Spectacularly helpful - especially about putting the tape on the level! Glad I googled it and found this. Your video really helped us here in Berlin, Germany.
This video would be a lot easier to watch and follow if, 1. the narrator spoke just a little slower, and 2, if there wasn't that awful, frenetic background music. Is that music really adding anything?
Appreciate the feedback, Philip. In our more recent how-to's, we've pulled back some of the audio to make following the steps a little easier. Thanks for the tips.
I have to agree ... he was speaking FAR TOO quickly ... as though trying to give the impression of " See how simple it is ... won't take you a moment " etc BUT the viewers watching this wouldn't be here if they were confident & so are obviously nervous about hanging a large mirror safely in the first place ! ( more so in my case ... as it is to be placed on my main wall directly above a fluid filled radiator ) And so it needs to be really secure. The terrible uneccessary, HYPER music in the background only added to the stressful feeling ... and so it was difficult to concentrate when considering all these factors. BTW : there had always been a large mirror on that same wall since first moving into my home ... BUT there was no radiator below it at that time. I still want to hang the new mirror in the same place as it's the main wall and focal point etc ... but much more stressful due to it being pretty heavy, large & above the radiator.
0:35 use bathroom scale to check weight of frame to then compare to how much weight each type of hanging tool allows for 1:44 can add bumpers to prevent scratching of the wall
It's the "hang it on the hooks" part that is giving me trouble. They are behind the mirror, as are the rings on the mirror. The rings fall down when I am not holding them, and I cannot see them to line them up.
Why bother identifying the type of wall material (plaster or drywall) if you don't describe if that makes a difference in how to hang the item and what you might do differently?
I understood all the way until he they said to measure from the ring hole up to the top of the mirror then transfer it to the wall seems like it was backwards shouldnt you mark the wall with the distances of the two hooks then the distance of the ring hole from the actual mounting hooks itself to determine exactly where to make your hole in the wall to mount the mirror?? I dunno I got lost
I'd like to know how to attach & tie a CORD ( not a wire ) to the back of a very heavy mirror. The cord is heavy duty BUT kind of slippy & I'm afraid that the knot/s will slip out of place & come loose etc ! No one ever seems to bother explaining this for CORD tying etc
that's what I thought. I can either call my beloved brother to come over for a *coffee* or just do like I've done for decades... I hoped this time to use a power drill for the holes though - and decided to just get a hammer and screws with wire to hang with. Whew! (oh-and the tape for when the wall/paint wants to crack... ) Glad I figured that one out.
Check to see what kind of wall for what? What if it isn’t drywall? What are those corner things you screwed in? Why are you talking so fast? Insert eye roll here
This video does not show a way to get the wire on the back of a heavy picture to hook on the hook already on the wall - without extra hands to help. The wire always falls flat so that the hook won't catch.
Exactly what I like To the dang point...... I just watched a 15 minute video The explained to much and at the end I felt like I he was speaking Chinese. I didn’t understand jack 🤦🏻♀️
Thanks for bringing that to our attention, Kathy. Here's a direct link on setting drywall anchors: www.lowes.com/n/how-to/how-to-use-drywall-anchors. We hope you find it helpful!😊
This video is way too fast. I can't think this fast. It could be broken up into stages, which are introduced at the start of the video. And there could be a three second pause in between each instruction. It's GREAT content but just badly needs to be re-edited to be longer. It's fine, I'm willing go spend five minutes learning this. That's why I sat down with a cup of coffee before I looked this up. The picture is going to (hopefully) hang there much, much longer.
I hang a mirror 82" x 48" almost 125 lbs. Of course, hanging a heavy mirror would take longer than 3 minutes. Think ahead before you purchase it... It looks ridiculous and de-values your house when you hang the floor mirror, vanity, or body mirror on your wall … professional will know!
The metal cleat system is a terrible idea, the wall wood stud is only 1.5" wide, the metal cleat is 6", you screw it to a hollow dry wall. Just figure it out.
This appears challenging
Exactly 😂
I agree !!!
Lol always
I have a huge heavy wood framed mirror to hang. I’m nervous cos I’ve never done it before 🥴
☠️
1. Buy a good heavy mirror.
2. Measure up.
3. Wonder why you bought the mirror.
4. Throw it away...
😂😂 I'm almost at #4
Lmaaaaao
I actually just destroyed my heavy mirror 😂😂😂🔫
5. Damage the wall
6. Call a handyman and him more than the price of the mirror to fix everything.
😅😅
Nice. I just hammered a random screw from my toolbox into the wall and eyeballed it. Little lopsided. May repeat.
1. Buy a heavy mirror or picture.
2. Buy a table.
3. Set mirror or picture on table and lean and anchor it to the wall.
Enjoy!
I hope you are joking 🙃. That’s very dangerous
" BUY " a heavy table ? 🤨
An expensive purchase that I could do well without 😆
Okay, I just watched this, now... who can hang this big mirror for me?🤣
I can hang anything. I've hung a huge TV (somewhere between 60-72 inches) on a metal stud wall and it's still doing good after many years. 😊
Me too.😂

@@lowes Thank you
The background music is what my alarm rings to. When I first hit play I looked over at my alarm thinking I'd accidentally set it.

You can slow down the video.
I have those hooks and it is supposed to carry a heavy mirror, but the hook looks so fragile
Have to agree with you ... some of the hooks already on some items ...
look so feeble ... makes you nervous
Looks easy enough when I watch it. When I actually try it, well that's probably different youtube :)

I saw on another video, someone put painters tape on the bottom of the rings to hold them up. Maybe try that!
oooh what is the name of this video? Thanks for the tip but not sure I am visualising correctly!! @@samkw22

Really good at hanging mirrors but making videos not so much

I can't get the rings to hang on the screw
You make it look easy. Is there a trick to getting that done
Wow this is exactly the info that I was looking for. Thank you.
What about masonry? What kind of drill do you use? What kind of screw?? So much missing :(
@Lowe's Home Improvement: Thank you for making and sharing this video. It was informative and helpful. I prefer this video over the Home Depot one.

Jeez Louise!!!! I had no idea Lowes offered so many service including a home improvements department! This is my new home!!!!
I never knew exactly who Louise was!
Very very helpful. Gives you the confidence to do almost anything.
Excellent tips, very helpful. Thanks!
I was gonna use a wardrobe door mirror to hang up but it's full length and very heavy so idk if it would work I don't have a scale though hmm
Huh?!?! Lord have mercy. It can't possibly be this complicated to hang a mirror.
😂😂😂😂. I was saying the same thing
🤣🤣

VERY IMPORTANT missing instructions how to “tie” the hanging wire to the D-Rings special knot must be tied so the wire does not slip untying the knot
How much do you charge if we hire someone to hang a heavy mirror on our kitchen..Thank you
Omg.. this is too much 😩
Yes Jen
What if the mirror does not have a frame?
Mirror tape might work
OMG, I can't hear the man talk as the background music is driving me NUTS.
Great video.
I will be sending this to my husband! Thank you ☺️
what if you dont have 2 studs that line up with the location of those D-rings? seems like that has to somehow be in position.
i have the same problem
This is exactly what I needed. I have to hang a 50 lb. mirror today 🙄
By the look of your photo, I'd take it back down again!! 😉😆😂
Dr Chunky Biscuit that was a bit

Precisely ! 👏👏
you don't need to find studs for metal cleats right?
Try it and report back. :P
I use drawing pins to fix everything to the wall
Best video for this. I love it.
I destroyed my heavy mirror thinking that if I hang it on the wall, the house would fall. Now I’m regretting my life 😭
Perfect and to the point
I'd rather just pay someone to come and hang all of my decorations. lol
@I Corp Agree- less aggravation especially since not everyone is handy. That’s all we need too is for a heavy mirror to fall.
👍 With you on that one ! 👌
jaja I googled how to hang a "HEAVY" mirror and I got this video 😣
Me too... this video is useless - doesn't really give details on any of the steps.
Same thoughts here too !!!
Worked great, thanks
Ok, hopefully I don't get injured.. lol
+Nalanda Amir J. Safety first, always. But you got this. :)
Desire vs actual skill level to do this -> hire handyman . No ego
I’m 4”11 wtf is eye level
Great video! Especially since that is my mirror!!!

You can always pause it to gather your thoughts, it’s not like it’s a live stream
Just play it on slow speed and/or pause it if necessary and continue playing.
Shouldn't be needing/having to do any of this !
The video shouldn't even be uploaded until the uploader has
got things right himself BEFOREHAND !
Thank You
All this to put up a mirror?
The music gets in the way
This must be for pros not for regular homemakers like me
👌 Exactly ... and me !
step one: buy a mirror with a stand
i don't have a level though
This is tew much. I didn't know I had to be a contractor. 😔
thanks dad
Cleats seem better than wire, I wish I had some lol
Ok I’ll just call my dad cuz
Thank you so much!
Huh
Hanging the mirrors is a 2 man job, need to be very good at measurements, and have the right tools, need very good skills. not a easy job.
Outstanding!!!!!
Please fit mine too
Background music is absolutely distracting and annoying, however helpful the advice may be.

why in America everybody has empty walls?) I've never had such problem)
Perfect!!!
Nice..
You may have just watched it ... BUT have you TRIED it yet ?! 😄😆
This is not easy to follow too many steps in the background music is really distracting
Don't hang heavy mirrors or pictures in drywall alone. Find a stud.
Huh???
Too much damn work lmao
Too technical, too fast and awful distracting background. Not helpful.
Too much work
i’m so confused. i need to hang a mirror that weighs like 60lbs
each one of the anchors can take more than 30 lbs so use 2 anchors on the studs. usually with wide studs you can hold up to 50lbs
James Take I don’t have studs just dry wall., can I use the exact gold nail and hook hardware? I have that
But what if it is a light mirror that can be hung by using the clear mirror clips...
Well this is a heavy mirror hanging video so...
🤣
Thanks! Although I still am unable to hang my mirror harder then it looks lol ugh!! I need a husband!🙏🏼😅
Didn’t help me at all
