white and red cables. Even with my newer flat screen TV, you cannot just plug the video and not the audio. The TV won't let you switch to the composite input until you plug all 3 cables, which sucks.
Now if a TV can output audio from both the main source and the picture in picture source at the same time, then I won't have to find a way to have one speaker play audio from one source and the other speaker play audio from another.

After trying this myself, it seems you cannot do any hdmi input on the small screen. I want to stream two NCAA basketball games at once, one DirecTV channel and one from either Xbox or PC.
But since I don't have anything directly in the coaxial, the small screen won't show my directv channel either 😡

I have new Samsung UN55MU7000FXZA.
The wife wants to play Pogo on it without going through the pc.
I have a wireless keyboard and mouse connected to this tv and it works fine.
We are connected to the WWW via wifi with the tv and can bring up Pogo or Anything via Google or any of their preset
The native browser of this tv is Google/Chrome and this is fine for Pogo but . . .
Pogo complains that it needs the latest version of Adobe Flash Player.
I don't know how to navigate to the location where to INSTALL and ENABLE this update within the tv?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, to be honest no, not really. To me it seems fine for gaming but when using 4K for films it is hard to get a nice colour with it either looking washed out or really vibrant. The TV is OK for the money and has great Smart TV features (youtube,netflix etc.) but I think maybe I should have spent a little more money as my wife finds it hard to watch anything unless it is in cinema mode (picture settings) as it can look fake and cinema mode to me looks like 1080p even when watching 4K. Maybe I need to read up how to calibrate it properly but normally I am happy with the other TVs I have using the set menu picture options.

I tried to test this TV in a shop, and seems that this models can have some problems with displaying fast sceces like racing, fighting, etc.
In this kind of scenes, you can notice the trails on fast moving objects, like part of previous frame. (something like this - i.imgur.com/9vybinw.png KS)
Now sitting here and thinking that maybe I'm to picky, because I don't need all these modern tech in tv, like hdr, clear motion - interpolation,...
Just want simple and not overpriced TV, that is fast, and can display good picture.

Hi, no not on my TV, I can only ever have the Freeview in the small screen, not even another HDMI input, only the Freeview.

im so jealous, i got a sony x900e and it might as well not have a pip mode. From sony website "Note: The PIP window will automatically close if another video starts playing on the main screen." the PIP in the x900e is limited to only 1 screen and i am locked to the browser screen, meaning i cant watch TV and play my game at the same time. I am buying a new tv for black friday this year just because of that😡
