Watched the trailer for Gladiator 2 and saw nothing interesting - went and watched Gladiator 1 trailer after and thought it was just effortlessly better. I wont be seeing the movie. Gladiator 1 was the best.
Agreed and subbed👍 Gladiator is a nearly perfect movie on it's own, it doesn't need a sequel. Now if Ridley Scott said he wanted to make a tv show based on Gladiator set in the same time, yeah I could see that maybe working. Will I see it? Maybe if someone pays me to, otherwise why?
Like your energy again, to your question about if the public will fall for it or not?! I believe since it is an other Hollywood movie with blood and violence it will do well at the box office!😢
The trailer looks like it was fanmade! I couldn't believe I was watching the official trailer! Scott has been irrelevent for the past 20 years! It's a pity as i was hoping to see him make another masterpiece all this time!
Ridley did not lose his mind he just got a boatload of money to make this sequel. I’m not paying to watch it and will wait until is free somewhere. Just look stupid and forced. I wished greed was something someone like him would be able to control and put his legacy above it but money talks.
Purely out of box office success, which it probably will be quite profitable, then indeed it’s a smart move and he hasn’t lost his mind as far as his role as a producer, which I think he has adopted way over being an honest and worthy director the last 15 years. But ya, the video title was always meant to be baity
Gladiator one was okay, but it always felt overrated to me. I liked the opening battle scene quite a lot. But after that the historical inaccuracies and downright dumb things in the story took me out of it. And by the time a Roman emperor steps into the arena to fight a gladiator I was completely done with it
You speak of history but the Emperor Commodus DID fight gladiators in the arena of Rome. This movie has other inaccuracies but everyone loved it because it was good. You should self reflect because it isn’t normal to not like it
@@majormarketing6552 You can't say it's not normal for someone to not like something. Self reflect? come on someone's opinion is their own, I think Gladiator is great but why would it be objective truth that someone must like it?
I mostly agree with your points, the sequel seems dumb. However getting offended by the fact it’s being made with this plot is odd, don’t be so attached to a film
This kind of criticism I find so strange. Until we see the film there’s little to criticise. To scoff and sneer without any real criticism just looks bad.
How can you ask the guy who replied to you “what did you not like?” This video explains it! Lucius is not comparable to a roman general Maximus. Black guy as a gladiator school owner is nothing short of racism. The movie has no life other than appeal to the lowest of the low and dumbest population possible such as yourself
Dude? Have you actually even watched the trailer? It’s pure nostalgia bait. AND it’s one of those trailers that gives the whole story away. The constant repetition of the iconic phrases of the first film is how one can see that it’s made as a cash grab. The film miiiight be better, but just from what is shown in the trailer; the film is made for money, not love. Which is heartbreaking considering how much soul was in the first film.

Thank you for the sub and comment! You’re awesome 🤩
Russell Crowe said it best. "Last time I remembered I'm dead." So no I'm not in the sequel
I agree with you, 100%
Welcome to the mindscape of a GenXer. We wld says “He sold out”. Now switch out apathy for rage and we’ll welcome you w open arms and Nirvana
That’s exactly what he did, and a long time ago. “Before we reach peace, there must first be a great suffering”

dude, he is sooo old by now. at some point he should have just retired in glory rather than go down in mediocrity.
Would love to see one of the films you've made. Oh wait.......

The special effects look poor 😢

No, I’m not offended and don’t think you should be. But I guess you take Ridley Scott more seriously than I do

I am not pumped for this and have at no point been the least interested.
Ridley is one of the most superficial director ever all his shit films are full of flaws
doesnt seem earned in this incarnation... you two must have universal baggage... if not... id go to therapy

Have you seen the trailer? Lol
@@Scoob505 yes. Seems perfectly reasonable for a Hollywood adaptation. What specifically don’t you like?
