This was pure ENERGY, Switch ups so on and so forth but 1. Why didn’t you tell me about this earlier and 2 what song are we doing next? let’s go!
Whichever song you choose next, pick out something Live. That's where they were at their best.
"Somebody To Love" Live, in Montreal, 1981. Inspired by Freddie's love of Aretha Franklin. There is also a studio version, but live is slightly better imo.
@@Stuart_Lonewolf_Holloway I'll agree and disagree with this. They are EPIC live but some of their videos are pretty damn cool so there is that.....
Somebody to Love ..1981 live in Montreal
Whowants to live forever 1986 live Wembley
White Queen .. live December 1975
and the iconic and unforgettable 20 minute set played by Queen at the 1985 charity event “Live Aid”. Often considered to be the best live performance of all time.
In The Lap Of The Gods live at the Rainbow not the revisited one and Liar live at the Rainbow
How the hell did you make it this long without hearing one of the greatest songs ever written and sung
correction....THE greatest song of all time
That's what i was thinking too lol
I have to admit that for many years I too lived in sort of a music bubble, being a musician myself playing with many bands I should have expanded my musical horizons but when you're growing up you kind of just listen to what you're used to and people seldom stray. But I started listening to more hip hop and rap and jazz and wow was I surprised. There is so much great music out there. A lot of it from bands and musician that are not well known.
He’s very young.
That’s what I was wondering?! The greatest song, arguably, ever!
The lead guitarist is an astrophysicist… straight up truth!
Even wrote a song about Relativity that grabs your heart: "Your mother's eyes, from your eyes, call to me."
Dr (Sir) Brian May.
I remember an interview with Doctor Dre, and the reporter asked him who his primary musical influences were, and he talked about some of the classic old-school musicians, but then he said, "But for how to put a perfect performance together, nobody's taught me more than Queen. Those guys have never let their audiences down, not once. They set the bar for how to give a great performance."
Facts right there! So far so good 🎯🔥
Interesting that Garth Brooks said basically the same thing.
@@chicochi3 I've heard that!
@@chicochi3 and both were right!
The most extraordinary thing about Queen was that inspite of Freddie's genius they were not just the Freddie Mercury backup band, but they all brought their own contributions and musical voice to Queen. A true band.
“What is this?” This is the genius of Freddie Mercury ❤️🇬🇧
Brian May (guitar) has a distinctive sound. Playing with a coin instead of a pick, and a home made guitar built partially from a fireplace mantel, with his father. He was studying to be an astro physicist. All the members in the band were masters of their instruments.
After the band broke up, May actually completed his studies. He has a PhD in Astrophysics these days!
Don't forget the hand wound pick-ups, or had they been replaced by this point? But yeah, that red guitar is something else :D
brian may has phd in astrophysics, and ha worked in that capacity for nasa no less. he built the guitar himself, and deacy, who has a master in electrical engineering built their amplifiers. the drummer, roger, is a dentist, and fredyy had a master in arts. yeah. they had the knowledge all right.
Brian is amazing truly a legend
My daughter has a silver sixpence pick. She states it make the sound is clear and pure. The Elizabeth II picture is embossed on the coin.
They mixed it themselves. They did this on all their songs. They wrote all their own music and every member could write, play and sing! Magic!
I think you're forgetting the input of co-producer Roy Thomas Baker....
Compared to modern artists with their multiple writers, technicians, auto tune etc...
What it is. Is the greatest song ever written by the greatest British band to ever have existed
GREATEST BAND EVER you mean
Arguably. They do have some competition of course. But this is way up there.
I will say the Beatles doing the album Sgt. Pepper revolutionized how to mix songs and Queen benefitted from them. And there are some amazing Rolling Stones songs. But yes...this is up there.
@@davidmichaelson1092Led Zeppelin too
@@europeanmapping71 No argument.
It's a ride watching people take their first Queen ride. Major talent in that band and NOBODY can match Freddie Mercury's voice: his range, his pitch, his perfection. This is Rock Opera, that's the switch-ups - it takes you through a story. Masterful.
ua-cam.com/video/QkCxE2Lh458/v-deo.html
The intro. was actually just Freddie Mercury harmonizing with himself on multiple tracks. When Freddie wrote this song he was actually working on 3 different songs and had the genius inspiration to combine them into this epic masterpiece. If you enjoyed this, please don't miss watching Queen at Live Aid 1985. That's 10 years after this video was made and you'll see a matured Freddie with an outstanding voice doing what many consider to be the best live performance in rock history.
That’s definitely up next 🔥🔥🎯
It is the most amazing live performance ever.. Freddie could put a crowd in the palm of his hand. I'm gonna listen to it right now!
@@trishlarocca Yep, Queen at Live Aid is still considered one of the greatest performances of all time. (If not the greatest outright.) It's eve more amazing knowing he was suffering from a bad throat infection and his doctor told him not to risk damaging his vocal cords by singing. But Freddie just took a few shots of vodka and then gave the performance of his life.
The intro is all four band members singing in harmony, they were very good at it.
@@cherylfeather9408 no, the intro was just Freddie harmonising with himself, the operatic section was Freddie, Brian and Roger, John Deacon never sang in a recorded track and all 4 mimed it for this music video
Freddie was an absolute genius. Elvis Presley will always be the king of rock n roll and Freddie will always be the queen. Legend
Queen works. Nobody sings like Freddie. Period. Nobody plays guitar like John and Brian and Nobody plays the drums like Roger. I'm in my 60s and grew up blaring queen in my car, singing and pounding the steering wheel. You must see the movie bohemian rhapsody! Excellent job casting and academy award winning for rami Malek. Love them all.
Rami Malek had a tough job because Freddie Mercury was so larger than life, so "Freddie", but he smashed it.
I saw them 3 times in the 70s. NOBODY will ever compare. FREDDIE was pure raw sex in a leotard. 🔥
ISN'T FUNNY HOW SOME PEOPLE JUST WOULDN'T APPRECIATE HIM WHEN HE WAS ALIVE AND THE NEWS WAS PUTTING THERE SPIN ON HIS PRIVATE LIFE.. LOVE HIM AND HIS BAND SO DAMM GOOD. THE MOVIE WAS AS GOOD AS YOUR GONNA GET.. GREAT JOB RAMI❤❤❤.
This song stayed at the #1 spot in the UK Charts for nine straight weeks. And then in late 1991, just after Freddie passed away, they re-released it and it went straight to #1 again. This song is epic.
It is great that it got re-released just to honor Freddie :)
Queen is a British rock group formed in 1970 consisting of:
Freddie Mercury - Lead vocalist and piano
Brian May - Lead guitar and vocals
Roger Taylor - Drummer and vocals
John Deacon - Bass guitar
Queen was one of the most influential bands of the 20th century. They produced 15 studio albums and multiple hit singles which reached gold, platinum, and even double-platinum status, plus played live concerts all over the world to huge sold-out performances (in Rio they performed before 250,000).
Each member of Queen was not only a talented musician but each of the 4 members was also a talented composer. Freddie is the composer of Bohemian Rhapsody. It was included on Queen's fourth album "A Night At The Opera" and released as a single in 1975. The song was then re-released in 1992 after being included in the movie, "Wayne's World".
You have probably heard Queen songs without realizing that they were performed by Queen. Queen songs are rather ubiquitous throughout the world. Have you ever heard "Another One Bites The Dust", 'We Will Rock You", or "We Are The Champions"? Yes, they were all hits by Queen.
Not only was Bohemian Rhapsody released as a single twice, it reached No. 1 both times and stayed in that position long enough to set the unbroken record of being the only song ever, to be the UK Christmas No. 1 more than once.
@@trevorgoddard2278 queen truly is a timeless band that can’t be beat in regards to its legacy. The things they’ve achieved are incredible
In addition to their song list. You did forget one that made it to number one in 28 countries. That song was called Radio Ga-Ga written and composed by Roger Taylor and sung by Freddy mercury of course. It became a world wide phenomenon at the AID concert which blew away all other groups attending and performing there. One group even went as far as to try and sue Queen for taking the spotlight away from them when they came on to perform their song list. Which goes to show that jealousy from another rock group would be their downfall soon after. Farouk Bulsara (Freddy Mercury) will live on in the fan's memories as the one of the most unique individuals that helped propel the movement to allow diverse sexuality into the spotlight. UK and San Francisco being the most notable for diverse partners. A truly incredible group for such a tumultuous and unstable era.
Shaddup
you've just scratched the surface of Queen - they can run from speed metal to songs that will rip your heart out. They were magic and no one compares to Freddy.
Freddie*
@@lynnhoffmann247 Mr. Mercury could see and feel music. 8)
You missed the joke-opportunity where they are a kind of magic.
You have to remember , that NOBODY had done this kind of thing b4 Queen did it .. they blew the world apart with this Rhapsody
The who Tommy
The Beatles "Happines is a warm gun"
I feel so bad for the youth of today because you guys missed out on the greatest music era ever. Back when groups made true albums, not just a collection of singles uploaded to the internet. Thanks for the review and I encourage you to dig deep into the rock era. You will discover 50 more bands like this. I saw Queen live twice, and trust me the live shows were even better.
I agree that Queen was (one of) the greatest and I feel blessed I grew up in the 1970s. But the youth of today has their own ,,Queen'". They are Maneskin.
@@rvelden1647 What a load of bollocks…. 😂😂🏴🇬🇧
Lift your head above the parapet of the 70s, I'm 66 and there is plenty of good music around today, stop just listening to the radio music, seek and you will find
Thank you, i wish the music was still like this today, i’m 13 years old and Queen has changed my life forever, more than any other singers
@@elsaholm843 as much as i love this song still to this day but the 90s were the best for music ❤
Today's music is just dreadful i feel bad for my kids
BTW, their performance at Live Aid in 1985 is generally considered the greatest live performance in the history of music, all the way back to Beethoven debuting his 9th Symphony in 1824.
Stop the hyperbole, it's nonsense
@@justmr9553 I believe @Grumpy Old Guy Plays Games quite accurately informed this new reactor re the magnificence of Freddie, John, Roger and Brian (Queen) then and up until Freddie's death in 1991.
@@marvalstith2749 nobody who saw Beethoven in 1824 was alive to see Queen, nobody has seen 0.01% of the concerts in the world. I get it, he loves Queen and they are great live band. Best live performance is ridiculous, just too stupid
@@justmr9553 Have never liked the word 'stupid'. And I have read his supposition in other rational places...actually liked the comparison - sent me to revisit the 9th symphony. To me, the reference inspires positive curiosity.
@@marvalstith2749 it's ridiculous, you can't compare opera, classical, rap, rock performances etc etc. It's like comparing every apple eaten from 1970 to every pasta ever made, and then saying this single apple is the best ever from all apples and pastas.
Simple, the guys actually played their instruments, learned them, and they wrote their songs AND performed them!
EXCELLENT reaction. This is why we Queen fans hang out on UA-cam... just waiting for amazing reactors to discover what they already know. Queen is the BEST band and Freddie Mercury is the BEST front man of all time!!! Since you talked about the genius of the composition, you might enjoy this fairly short documentary of the making of Bohemian Rhapsody. I've rewatched this several times because it is so freaking interesting!! Inside the Rhapsody: ua-cam.com/video/m4qYBqIieEk/v-deo.html Keep going! You'll be reacting to Queen for a long time if you start diving in. They have SO MANY different sounds and they will keep blowing your mind. Trust me. You already know some Queen songs... you just didn't know they wrote/sang them!!!
Thats a good one. With Dr. Brian.
But another great one is on a channel of a youtuber called rick beato. I think the name of the vid is called 'What makes this song great' (or something like that) He is a musician, and from what I can gather, a producer and someone on the music scene. He breaks this song down almost note by note. And he talks with Brian and they talk about the Deacy Amp. He actually still has it!.
You know it😜 . If a proper reaction is shown. I subscribe.
I'm going to think about my subs. Especially when it comes to Queen reactions. You're in the top three for my reaction Sub list. I love it when y'all get it. Welcome
“It aged well.” What a perfect way to put it.
This is what you call a rock opera. Freddie took 3 songs and put into one.. They are not only brillant musicians, but very well educated. All them have college degrees and the guatist Dr Brian May has a phd in Astrophysics and has worked with Nasa. He also built that guitar with his father from parts he had laying around his house when he was a teenager. He calls it the Red Special and still uses to this day. Freddie wrote this masterpiece.
Actually picking a favorite Queen song is like trying to pick your favorite child.. But if you want to get goosebumps for me it was"Who Wants to Live Forever "live at Wembley.
BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY was written by Freddie....check out live performance SOMEBODY TO LOVE live at Montreal
Yes! This!! 🙌🏼
My nieces went to the concert in Montreal.
Undoubtably the greatest rock song of all time.
Queen is Freddie Mercury-piano/vocals, Brian May-guitar/vocals, Roger Taylor-drums/vocals, John Deacon-bass/some back vocals...all four members wrote, all four had 1 #1 hits....this was the very first video used to sell a song...Queen's music is so diverse they can not be boxed into one category of music....their music is used in commercials, movies, t.v.shows, sports....also no auto tune in those days and they actually performed with their instruments live
One of the first to use video yes, but not the first. ABBA who eventually knocked BR off the no.1 spot with 'Mama Mia' were using videos to promote their songs a good year or so before this with Waterloo, SOS and others. Partiatly because being from Sweden to promote their music it had to shown in places like the UK and Germany and also Agenetha had a two yr old and another on the way in those early years and didn't want to travel to much.
@@mervinmannas7671 well, music was one of the first things put with film since spoken word was so difficult, really early films were 'music videos' - but I think the earliest video made to accompany the release of a record was some time in the 50's, but it was still a few decades until they became an art-form of their own.
4:21 Brian May wrote the solo
@@RoverWaters yes, after Freddie played it for Brian on the piano to prove to Brian the piece needed it on guitar.
Deacon also plays electric piano on at least one track! 🎹🎹
I love it when people react to this and have no idea that they probably know many Queen songs but never knew who sant them. We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions, Another One Bites The Dust...
Absolutely one of the best rock bands ever. Welcome to the world of Queen. Great reaction.
You know what? Nothing but love for you, I’m 52, I first heard this song on the radio when I was very young and I had the same reaction and I STILL have the same reaction to this song and it doesn’t matter how long you go in life before you hear this song, it makes you feel, and if you have an acutely focused musical mind, as you clearly do, it’s just completely blown 🤯 lighting in a bottle!
You just listened to hands down one of the best songs ever written. Great reaction🔥
Great reaction!!
Queen didn’t like to explain the lyrics to their songs and wanted the listener to be able to interpret them. Many people believe this song is about Freddie coming to terms with his sexuality and accepting who he truly was. When he says “I just killed a man” I believe he means that he killed the man he used to be, the straight man he’s been pretending to be. The man his parents wanted him to be. When he says “Mama didn’t mean to make you cry” because his family was religious and maybe he couldn’t be the son they wanted. “Goodbye everybody, I’ve got to go and leave you all behind and face the truth” In the middle section they sing “Bismillah will you let me go, no we will not let you go, let him go.” Bismillah is arabic for In the name of god. Then he says “So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye.” In his Zoroastrian religion, there was a time when people would be stoned to death and being gay would be a sin. The last lines “Nothing really matters, nothing really matters to me.” I believe is him giving permission to everyone to be their true self and love whoever they want because it doesn’t matter. “ Anyway the wind blows.” Listen to the lyrics again and see if you agree.
Just my thourghts.
Tara I couldn't agree more with what you said I really do believe you said it all in your remark.Love this wonderful talented man n his wonderful band mates who stayed true to him thru his illness and passing
❤
@Tara_$125: Your post is bang on correct. I was in my 20s & a huge Queen fan. I agree Freddie was coming to terms with his sexuality. I saw Queen in person in 1981 in Montreal. Talk about "blowing my mind" concert! Top notch & I love how you see NO cellphones. Just pure rock & roll fans who loved Queen.
"White queen "live at the Odeon hammersmith 1975
"Save me "live in Montreal 1981
"Under pressure", live Wembley 1986
Also of course "Somebody to love" Montreal 1981
The world did not deserve Freddie Mercury, but I'm so glad we got to have him if only for too short of a time
Recommendations from a "Queenie"
"Somebody to love" Montreal 1981
"White Queen" Live from Hammersmith-Odeon
Also .. one of the best songs to listen to with headphones.
Freddie was once asked which instrument he played...'The audience darling' was the answer.
One of the many things I love about this song is the seamless way Freddie's vocals transition to Brian's guitar playing. It's like Freddie goes from singing on his own, and then via Brian's guitar. It's beautiful.
Great reaction - thanks! Queen is one of the few bands renowned for being better live. Try "Somebody to Love" from Montreal 1981. It's a sublime performance of another Freddie Mercury song (Fred composed Bo-Rhap) but inspired by Aretha Franklin. You won't be disappointed.
Yes indeed but watch the actual video 1st than watch the live to get the real appreciation
Better Live? They were great at studio and live. They couldnt even perform some parts of songs live because they were to complicated. Queen put alot of work into their albums sometimes spending a year making them
IMo they were far better in the studio because of all the layered harmonies and guitars.
@@michellepreston9799 Absolutely agree! I think too many UA-camrs default to the live version and miss out on all of the incredible harmonies and production touches that make the original album version so good.
SOME body to love was released in 1976 ,,,
One of the best reactions I've seen to this song. You stopped at all the right times. I'm not just saying this because I love Queen, but this is considered the best rock/pop/whatever song of all time. They have so many songs that make you dance and make you cry. I'm looking forward to hearing more from you.
I heard queen as a small child and i recall the epicness of it is what got me. They were describing a different world in some distant future. The song was Radio Ga Ga. Great reaction. You’re genuine.
Yours was a really enjoyable reaction to watch. You obv know a great song when you hear one, lol. This song went to #1 2x. Once in 1975/76 and again in 1991/92. Queen are lead singer: Freddie Mercury on piano, Bass = John Deacon (some vocals), lead guitar = Brian May (vocals) and Drums = Roger Taylor (vocals). They ALL wrote #1 hits. I REALLY hope you go down this road and get into this group. You will not be disappointed. This song came out in 1975... the song was recorded on analog tape. 24 track I believe. No autotune... it did not exist at the time. The band is AMAZING live. Their live performances were never clones of their studio work... they loved to change songs up when they performed live.
This rock opera was released in 1975. It is still, IMO, the best song ever written. Watch Green Day Crowd Singing Bohemian Rhapsody at Hyde Park (UK) in 2017. that will show you how popular the song is.
Now that you know: What if I told you there was an a capella group good enough to do this song justice with no instruments?
They're called Pentatonix, and you have never heard anything like them.
Having been listening to this song from its first release, I'm envious of the people hearing it for the first time. Watching people react to the song gives me goosebumps in a way I don't get from just listening to it. It's so amazing how it has the power to instantly make new fans after all these years! The song is groundbreaking and record-breaking on so many levels! I'm tickled that you enjoyed it so much. QUEEN forever bruh! Freddie...LEGEND!
Right! This queen journey has been crazy and this was the song that started the quest. Thanks for watching and for the feedback bro let’s keep it going #QueenForLife
loved your reaction so much that I subscribed right away. Love seeing someone go down the Queen rabbit hole. Queen Live Aid 1985 and Someone to Love 1981 are 2 of their best live performances. All 4 band members are phenomenal.
Some body to love came out in 1976
For the guitar solo to end all guitar solos, “comfortably numb. Live”
My favorite song of all time. Just LOVE Pink Floyd!!!!!! 💕
Nah, that would be "moonlight sonata" (Beethoven) on rock guitar by 17 year old Tina S. and Dr. Viossy (composer).
Thank you!
You have so many more songs to check out from Queen. Dragon Attack live by Queen. ❣👑🎶
I love FTB’s reaction to this incredible music video by Freddie Mercury
man you have to watch the whole Montréal 1981 show.... Queen - The Game Tour Live in Montreal...
this show ....
is just SOMETHING ELSE ....
I am always amazed to see someone who has never heard/seen Bohemian Rhapsody before!!! I believe it is the #1 song of all time! It's been #1 on the charts several different years! loved your reaction! Every time you thought you knew where the song was going, they would switch it up!! It's a masterpiece!!! Freddie's rhapsody!!!
Loved your genuine reaction and appreciation of music. Queen has a large catalogue of songs you have heard but don't realize it. Stadium anthems such as "We will Rock You" and "We are the Champions". Freddie Mercury (lead singer), Dr. Brian May (lead guitar), Roger Taylor (drums) and John Deacon (bass guitar) all wrote #1 hits.
THE FANTASTIC 70s
Brian May. Hands-down the greatest guitarist ever. And I’m the biggest Prince fan. But you nailed it when you said he’s just chill. Playing the most amazing guitar like it ain’t shit.
Freddie the man. I was about 9 or 10 when an older neighborhood kid put some headphones on me and this was what was playing. I’ve been a fan ever since.😉
This song has always been a favourite of mine. Whenever I go for a drive and turn on the radio, it's guaranteed I will hear the song if I turn it on a channel that plays song from that era. Never fails, no matter the day
Nice LOL this is definitely a great song!
My first concert ever! Queen is the TRUTH! You have definitely heard a few songs by them. You'll find out. Freddie is the greatest front man ever!
You’re so lucky

oh you are in for a treat. the thing with queen...if you never heard of them....you have heard their music....at least a million times each. I suggest watching their Live aid concert performance. considered the greatest performance of all time
This song is vast and extravagant. A whole symphony engineered into a few minutes. Freddie touches us more in 5 minutes than two hours of listening to Mozart. A case of less is more.
The true blueprint of change-ups came two albums earlier "March of the Black Queen", what many think of as the older sibling of this one, it keeps you wondering what is going to happen next (even if it is not the first time you have listened to it).
Singer- Freddie Mercury, Guitar- Brian May, Bass- John Deacon, Drummer- Roger Taylor aka QUEEN. Greatest band ever!!!
Still remember my first reaction, when I was in high school in the mid-70s, and this popped up on the radio. Never heard a song like this before, and haven't since
I’m melting 🫠 this song is masterpiece wow what a classic 70s rock was before my dad’s time man 👨
the 1970s is the blast from the past bro 😎 5:34
Everyone watches Somebody to Love live in Montreal 1981. They were incredible- the entire concert. Freddie wrote this song. All 4 members had no.1 songs. Nobody can sing like Freddie Mercury did! RIP Genius!
5:35 Brian fricking May and that guitar solo. Oh My God!
Somebody to love, live Montreal 1981
The entire Intro to the song, which you liked, was all Freddie harmonizing with himself!
there are muscians, there are rockers there are rock legends there are rock gods......and then there Freddie Mercury
This song hit the charts twice in it's life time. The first time in the 70's when it was first released and again about 20 years later because it was featured in the movie Wayne's World. If you watch the clip from the movie, you will see why it charted again same as it did when it first released on the album A Night at the Opera in 1975.
Several have mentioned their LIVE AID set.. it's a must! The entire group went through hell for 10 years after this song hit big. 10 years and a trip to hell later, their cohesiveness outlived the hell and they were even more brilliant than ever. Sadly, Freddie Mercury (lead vocals) passed from the aids virus not all that long after the Live Aid performance.
Amazing - been listening to this for over 45 years and still gets me....
Freddie wrote it as a trilogy. The lead guitarist is Dr Brian May (astrophysicist). All the guys are song-writers, all sing, and no-one regarded themselves as above the others. Freddie was, in my opinion, one of the greatest voices of the 20th century. He sang ballads and opera as well as rock. He played guitar as well as piano. Green Day play this recording before they appear on stage, and their audiences sing along with it. You can find that on yt.
This was the 'sicko mode' before 'sicko mode'.. No Cap 💯🤣🙌🏾
Probably the best song ever heard.. How can you be in the music industry without knowing what was done previously??
Rhapsody: “a musical composition of irregular form having an improvisation character “.
If you love guitar solos, you can't go wrong with "Brighton Rock" . Brian May's guitar solo is unbeatable. All four members of Queen are all geniuses. Welcome to Queen, you'll never regret it.
This song was the 1st music video ever!! It was aired on Top of the Pop's . A Tv station in the UK. Many Years b4 MTV!!
Great reaction....there are masterpieces and then there's Bohemian Rhapsody....this is a 5 part story....Acapello (introduction), Ballad (confession), Operatic (trial), Rock show (acceptance) and a Coda (closing)
Absolutely love watching you dive into the Queen rabbit hole! Here's a few amazing facts about Queen, the lead guitar Brian May hand made his guitar " The Red Special " with his dad from things around his house like a piece from the fire place mantel. Another fact is each member of the band is a University graduate! Brian May, lead guitar, is a Astrophysicist! Freddie Mercury has a degree in Graphic design. Roger Taylor drums, has a degree in Biology and studied to be a Dentist. And last but not least, John Deacon base guitar, is a Electrical engineer! They're as brilliant off the stage as on it! Keep them coming, please and thank you! 😊
The left right sound changes was Freddy’s idea they fired the record producer over this song
4:40 one of the best sounding bass guitars in history and to think he built it in his dad's garage out of old furniture because when he was a teen he couldn't afford one of the big brand guitars.
This was Queen's most extreme multi genre creation, try "March of the Black Queen" for what many think of as Bohemian Rhapsody's older sibling (no operatic bit but more changes).
Both by Freddie
You need to follow queen, its a journey of magic.
Loved your reaction, hope to see you do more Queen they made 15 albums together so there's lots to choose from. I recommend early Queen like Stone Cold Crazy live at the Rainbow and Keep yourself alive official video there's a few you already know but probably don't know their Queen songs. Cheers!
You are correct! A movie was made about him recently & it was a hit!
This song was written by Freddie. This video opened the doors to a lot of great things in music!!!
It's the song that keeps on giving!! 👍😎
This is the best song ever.
The cool guy 😉 is John bass guitar. Cool Cat. Also great song writer. You will recognize Another one bites the dust. That inspired MJ to create Thriller.
Brian May playing solo guitar on top of palace for the Queen was epic👌🏼
Now for fun, watch the A Capela group Pentatonix's version. Amazingly shocking how much it sounds like this, with voices only! A must see! This group is amazing & it is a miracle that when the lead singer Freddin Mercury died, the group found Adam Lambert to replace him & he does a stellar job on these songs too, so they are still touring.
This was the first ever purpose-made music video, years before MTV existed. Queen were invited to perform on Top of the Pops on British TV. On Top of the Pops, the performers were physically present in the studio, but the music was playback -- all of it, they basically played the tracks from records and the bands mimed to them. Anyway, Queen were scheduled to be on tour and could not make it to the TV taping, and so they made this in their rehearsal space in a few hours. It is amazingly simple in technical terms. For instance, the cascade effect seen twice (on "Magnifico" and "Let me go") is what you get with analog video if you point the camera at a screen showing the output from that camera, an infinite loop sort of thing.
Time to go down the Queen rabbit hole! You should check out "Somebody to love" live in Montreal 1981. Watching Freddie Mercury perform live will change your life! 🔥
Another great reaction...the genius, Freddie Mercury..the lead singer wrote this....It was released in 1975....the guy “chillin” is John Deacon, the baby of the family...they had no brothers, but they became a family of brothers...In 1975, Freddie was 29..Brian May (guitar) was 28..Roger Taylor (drummer) was 26.. and John Deacon (bassist) was 24...they were all within a five year age span...if you think about it, they were already amazing in everything that they wrote , played and sang🤩
For a completely different view of Freddie Mercury, check out “Barcelona with Freddie Mercury & Montserrat Caballe”. She’s a Spanish opera soprano, one of the greatest ever. She & Freddie wrote Barcelona to hopefully be the theme of the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games. Unfortunately, he died before then. Freddie has a whole different look and his singing style mixes so well with her operatic voice”.
The Intro is actually Freddie Mercury doing 4-part harmony all by himself, compare it to the 4-part in the "operatic" section in the middle of the song.
Teo Torriate by Queen. Gem hidden away at the end of the Day at the Races album. Dedicated to the people of Japan, who idolised Queen (as did us all).
Let us cling together as the years go by...... (Teo Torriatte)
This song is sheer beauty for me. Wonderful lyrics and Freddie's voice so gentle and vulnerable. Pure Perfection.
Freddie Mercury was indeed a legendary icon!!!! Brian May is a phenomenal guitarist, John on bass, Roger on drums…and they fit! Beautifully! I always loved Queen!
This song is a technical masterpiece !
I remember hearing this song growing up, every road trip this song was played! The whole car filled with family would sing this as loud as they could… man this song just brings back such good memories!
If you love guitar solos check out Pink Floyd performing "Comfortably Numb", preferably the version from the 1994 Pulse concert The two guitar solos from Dave Gilmour just kill it
Their management didn't want them to release this song because they thought that nobody would listen to it. Freddie Mercury & Queen proved them wrong and it's gone on to be considered one of the greatest rock songs of all time.
