I first seen his videos 19 months ago in a Detox while getting clean from Alcohol. Brought tears to my eyes because of the sincerity of his words and wisdom. Today I haven't had a drink and I'm Grateful for that. Work full time as an Addiction intake coordinator. Taking my certified addiction counseling certification and today I'm headed to the same Detox that I first heard him speak and my mission is to share my story with other addicts. God is Good

That's wonderful O WhyNot, and exactly How It Works! Continue carrying the message my friend. I had a friend with a few years sober "discover" Father Martin yesterday and pass it on to me. Been a lot of years since I'd listened to him and I'm going back through all his vids now. My disease makes me a slow learner, but a fast forgetter so its time for a review. I love how this circle of recovery just goes round and round

Well done o Whynot that's great I'm 3 years 8 month since falling of the wagon I booked myself into a detox, you've got to keep your guard up every day, avoid places where you can pick up the drug of alcohol, don't let addiction trick you into going near it , I haven't been to AA for some time but I'm going back to a group next Sunday, well done, never let your guard down 👍

Father Martin's teachings are awesome we need more priests like this and clergy to help the alcoholic and addict knowledge is the key to addiction and anything else we suffer from a spiritual malady a compulsive progressive disease that does not forgive who you are or what you are it becomes an obsession in our lives that only God can take from us

"How many hangovers does an alcoholic go through in a lifetime?" Father Martin asked. My response to that is, "Only one! I quickly learned that if I did not stop drinking, I would not get a hangover! Instead it would help develop my disease of alcoholism more quickly and intensely!" Thank God, Father Martin, and AA I was relieved of my alcoholism shortly after I quit drinking 05/31/02. Father Martin is sorely missed and I am so grateful to having been exposed to his videos in my early recovery! His message and humor may have played a role in my surrendering.

I saw this in my treatment yesterday and really like it. Again, the experience of addiction is something that's hard to understand for those who have not been there. I didn't even technically know he was in recovery, but at the same time, I knew he was. Only a recovering addict knows this stuff.

I do volunteer work in AA been doing it on and off for 40 years. A guy named Daryl accused me of battery via sticking him with a hypodermic needle. I never did hurt him. He lied. I was unjustly arrested after an aa meeting at a club i attend. Daryl has put papers of legal matters in the last few months on 4 people unjustly. He gambles does not take his medicine and then imagines things thatarenot true. Please pray for honesty and the truth to be revealed in this matter. I have never been handcuffed in AA for going to meetings and doing volunteer work. Now i choose not to do volunteer work at that aa club. Please pray on the matter. I saw a public defender today a family counselor and attended 2 meetings because i valje and love being sober. I hope i continue to have hope help other people everday. I am greatful to be sober. I have stage 4 cancer it was cured 4 times. I love my higher power.

Old sponce once said ( was about 3 months sober ) “ Shane you’ve been in the shit now all your life , yup I agree it’s nice and warm but it’s time to come out . Grab the hand of AA it’ll help ya get out . That was over 4.5 years ago god bless that man and my other sponcers , I still get in the shit at times but that’s life on life’s terms , I don’t think I’ll ever have enough grattitude for what God has done / doing for me . Here lays the problem I now at times beat my self up cause I think I’m not giveing enough gratitude, do I show it hell yea some one calls after a sucicide attempt I’ll drop class and travel to the next town , Iv changed my career and gone back to collage to become a special needs assistant for children . But at times I’m still hard on the most precious gift god have given me and that is me , praying for the penny to drop on that one . If my sponce says go out side in the rain and jump up and down I’d thank home for the guidance and go at it right away but the one suggestion I find hardest is not being hard on me , guess bit more horse manure and prayer is needed
