The Perfect Prescription is my favorite Spacemen 3 album. I also love Spiritualized Ladies and Gentlemen we're Floating in Space.
Perfect prescription one of my all time favorite albums
Hopefully youve come around to appreciating Lazer Guided Melodies
The 'other guy' in Spacemen 3 was, of course, Jason Pierce aka J Spaceman of Spiritualized.
This song certainly creates an atmosphere and environment.
That sound is Petes Vox Starstream. I have coveted that guitar since I first met him many years ago. Never did find one in decent condition.
and now they have made an album together...
Enough to make a grown Psych Rock fan cry :')
Would love to see other versions(from other bands) of Spacemen 3- I love you. That's one masterpiece.
If you want to hear that, listen to “A Tribute To Spacemen 3” album. It’s fantastic.
The best Spacemen 3 album is Playing with fire no question
Too true. Absolute masterpiece.
I was coming down off Acid on a Saturday morning watching the chart show on ITV, in the UK, when I first heard this track and saw the video. The graphics in the video blew me away as much as the tune did. Boy oh boy those Strawberries were strong trips 🍓.
Needless to say Recurring was top of my shopping list that weekend.
Spacemen 3 was a great band. Have 2 very solid albums but glad it did not work out and Spiritualized was able to be born out of that.
Spiritualized is great but not nearly as close as S3
@@destfuehler9724 Well, Spacemen 3 had 2 very good albums. 2 and a half if I’m generous. Spiritualized has had like 7. I personally love the first 4 more than anything Spacemen 3 ever did. Music is subjective and Spiritualized is my jam.
@@cactaceous I'd say Spacemen's legacy is more consistent. If Spiritualized had broken up at LAGWAFIS, or even Amazing Grace, their legacy would be vastly superior. But recent albums have decayed it a bit. Spacemen never created an album in the same galaxy as LAGWAFIS though. Or Lazer Guided Melodies/Pure Phase arguably.
Every track he suggests is tight. I love seeing him talk about music he is into.
Wow. Fascinating stuff.
sure is, friend
It's only now that I discovered that Big City was not a Jason Pierce song. Based on the vocal, I always presumed it was him. Wow.
What your forgetting is that Big City was recorded in 1990. Absolutely nothing sounded like that entire album. They're fucking pioneers. I'm sick of little kids ripping off the hard work of Pete Kemper and Jason Pierce and take as their own. Spacemen 3, Spectrum, Sonic Boom and Spiritualized are going to be deemed much more pivotal to the great changes in music history. Of course too late.
Everything he said was either generic or could be applied to any other spacemen 3 song. Lol droney and dreamy?
Implying everyone is aware of Spacemen 3 and their music
I always thought 2:35 had a sinister sound to it and some other tracks on Sound of Confusion. Not dreamy at all.
Never heard of Spacemen 3 till Homer Simpson turned me on! ua-cam.com/video/tjVdLSPE7qo/v-deo.html
