Same... I really want to find and restore a canyon red 86 LX Ford Taurus wagon but they are so difficult to find now. I find more Gen 1 SHOs for sale than the regular sedans and wagons now. I'm worried the values of these are going up now because they wanted $9,000 for the wagon in the video here. Recently an 87 LX wagon went for $7,900 at auction and a canyon red LX sedan popped up with the seller demanding $10,000 for it. Nobody would have asked above $3,000 for a regular Gen 1 Taurus or Sable before October 2023.
Can't believe $9,000 was asked for this. There was an 87 LX Taurus wagon last month that the bidding went up to almost $8,000 for. Last month there was an 86 LX Taurus sedan they wanted $10,000 for. I've been searching for a 1986 Ford Taurus LX wagon for 5 years now. Had a chance to get a clean white LX wagon in 2019 from Portland but my dad got in the way. I could have gotten $1500 for it. No luck since then. I was worried the value of these were going to go up and now I probably won't be able to get ahold of one now. Nobody asked above $3,000 for one of these before October 2023. Now I'm going to not only deal with these being hard to find but higher values...
@@mattw4496 Please pray that a 1986 Ford Taurus LX wagon in medium canyon red will show up for sale for me! I know of one that exists owned by a guy in Arizona in several online groups. Never seen another one out there in that color and trim and year besides his but there has to be a few more out there...
An 8/10 example of one of these. You can tell its had its fair share of use over the last 32 years, but it was well taken care of. There's a clicking sound almost as if the turn signals are stuck?
Most likely a blendoor actuator. These are the plastic vent switches behind the dash. Such as if you put it on recirculated, something closes vent from outside.
i had a 1991 3.0l GL wagon . i miss it alot . sadly we use alot of salt on the winter road's in norway , so rust become a huge issue on it . had to scrap it sadly , both floor and frame where rotten . but i miss it alot.
I love the first generation Taurus sedan and wagons. Having driven various versions of the Taurus, including 1st and second gen sedans/wagons and SHO, I want the extremely rare and not valuable MT-5 wagon, which was offered for only two years. Its slow, not much more economical than the v6, but its more fun to drive. And, I want it with cruise, AC, rear window defroster, roof rack, tilt wheel and alloy rims. Such an animal probably doesn't exist these days, given how few MT5 wagons were built when new.
Same here, I love the Gen 1 and 2 Taurus and Sables. I know of one MT-5 station wagon owned in a Taurus Facebook group I'm a part of. It's an 87' in dark blue. Even the 86 LX Taurus wagon I want to find is very difficult to look for as well but would be easier to find than an MT-5 wagon. But I came across a ton of people online who did own an MT-5 wagon back in the day. I even found an 86' MT-5 wagon in 2019 in the red color i want my dream 86 LX wagon to be in, which is medium canyon red. I would have bought that MT-5 wagon if it wasn't for the fact that it was in... Russia of all places. Guess it was imported there at some point. I wish you luck on your dream and I hope my dream LX wagon will show up for sale soon.
Wow. Even the power steering pump is somewhat quiet 😂. These were cool when new and even cooler now. Better than the crap modern cars everyone is so excited about paying $50,000 for.
These station wagons are so cool gotta love it
Love it and one of my favorite era of the Taurus 86-91

Can hear that sweet 3.0 so clearly in this video, I’d love to get my hands on one eventually, first car I ever driven!
Good looking car

Nice Station Wagon.

It is the turn signal clicker is stuck. Press hazard switch on then off and it will stop.
@@42luke93 These don't have electronic blend door actuators, these are all vacuum operated.

That car looks like it came back from the early 90's, maybe after a couple years as a rental car with the minor scratches.
A real Time capsule
Cool Car
Roman, hello! I have the impression that your slight accent sounds too much like Russian. 😉
Is this car still drivable and do you own it?
Does anyone know what the letters or brown mark next to the wiper on the hatch was? Always wondered since I was a kid.

Why ?
Because WE like it. If YOU don't like it then ask yourself why are you watching?
