- Lowering your TRX4 High Trail is Easier than most people think. You DONT need Shorter Links, You DONT need 90mm shocks.
You can Keep your 110mm Shocks and have the full travel the High Trail trucks come with.
It looks like there is alot involved but it is Extremely Easy.
**HOW TO GET MORE TRAVEL FOR FREE - TRAVEL LIMITERS ** [ Do This to get shocks to go down all the way)
* • Traxxas Trx4 High Trai... *
You will need:
Standard Steering servo - www.amainhobbies.com/traxxas-...
(you only need the open peice, the other goes near the back of the frame - only comes in 2 peices together)
*Optional*:
90MM Springs 0.39 Rate- www.amainhobbies.com/traxxas-...
90MM Springs 0.45 Rate - www.amainhobbies.com/traxxas-...
90MM Springs 0.61 Rate -www.amainhobbies.com/traxxas-...
( I Have .39 Rate , i think 0.39 - 0.45 would be perfect for trucks with plastic/no bumpers,
if you have steel bumpers , i would reccomend 0.61 Rate )

Great video man. Gonna do this to my high trail.
Thank you! I think it's perfect, lowers it enough to look a little more realistic but you still keep full travel for the rocks
Awesome Vid , I'm running the High Trail K10 body on a Element Ecto. It looks good with 90mm shocks!
Thank you, I'm having problems with my gopro so the quality sucks in the next few vids unfortunately.
That's awesome was it hard to mount up?
@@WastedWages402 Not Hard at all , drilled body post holes and made aluminum bumper mounts for the k10 bumpers , the wheelbase was almost spot on , its a very capable rig . Thanks Buddy
@RC-ll1rt that's awesome man! You should make a little phone video of er!
Where does the track bar mount after switching out the servo mount
to the fender
Does it climb better after being lowered? Mine always want to flip backwards, where my redcat ascent make it look easy
Yes it does climb easier and is more stable, not a huge night and day difference but enough to notice it
Thought high trails are 110mm shock but ither way i out stock sprot shock towers i got the servo mount but still a lil unsure on doing it
They are 110 but with the travel limiters removed they drop down far enough to be the same as 90mm
I kept stock strut towers
@@WastedWages402 perfect thank you
No problem thank you for watching!
I lowered my high trail chevy pickup 1 inch but my track bar is hitting my link mount on the front axle. I'm not sure why yours doesn't hit.

The stock Servo mount has the longer mount for the track bar, so if you get the standard (non high trail) Servo mount that'll raise the link up.
Mine still just barely touches at full compression but definitely helped.
(You can't buy just the mount it only comes in a kit with that brace, you don't need to use it , put it aside for spare parts)
Strange. I ordered a standard servo mount and it came with another plastic piece for the rear of the truck but no Track bar.
I also just cut my springs and removed the limiters
What about the rears? Do i use the same smaller 90mm springs? Thanks
I did on mine yes
They just help it sit lower and not be so stiff
You can replace the end links for shorter ones and also you will have to change drive shaft. But great video !!
Thank you!
I have the shorter links and driveshafts but didn't need them. There completely unnecessary and with stock ones you have full travel with no issues
