"this is like comparing a premier league football team to a non league side" 😂 I looooved this. Tells me exactly what I needed to know in terms that I can understand. Thank you, Fordy!
I totally agree with you. Sold my Evo SL for a SL2 which is more versatile. The Evo SL is definitely not a daily trainer so if you are considering it as one then you will waste your money like I did. It’s a great shoe but it’s at its best when you are running at tempo to marathon pace. The SL2 on the other hand can handle all paces
Morning all. Excellent comparison as ever. For my 65kgs, I prefer the superblast 2, but, at 🇪🇸 Spain the !!!size 9 is sold out!!!!!!!. Like to Fordy. Merry Christmas for everyone.
Just ordered a pair of the sl2s for 80 quid!wanted a daily trainer that I can do some up tempo work, will be using them for my marathon training can't wait to try them😁
My wife couldn't get me the Evo SL as a xmas present. She did, however, manage to get a pair of Superblast 2 in my size which really surprised me. I'm looking forward to running in them.
Seems like the rebel would be a better comp than the superblast, I was surprised to see it against the EVO sl. Great video though, I need to try the sl2 soon! It has a lot of hype
I have both The EVO SL and the Superblast 2s. Absolutely love both but the ADIDAS EVO SL is waaaaaaay more fun to run in. The propulsion is immediate and the ride is extremely smooth. I believe the EVO edges the Superblast 2s. Plus I can’t justify spending $200(US) on a daily trainer.
The Evo SL has a different geometry to it than the SL2, so it comes down to one's own biomechanics. If your biomechanics works better for you with the Evo SL, then it's a better value for you than the SL 2. Value goes beyond price tag.
While the SL2 is GREAT I don’t think they overlap in purpose. Get both lol I use my SL2 for speed work/intervals and the EVO SL for longer speed sessions or normal long runs. I tried the Boston 12s for this but had too much play on the ankle area 😢
Adidas Pro 3 beats all of these shoes in every category. I have Superblast OG and the only thing where it's probably better than Pro 3 is I guess you can squeeze more km (miles) out of it. But if we talk about midsole, there is no comparison. I'm disappointed with Evo SL, I expected more of it, considering it has the same midsole material as Pro3, so I will not buy it, and I will not be looking for the Superblast 2. The 2 shoes I'm ready to spend my money on in 2025 are Saucony Elite2 (Elite 1 is fantastic) and Adidas Prime X3. If there is nothing new in the new Prime X, than maybe Asics Meta Speed Sky 3 or Puma Elite 4. Or maybe none of these. Maybe only Saucony Elite 2. We'll see. The shoes I have already are close to perfect.
I am size 9 in all these SL2, Boston 12, Vapourfly 2 and 3, and Alphafly 1, 9 in NB Rebel 4, 9 in Saucony Endorphin Speed 3, Adios Pro 3, 9 in Deviate Nitro 2 but 9.5 in Puma Deviate Nitro Elite V1 and Nike Dragonfly V1. These all fit well and I have done lots of ks in all these shoes. Hope that helps.
I can't help but wonder how much of the hype this recent generation of Nike trainers is due to nostalgia and something like grading them on a curve in light of how much better they are than recent Nike trainers, which have been generally pretty mid.
SB2 is already a very stiff shoe; I'm not sure what putting a plate in it would do besides make it a little heavier. I suspect that Sonicblast is going to use a new, more resilient/softer foam, which might benefit from having a stabilizing element.
I found and bought 4 pairs in 4 different places the last 2 weeks, none was a adidas draft nor ebay or stockx. Today they have all sizes on shop4runners It’s honestly not that hard to buy.
@@christophercastrillon4737 they are litteraly everywhere. I bought 3 pairs in the last 2 weeks. Today you can buy them in 2 places in EU/UK. All sizes left. Honestly it has never been that hard to buy them if you work a bit for it.
Ok, we already knew the Peg+ bottoms out, the SL2 is cheap (in EVERY way) and the Evo SL is better than the SL2. And who on earth wants a comparison of those cheap little Adidas shoes with the Superblast? That could only come from people who just have heard the name and have no clue about anything. What is better, a sports car or a garbage disposal truck? lmao For all those who ask that questions: Get a Novablast 4/5 or a Zoomfly 6 and be happy :)
The SL2 is an bargain. One of my favourite purchases this year. Have a great Christmas Fordy, thankyou for all the fab videos.
same to you

yeah the SL2 better value
How do you 'sell' your shoes?
@@nkululekomabaso4273 Love the SL2 even more than I intitially thought, have them combined with Boston 12. Incredible combo.
@@frits8986 What roles do these 2 play? Is the B12 more suited to faster or slower runs?
Great comparison video Chris.

It was based on the comments not my own views
Is evo sl good for racing 10k with target 47-49 min?
How does the Evo SL compare to the Zoom Fly 6?
One has a plate one does not

I bought an extra SL2 for next year.

Fair enough thank you
SL2 value for money
The Zoom X in the Pegasus Plus "can't" be the same of the AlphaFly because there is no plate, it would be too soft and unstable.
While the SL2 is GREAT I don’t think they overlap in purpose. Get both lol I use my SL2 for speed work/intervals and the EVO SL for longer speed sessions or normal long runs. I tried the Boston 12s for this but had too much play on the ankle area 😢
Great 👌 review Fordy looking forward to 2025 keep up the great work 🎉🎉🎉
thanks alot merry christmas

You haven’t ran in the Evo SL but expected more from it?
lot of disappointment out there with the evo sl but was always gonna be the case when hyped so much
@@CorGP I'm relying on Chris' review. And I heard some others, nobody is delighted.
Anyone got comments on the SL2 sizing? I’ve heard all sort of stories on what size to get. 🤷♂️
I have TTS and it’s fine but I’d recommend 1/2 size up.
Lots say comes up narrow

Its all hype i think which is a shame
@FordyRuns Appreciate the reply! 0
The super last 2 is good but it does not make me feel awesome like the evo sl and if i had to have 1 the evo sl way more than the superblast 2.
fair enough merry christmas
Fordy imagine if the Asics Superblast had a carbon plate
It will get a TPU plate in 2025 and will be called Sonicblast allegedly.
That’s coming

@ I think so. Must be a softer foam.
I can barely bend the SB2 now because the foam is so thick and dense. They must be tweaking the foam somehow to effectively add a plate to it.
It’s a matter of finding a pair!
