Who's to say it's "too techno" for Kasabian?? Kasabian have always had a strong techno feel. They've just decided to emphasise it and it's catchy as hell. Techno, hip hop and rock all mixed into one!
I saw Kasabian open the other stage at glasto in 2004. I've seen them 6 times over the years. Wouldn't stick this tune on at home but I saw them this year too and it fucking went off. When you've got as many songs under your belt as Kasabian, it's good to mix things up a bit and add another kind of banger to your already epic set.
I'm still not 100% sure on this song but i have to admit it sounds a lot better live. These guys have to be one of the best bands i've seen live and it's hard not to enjoy yourself whatever song they play.
I never really liked Kasabian till this track. But this song proves that they aren't churning the same old stuff forever, and they're adapting with the noughties.. Electronica is all that's in the chart now. So many bands have flopped revivals with the same old music: hard-fi, the kooks, reverend+makers, etc.. Kasabian have put a bit of Madness and Audio bullies into this. It's a summer anthem.
Love it ! they have not rushed shit albums out like KOL when they could have on the back of their success. People who are saying shit just need to hear it a few more times.
Watched later live on the Tuesday back then and Friday. Brilliant band, all the other artists loved them. Of course! Kasabian, awesome every member of band total talented. 🎸🥁🎹
I think this sounds great - has a lot of energy and I can hear it dominating my summer! To those who are complaining about this particular live performance, Tom is very much a frontman who bounces off the audience and he never fails to deliver when faced with a massive crowd. Can't wait to see them closing Glastonbury - they've earned it!
Because it's pathetically naff... if they wrote a song as good as Club Foot (early Kasabian was great) or something it'd get attention. This isn't anything on that. it's cheesy pastiche lad rock from a bygone era with a cheesy 4/4 synth thrown in with truly, truly awful lyrics. "I'm tired of taking orders, coping with disorders the wrong men have the power, they're turning my milk sour" "Every day is brutal, now we're being watched by google" Christ. Dreadful. It's like something written for the Fast Show as a parody of the madchester era.
But this is candy pop money-maker! It sounds like a remake of Blur's Girls and Boys, no originality. If they just wanted to give respect to Girls and Boys 20th anniversary, they could have at least added something new to the table, don't you think? Or maybe come up with a lyrics that doesn't insult Bieber's intelligence.
Serge- what ya doing? Looks you you and Tom competing in a Dad dancing competition! Good to see they are trying to evolve - a bit different and catchy I guess. They can't keep knocking out Clubfoot and Fire I guess!!!
I was talking about the roadie of Velociraptor! tour, I cant find his name. He's got the same britpop haircut as liam gallagher and ian brown haha and play a red semi acoustic gibson cheers mates!
"Being watched by Google" It sounds like Kasabian wrote that line just to shock people, which isn't a good formula for good lyrics. I really hope they don't start doing more songs like this because it just sounds crap to be honest, especially when you consider that this is the same band that made 'Lets roll just like we used to' and 'Underdog'.
lyrics are good. but not havin this future sounding electro bollocks that serg is massive on. just not my cuppa tea. it is a grower tho. defo get the album. nornally a couple of gems on them. check out narcotic farm a bside to goodbye kiss. thats fuckin amazing i think... about as futuristic as i will go ha
I just can't understand why the hell Serge is taking on the vocals... He's a good musician, but he can't sing and he's definitely not a frontman!! Tom has such a lovely voice...
I've always considered Kasabian as one of the rare few bands (post-Seattle era) with a unique sound BUT this song is just too formulaic. It sounds like a mashup of Blur's Girls and Boys and Psy's Gangnam Style. It's fun alright but I hope in their next records, they'd stop repacking 20-year old hits for $$$.
Christ this is bad - Kasabian trying to be Hot Chip and sounding about 10 years out of date. The lyrics aren't even one of those 'so bad it's good' situations either. Jesus.
each to there own i suppose. i think it is amazing. if you only like one genre of music then yes this might be bad to you but to open minded music fans like myself. this is a new era for them and it is just amazing. nothing else can describe it for me but you can have your opinion.
Kane Cooper Yeah Kane, it's fantastic isn't it. And how it's a bit different here at the end, I can see the potential of them extending it into some sort of jams when they play it live, though don't know if they will. But it's great nonetheless.
Kasabian a very ordinary band who have had the luck to find themselves in a era of not much else. Similar to Sterophonics. They fill a vacuum for festivals to get muppets in and feel like they are having the time of their life. Will be forgotten when gone. Pioneers of this durge where the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Utter shite.
+Chunky Lafunga I couldn't understand whether you were badmouthing red hot chili peppers or not but if you were you're sadly mistaken. The Chili Peppers were great as song writers and live as well(mostly with John Frusciante). Chad, Flea and John were/are all great at what they can do with their instruments and this shows in their songs and concerts.
Serge's dancing makes me so happy
Who's to say it's "too techno" for Kasabian?? Kasabian have always had a strong techno feel. They've just decided to emphasise it and it's catchy as hell. Techno, hip hop and rock all mixed into one!
Great drummer - holds this band together!
Incredible tune and amazing performance. It's addictive
The drummer looks so intense!!
Love these guy's, makes me proud to come from Leicester...;-)
There's just a really uncanny resemblance between Serge jumping around here and the Hitcher chanting "eels, eels, eels" from the Boosh
Ian is the driving force behind this band. Solid as a rock !
Loving the new album - great work again from Kasabian.
This song is so full of energy, love it!!!
I love the energy in this performance. Great opening track. So happy to see them back. I can't wait for 48:13 :o))
I'm still not 100% sure on this song but i have to admit it sounds a lot better live. These guys have to be one of the best bands i've seen live and it's hard not to enjoy yourself whatever song they play.
Their best album to date.
Kasabian always come up with something new and fresh. What the Kings of Leon do not do anymore......
Love it. Can't wait to see them again. I can see the crowd bouncing to this one!
When I watched on Jools Holland later, back then sounded awesome, I got headphones in , full volume, 🤣😀😀
Love it ! they have not rushed shit albums out like KOL when they could have on the back of their success. People who are saying shit just need to hear it a few more times.
power passionate performance.. neat beat.. intense heat..party groove
kasabian can do it all!rock n roll and a bit of rave!that's why there successful 😀
4 people have been kept up all night....great tune 👍
I'm really obsessed with the live one, mostly because the drums are so organic and the studio one has somehow buried the drums with the synth.
AHA! I missed this Tuesday night. Thanks for the upload. This song is gonna go down so well at Glasto. Love it :)
The guy wearing a white T-shirt is soooo cool! :)
sergio, the guitarist and singer (after tom)
Kane Cooper Thanks! ;)
SMASHED IT! This is going to go off in Victoria Park - Leicester in June!
Watched later live on the Tuesday back then and Friday. Brilliant band, all the other artists loved them. Of course! Kasabian, awesome every member of band total talented. 🎸🥁🎹
Wasn't a fan when I heard this first, but can't get enough of it now after seeing it live in Cork!
That was Amazing!!!!!
An earthquake is gonna be struck on the African-European tectonic plate boundary when Kasabian play this at Benicassim 2014!!
Awesome!
Is good to see them again :)
I was there it was amazing
Brilliant
Fuck Yeah, Kasabian did it again ! what a nice song !, I really hope they will come to Mexico, they due us one visit.
We've got to a point now that proper music, like this, doesn't get the proper attention that the pathetic candy pop gets nowadays.
Well said sir i completely agree
you say that like Kasabian isn't huge and haven't totally sold out their indie rock genre
"I'm tired of taking orders, coping with disorders
the wrong men have the power, they're turning my milk sour"
"Every day is brutal, now we're being watched by google"
Christ. Dreadful. It's like something written for the Fast Show as a parody of the madchester era.
i think this is still quite shit
But this is candy pop money-maker! It sounds like a remake of Blur's Girls and Boys, no originality. If they just wanted to give respect to Girls and Boys 20th anniversary, they could have at least added something new to the table, don't you think? Or maybe come up with a lyrics that doesn't insult Bieber's intelligence.
Genial
Still, bow is the best song on their new album
At least you cant say that have sold out, it's so weird and quirky for them, in terms of their music, that it couldn't be made to sell.
EELS..............UP INSIDE YA............FINDING AN ENTRANCE WHERE THEY CAN.................
Great!!
great.
they are extremly good live and I love them, they have the ability to make a shit song sound good
SUPERB!!
This sounds straight out of The Mighty Boosh
It really does!
lol one of them looks like it too
Personally prefer this over Bumblebee, if I would have to chose, mainly because I don't care for its yeah-yeah-yeah chorus.
Not arsed. Boss tune.
Agree
Serge shouldn't be allowed to play without a guitar hahahaha
And to think 7 years later, he'd be fronting the band, playing half a set without a guitar!
@@MikeSparrow and smashing it too tbf!
wow!
Serge- what ya doing?
Looks you you and Tom competing in a Dad dancing competition!
Good to see they are trying to evolve - a bit different and catchy I guess.
They can't keep knocking out Clubfoot and Fire I guess!!!
Listened to this and it's fucking ace. Last album wasn't great but I love the sound and this is soo bouncy.
that must be what jesus looks like at a rave
Լավ կատարում էր . Բարի լույս
i actually find this sound more interesting
well shit this song sounds so much better live than the studio version!!
3:00 rage against the machine
eez-eh eez-eh eez-eh eez-eh eez-eh eez-eh eez-eh eez-eh
fucking tune!
Toms thinking what’s happened to serge he’s dancing round like a Brit abroad!
The thing about Serge is....We've seen it all before...
where's the old roadie ? btw awesome performance
The old touring guitarist moved to play bass for Beady Eye I think
^You're right
Charley Passy he became an official member in 2010-11 i think
I was talking about the roadie of Velociraptor! tour, I cant find his name. He's got the same britpop haircut as liam gallagher and ian brown haha and play a red semi acoustic gibson cheers mates!
guidias sb Jay mehler?
STOP over-analysing shit u guys. Just Enjoy. This tune is CrazyClass. :))
Is it me or is Serge trying to be Vince Noir from The Mighty Boosh? This sounds like a very poor Hot Chip.
Serge
Basically this is the Mighty Booshes EELS..............With absolutely no irony at all!
All i see is comments from Armchair platinum selling "Artist" please tell the others how kasabian should make music with your armchair
sergio could keep it tighter with his moves, but I can deal with that... still digesting the tune though.
Mangia un po' Pizzorno! You've got to eat a little bit more Sergio!!
Sounds a bit like Audio Bullys. Ill have to give the album about another 10 listens before I make up my mind.
mmmmmmmmmm glad someone at the BBC knows how to deinterlace...
the guitarist looks like Sarazar :D
This song is nothing like basement jaxx? If anything it's more like Flaming Lips and Audio Bully's
Serge and the drummer make me feel so uncomfortable watching this
I know what you mean, drummer looks like the kid from spy kids and what the hell is serge doing haha
***** You reckon?
Serge is just having fun
next time i expect you to switch on "progressive rendering" :D
greetings from germany
3:17 a..a.a..u........
sounds like synth-brit gogol bordello) nice tho
Sounds a bit like madness?
"Being watched by Google"
It sounds like Kasabian wrote that line just to shock people, which isn't a good formula for good lyrics. I really hope they don't start doing more songs like this because it just sounds crap to be honest, especially when you consider that this is the same band that made 'Lets roll just like we used to' and 'Underdog'.
It's not about shocking people. It's a fact.
That's not the point. The point is that they never used to do this stuff, the old lyrics were thoughtful
But it was thoughtful in my eyes
I like the descriptions of the unheard tracks so far, so I'm not completely disappointed
I am now excited as shit for this album after hearing the samples for the songs
I was watching it and I thought - something isn't right here. now I know. Serge without guitar looks weird.
lyrics are good. but not havin this future sounding electro bollocks that serg is massive on. just not my cuppa tea. it is a grower tho. defo get the album. nornally a couple of gems on them. check out narcotic farm a bside to goodbye kiss. thats fuckin amazing i think... about as futuristic as i will go ha
Oh Kasabian, how you've fallen.
I just can't understand why the hell Serge is taking on the vocals... He's a good musician, but he can't sing and he's definitely not a frontman!! Tom has such a lovely voice...
I liked Kasabian until Velociraptor, but this song is even embarrasing.
if you wanna hear a old sound pls... listen older album
What the fuck man.
Since West Ryder, they've just been getting worse IMO, this is far too techno for Kasabian.
Since West Ryder? Velociraptor is probably their best album and that came after west Ryder.
Christ this is bad - Kasabian trying to be Hot Chip and sounding about 10 years out of date. The lyrics aren't even one of those 'so bad it's good' situations either. Jesus.
Make that 20 years out of date. Blur's done this song before. Girls and Boys in '94
horrific, theyve outstayed their welcome by far too long. That hiatus did nothing for them
bah ............
Nap
Basement jacks vs madness, doin euro borat disco shit. One of the worst yet from kasabian
each to there own i suppose. i think it is amazing. if you only like one genre of music then yes this might be bad to you but to open minded music fans like myself. this is a new era for them and it is just amazing. nothing else can describe it for me but you can have your opinion.
Kane Cooper Yeah Kane, it's fantastic isn't it. And how it's a bit different here at the end, I can see the potential of them extending it into some sort of jams when they play it live, though don't know if they will. But it's great nonetheless.
Gotta disagree but understand why some dislike it
I'm not keen on the others but this one is a banger for me
Kane Cooper It's nothing to do with being 'open-minded'. Don't create a false paradigm. It's just shit.
dude................. stop listen and take your meds
From West Ryder to this... so disappointed
Worst song in Kasabian's worst album.
You can just hear them straining with the effort of creating a pop hit
Kasabian a very ordinary band who have had the luck to find themselves in a era of not much else. Similar to Sterophonics. They fill a vacuum for festivals to get muppets in and feel like they are having the time of their life. Will be forgotten when gone. Pioneers of this durge where the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. you'll be forgotten when you're gone I'm afraid.

+Chunky Lafunga *Stereophonics are incredible songwriters
The big yin dances well...NOT
this is dire
Love Kasabian- don't like this
