Besides heart pieces, there is a bottle on the bottom that you can fish out. Collect two more lures to use. There is a squid that you can catch also, there is a chamber tile you can collect, and a secret seashell also.
There is also a fairy bottle at the bottom you can barely see behind a weed. You just hook it and be careful bringing it up because the fish will attack it and knock it off.
This is how modern fishing reels are designed. If you fish, you have an edge playing the mini-game because what is essentially happening is that the fish is pulling harder than what the drag on the line is set for. This prevents the line from snapping unless you fight it.
Thanks so much!!! 😁😄 I was beginning to think that I was the only one having trouble catching the bigger fish and the rare fish, but these tips are really going to be a game changer for me! Thanks again!
smashing is a tad faster which makes a big difference for the larger fishes where you need to barely tap-hold very short again and again when it's fighting back to the left
darrell It definitely took me a few tries but what I had to end up doing was hooking the bottle, inching it little by little across the bottom until it was pretty close to me, then I pulled it straight up and avoided the fish the best I could. I would recommend doing this with a hundred rupees or so Incase you mess up or have to catch other fish to clear the path for you.
Coolies. Glad it helped. You can see more of my guide playlist for The Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening at ua-cam.com/play/PLMmhstpr6cwPmH7W51wxqHNyThFPHvfsb.html
@@willroges6370 keep fishing and catch all the fish in the pond. The big pne spawns at the bottom in the see weed, cheep-cheep at the most left and top position. I didn't watch the blooper but i think the middle position
@@ReleaseFire it was really hard to tell but I noticed it pulls hardest when you hold the stick up+right. I don't think this made it more likely for the line to break, because when I let go of A the rod dropped. He still pulled harder when tapping A with the stick pulled. Thanks for this video! It was the only thing I really couldn't figure out on my own in this game, as the instructions are not very clear. I guess you're supposed to play with it, but there's no way you could get the 60"+ fish without knowing the right technique! Now I've beaten this game 100% with all dungeon builder stuff done and max rupees. Took about 50 hrs. I could say the game could be longer but I feel really satisfied with my accomplishment & had fun doing it :)
I also barely ever felt like I was doing busy work in this game, which is rare. The dungeon builder was the biggest chore, but after finishing it I had over 8500 rupees so it only took 3 more rounds in my farming dungeon to get to 9999. Nothing ever felt ridiculous or unfair.
Drop the middleweight lure all the way down and drag it over the bottle and then reel it in. It sucked tho cause the fish keep knocking it off the line
Clear as many of the other fish out as possible, wait until you have the heavy lure and then smash reel when the closest fish is turned in the opposite direction.
Hahahaha this is funny asf to me because ironically I've gotten like 2 big fish by smashing a but all the rest have gotten away. I started to fish because one of the dungeon entrances is called the angler or something so I assumed you get the key from fishing but so far no luck. Got the fairy bottle though :-D
Yeah, it's intermittent. Try leaving the area and then going back. The warp to the East of Mabe Village is a good way to head away and then get back fast.
@@vintendio im having trouble also. it jumps up out of water so i stopped pressing A and it ran away. jumps up and drops down and start pressing A still runs away. i dont get it.
I have an EXTREMELY important question can someone please please respond. So in 1998 I got gameboy color and links awakening for Christmas it was my favorite game in existence. 21 years later I never beat the original. My question is, would it be worth it to beat the original before beating the new one? I know it’s 1 for one so it’s basically the EXACT same game I’m just worried it might be tedious or boring beating the same game twice and the puzzles would be ruined when replaying it.
I say play this definitive one and then one day beat the original some other time. For what it's worth, when I replay a game and I remember "how" to solve a puzzle simply because I've played it before, I treat it like it's a school math assignment. You gotta show your work. example: Ocarina of Time fans can easily just run off and get the sword and shield as fast as they can. I follow instructions to go to the tree, heed Mido's instrucitons to get a sword and shield, explore and talk to NPCs and practice what they teach me, and eventually I get the sword and shield. imagine this but for every heart piece and skulltulla. just exploring like it's my first timeplaying. taking notes on stuff I'd have to go back to. "oh there's a cracked wall. I better go back there when I have bombs." it keeps the game fresh for me each time.
Dear lord his helped a lot I always literally smashed my A button and thought that the left analog would help more
Me too 😅 but now.. 😎😜😁

Don't forget that this minigame also gives you two seashells
OMG TXX MAKER FROM THIS VIDEO I FINALY HAVE ALL SEASHELLS THANKS SO MUCH BECAUSE OF YOU NOW I CAN CATCH EVERY FISH THANKSSSSSS !!! 🤩🤩🥳
After one of the midgame dungeons yeah
Very helpful, I was smashing the A button and all my big fish were getting away (now I know why)
You aren’t supposed to smash a?
Ahh! So helpful! My line kept snapping! Thanks for the tip!
There is also a fairy bottle at the bottom you can barely see behind a weed. You just hook it and be careful bringing it up because the fish will attack it and knock it off.
Just catch all the fish and you or the ones in the way and you can get the bottle for sure
You can get also 'fish' out a bottle. It's somewhat hidden behind the leaves close to the left hand side of the screen.
This is how modern fishing reels are designed. If you fish, you have an edge playing the mini-game because what is essentially happening is that the fish is pulling harder than what the drag on the line is set for. This prevents the line from snapping unless you fight it.

Is there a difference between "smash the A button as much as possible" and simply keeping the A button pressed down? Both seems to reel in.
smashing is a tad faster which makes a big difference for the larger fishes where you need to barely tap-hold very short again and again when it's fighting back to the left
This was SO helpful, thanks bro!
This helped a lot. This whole time I thought I was supposed to mash A like it's a Telltale QTE, and couldn't catch anything big.
this video helped me catch Ol' Baron lol
Thanks so much for the help, was having some trouble trying to catch a fish and you're advice helped me get a piece of heart.
Thank you! I was having a hard time figuring out why the line kept breaking
This was a great video, got the bottle and the big fish finally. Thanks
How do you get that bottle up?

You can clear the fish out closest to Link before you start on the bottle to give yourself a little more breathing room.
Thanks this actually helped a lot
thank you very much for this tips 🙏
This was very helpful all the big fish that I caught ran away but now I can catch them really easy thanks
This was very helpful I did not know the line snaped

Na I finished the game with all hearts which is what I wanted to do but thanks oh and I got all sea shells
Omg this helped me sooo much I had no idea why the line was always breaking on me
GREAT! Now I know the REAL fishing tactic thx to you LOL
god this helped so much i have been trying to catch fish for so long with no luck thxs
Whew Chile you helped me so much! I was smashing to outta tf A button not realizing I was messing myself up lol 😂
Thx for the tip. Now i know why the heck can't i catch ol baron and cheep cheep for 2-3 times
This is huge! Thanks man!
OMG thank u so much dude I got think the biggest one there was…thanks for the strategy
Great video mate !!!

Mr Krabs: “Release the slack...then YANK!”
Thank you so much! I nearly broke my controller trying to figure this out.
Awesome tutorial! Much thanks!
Very helpful. Totally worked, thanks.
Nothing I didn't already know, I wanted pointers on the blooper because this technique doesn't seem to work on that particular fish.
Actually, it does, Blooper just moves in funny ways. Tap A when he's coming in, let go or go easy when he's doing his wiggle thing.
Yep, Blooper is pretty much the same, but without the struggle A taps - ua-cam.com/video/fIe_giohblA/v-deo.html
Thank you legend helped so much
Very helpful. Thank you for this.
Pretty much what I suspected but it's nice to confirm it. Much appreciated
No probs dude. Glad it helped you with the fishing.
Thank u so much ! Definitely deserve a link and a sub !!!
100% works
Thanks! Perfect explaination
Thank you so much!
How often do the fish change? It’s always the same small fish.
what about the big blue fish, the blooper and the cheep-cheep?
@Skukrer Rodrigez it`s the las sea shell which i am missing, stupid cheep-cheep ...
@Skukrer Rodrigez I'd suggest waiting until the CC's back entirely in the water before continuing to reel in.
How to you get the 3 of them to spawn the cheep cheep blooper and big blue boi
@@willroges6370 keep fishing and catch all the fish in the pond. The big pne spawns at the bottom in the see weed, cheep-cheep at the most left and top position. I didn't watch the blooper but i think the middle position

What about direction? Is it any better to hold the stick left or right when the fish is coming in or swimming away?
I didn't do that when I was fishing and pulling them in, but you can give it a try. Let us know if it changed anything for you.

If this didn’t help just look at the fish, if it is shaking a lot loosen up and let it go a little
Thank you so much
How do I get the heavy weight hook????
Ty❤️
Don’t forget there’s a bottle at the bottom of the pond you can catch.
Bro I just thought I was tapping the A button too slow and kept mashing it even harder lmfao
Release-Fire: How do you catch an ol’ baron?!
May I please have a video of that?
Is that the huge blue one?
Nice one, cheers
No probs. Keep reeling in the fish. You can also see more details on how to catch Blooper at ua-cam.com/video/fIe_giohblA/v-deo.html
Very helpfull, thanks!!!
Feels good. watched this video and FINALLY got the bottle at the bottom of the lake
Thank you!
Good advice, BUT, simply keep the A button down rather than smashing it. Much easier that way.
Thank You
If the line shakes too much, dont press A, let go.... then press A
No matter how many tips videos I watch, I’ll never be able to catch the blue fish, shame, gotta give up finishing the game in 100%
Thx that help
thanks bro
I still can’t do it
So um.. how do you sell fish?
Who else was scammed now wants to file a lawsuit because you were scammed out of hundreds of rupees during this mini game?
But what about the bottle at the bottom of the pond?
Drop the middleweight lure all the way down and drag it over the bottle and then reel it in. It sucked tho cause the fish keep knocking it off the line
@@bn.4399 make sure to only reel the bottle in when the fish is facing away from it.
How many lures are there?

I was looking for tips for getting that damn bottle I’ve tried like 10 times lol and yes I have both lures
I know right!! How do you get the dang bottle!!
Nm. I just got it. Just tap the A button slowly... It worked perfectly
Clear as many of the other fish out as possible, wait until you have the heavy lure and then smash reel when the closest fish is turned in the opposite direction.
theres 3 lures
How about catching the squid 🦑
Rafael Matos don’t reel in when they are close to the top of the water
You reel in as they go downwards

Its s matter of story progression
HOW THE FUCK DO I GET THE FUCKING BOTTLE. THE FISH KEEP SNAPPING THE LINE WHEN I REEL IN THE BOTTLE
Just do it carefully along the bottom bit by bit
this is probably the worst mechanic in any zelda game :D also the game explains it so badly
Fishing in this game gives me a fucking migraine
Seems like ur old man didn’t take u fishing.
Always tire the fish and don’t force it
Empty bottle
This is fucking impossible
