@Jose no they're not, I've seen videos of Alex doing lows in his bedroom and the only difference is EQ. They're not detuned, they just use EQ to make them sound more resonant here.
There's just this sort of depth to his Vocals that makes them soooooo beastly. Does anyone know how tall he is? If he were a large guy, his increased chest resonance may be part of what makes him so unique.

As much as I love that breakdown, I think my favorite part of the song is the chorus. Those pitched growls are fantastic, and the groove never dies. This might be my new favorite metal song.
