    Why do people complain about petroleum based pomades not washing out? It is petroleum and it should be common knowledge that it is hydrophobic.

    • @shaazsyed
      @shaazsyed 7 років тому

      Charlie Rakowsky the thing about Petroleum doesn’t damage your hair. What it will do is restrict any moisture from leaving your hair or entering it. So I always apply some coconut oil before applying a petro based product. I’ve been doing that for years and my hair is really soft.

    I´m using Uppercut Easy Hold, it has a nice scent to it.
    I´d like to move to Monster Hold, but the washing is a let down. I have bad experiences with Got2B products such as Clay and Wax. I´d assme is on parallel to Monster Hold.

      @@Praveenkumar-tx6ze I just switched to Uppercut *Deluxe* Clay. It Holds 8/10 and Shines 2/10. which is perfect for me has it gives a natural look. The best feautre: it´s a water based product and it washes easily... which means you won´t be pulling your hair, no hairfall. I think it depends on your hairtype and what look you are going for. (I´m going for Detective Loki haircut from the movie "Prisoners".

    I have tried many different pomades/clays for years, and they always seem to dry out during the day. At the end of the day, my hair still has a little bit of hold, but it just looks like Ive washed all the product out. It just looks dull. Is it because of my hair type or..? Does that mean I'm not using enough product?

    • @ThePokerhand

      Pomade from the brand Reuzel is what you are seeking, I recommend the green one.
      King Brown original pomade is a great choice as well, though the one from Reuzel gives you Better bang per buck.
      Good luck!

    What kind of comb do you use looks like a kent???

    • @thesamklick
      @thesamklick  9 років тому

      +MusicEst92 Yes, it's the KENT FOT 110mm Fine Pocket comb. I was using a cheapo plastic one until recently but the reviews on Amazon made me want to see what the big deal was. Turns out it really is a great comb, I won't be going back to the plastic one. The kent comb doesn't bend as you run it through your hair and the (teeth?) feel nice on the scalp.

    • @MusicEst92
      @MusicEst92 9 років тому

      Tell me about its an amazing comb. I had the FOT, but it was to small for me I now currently own the 7t and 6t. Amazing combs no question awesome quality. As for the uppercut monster hold its interesting to see how different hair products work different in different peoples hair. I purchased the monster hold over a year ago did me no good didn't have longevity the hair would start splitting within an hour. Nevertheless I'm sure it's a good hair product just not for me.

    are you suppose to have wet hair when using this or dry

    • @thesamklick
      @thesamklick  8 років тому +1

      I like to apply product after showering and towel drying my hair. So my hair is damp when I apply the product. I find it easier to work product into damp hair rather than dry hair.

    • @zach3955
      @zach3955 8 років тому +1

      For heavy pomades I would use wet hair. Damp is better for mediums and lights

    • @LongDongSilver78
      @LongDongSilver78 6 років тому

      You get the most body/lift by starting with a tiny amount into conditioned, DRY hair..very dry and pre-styled somewhat, not w/ pre-styler but brushed into place. Amount of product..size of a tic-tac, n that’s it. I’ve been using wrong my whole life putting waaaay to much😎👋

    • @wingsofpizza
      @wingsofpizza 8 років тому

      +kbkrisp when I straighten my hair my hair it only gets wavy when it get wet so can I apply this on dry hair? And also what do you recommend for 3 inch long hair, water based or oil based?

    • @thesamklick
      @thesamklick  8 років тому

      Sure, there's nothing wrong with applying on dry hair. This product has very high hold but it's oil based and tough to wash out of your hair. Since you straighten your hair, you might be able to straighten your hair in the direction you want and get away with using a water-based product with lower hold (like paul mitchell tea tree shaping cream). Depends on how much hold you need. If you can make due with the hold of a water-based product I would choose that.

    • @wingsofpizza
      @wingsofpizza 8 років тому

      +kbkrisp I straighten my hair forwards but I want to slick my hair back(don't know if that sentence is correct but you get the point.) so should I still use water based pomade or oil because when I straighten it, it refuses to go in any other direction.
